After saving Teylan and reuniting with Alma and the Resistance during the From the Ashes expansion, Teylan reveals something troubling. He overheard the Sky People talking about tracking down a mysterious beast.
As we all know, the RDA has been experimenting on wildlife, and this immediately grabs So’lek attention. With too many questions and a bad feeling about what is coming next, he sets out to investigate, hoping to uncover the truth and learn more about their true intentions.

The Beast Quest
After you leave the Resistance hideout, you will have a marker on your map on the site where you can gather some clues about this mysterious beast that Teylan mentioned.
Make your way there, and the site is called Supply Depot Bravo. The site will be empty, but there are multiple signs of RDA activity.
There are three clues that you can interact with: you will find a dead hammerhead to your left, cages on top of their vehicle, and to the right there is a huge trap on the ground.
So’lek will discuss this with Teylan over the radio and will ask you to follow the trail to see where it leads. Keep following the path ahead west and you will keep encountering the RDA on the way.
You can choose to ignore them or fight them, but eventually, you will reach a big facility called Laser Ore Processor Alpha. The clues lead here, so you will need to go inside and check for yourself.
Infiltrate Laster Ore Processor Alpha
In order to get inside the Laser Ore Processor Alpha facility, there are two ways:
- The main door, which will attract attention
- The maintenance door, which is the more stealthy option.
We’ll cover both options.
Option 1: Open The Main Door
At the main gate, to the right, you will find a panel that you can sabotage using your modified knife. This will open the control room, which will then open the main door for you.
If you just follow the green tube, it will lead you to the control room just behind it. From here, you can open up the main door, but this will put the RDA in an alerted state.
Option 2: Open The Maintenance Door
For the more stealthy option, if you go to the top left of the main door, you should see a small entrance, and there is a panel that you can sabotage with your knife.
However, there is water leaking, so your knife loses its charge, and you need to stop the water leak. If you follow the yellow tube this time, you will come across a valve.
Interacting with it will stop the leak and allow you to unlock this maintenance door.
Whichever way you pick to go inside, progress deeper into the facility. You can expect a lot of RDA enemies, so make sure you deal with them or keep sneaking.
Find The Control Room
So’lek will find the whole facility is locked, and he needs to override the system in order to gain access. Teylan will tell you to find the control room, and given that So’lek is not as nerdy as Teylan, he wonders what that is.
So what you need to do is take the elevator on the right side and make it to the top floor. From here, destroy the panel to the left of the first door and then sabotage the second one using your modified knife.
This will lead you to the control room, where you will find the main computer to override the system and unlock the room.
With that done, head back to the main room and progress forward.
Climb up the pipe and follow the way to the other side until you reach a small hidden entrance that can be recognized by green flowers.
Shortly after, you will find water that is electrified, so simply shoot the panel there to grant you safe passage.
Keep progressing forward until you reach another control room. This time around, you need to get back to the ground floor, so use the ventilation system.
At the ground floor, Teylan will ask you to use the turbine vents in order to gain access, but to do so, you first need to overload them.
There is a control panel on the far left of the room, so go there and interact with it.
Overload The Turbines
As soon as you sabotage that panel and overload the turbines, you will hear an RDA officer talking over the radio, meaning that So’lek’s position is exposed, and they know he is here.
After Lieutenant Westley Chau’s short speech, he will send out RDA enemies your way, and you need to defend yourself. Use the space to your advantage to take cover while you take them out one by one.
After you deal with all the RDA, the cargo crane will be blocking your way to reach the turbine, and you will need to move it.
Once again, you need to find another control room, and it will be marked for you, so make your way there. Sabotage the panel with your modified knife.
This will summon a second wave of RDA enemies; deal with them, and then use the cargo system to make it up to the turbine.
From here forward, the path is pretty straightforward, so you just need to follow it, using the ventilation system and all, until you reach the elevator at the loading bay room.
Use the elevator to reach the upper floor, and here a cutscene will start playing. So’lek will feel the movement of something huge as the elevator closes in on the loading bay, big room, while the RDA officers are on the side in a control room watching.
The door will open, and as your screen shakes, a big wildlife form is coming closer to you. Naturally, the wildlife doesn’t normally attack the Na’vi, but this one has multiple RDA devices on it that seem to make it hostile.
This is the Fireback Mastodon that was captured by the RDA, and your task here is not to actually defeat it, but to help and save it.
Free The Fireback Mastadon
If you didn’t notice, there are four main devices on the animal that you need to destroy, but you can just shoot them with your weapons.
- There are two on its chest, one on its rear left foot, and one on its lower back.
You will have to wait for a specific time when they start to overload and are exposed; only then can you shoot them down.
During this whole fight, all you need to do is just escape and keep your distance from the Mastodon. The poor thing will not hurt you if it weren’t for the RDA.
Destroy The Chest Spiracle Devices
The first ones you will deal with are the two on its chest. As the Mastodon keeps attacking and ramming into you, at some point they will open up and release some green gas.
This is your chance to shoot and destroy them. To be safe, it’s better to use your slow motion while aiming with your arrow to make sure you hit it.
This will attract the Lieutenant’s attention, and he will realize that So’lek knows how to save the beast. He will order them to overcharge the beast in order to make it angry and defeat So’lek.
Of course, So’lek will not hurt the poor thing and will only try to avoid and dodge its attacks until the spiracle device opens up again.
Once the second one does, do the same as you did with the first one, and you should be done with the chest pieces. This will move to a cutscene where the RDA will try to control the beast from the foot device.
Destroy The Foot Spiracle Devices
Moving on to the foot device, the same strategy applies here. You will need to wait until it opens up and then shoot it.
This time, however, the device will still be intact, and many RDA enemies will spawn. The beast will lay in the middle while you need to protect it, so first deal with all the RDA enemies.
Once you deal with the RDA, head back to the Mastodon and approach the foot device. Interact with it in order to pry it off, and this will remove it.
Destroy The Flank Spiracle Devices
Now, for the fourth device, it’s the flank one located on its lower back. No worry, it’s the same strategy you need to follow: wait for it to open up and then shoot it.
The beast will fall down, and you will need to climb to its back in order to pry it off, but it’s not over yet.
Destory The Final Device
There is one more device near the head of the Mastodon, and the RDA will use it to shock the beast down and will unleash all the other RDA dogs on you while they try to escape.
Your objective here is to defend the Mastodon and kill all the RDA. After you complete this, the turrets will try to attack the Mastodon, but this will only drive him mad.
This will cause him to rush and break the wall, and it will leave him unconscious.
This is your chance to get that last device. Of course, the RDA makes nothing easy, and there is another wave of enemies coming, which wakes up the Mastodon.
Your best chance now is to climb up to the ledge on the upper floor and then jump to pry off the last device yourself.
Escaping The Facility
A cutscene will play where you will ride the Mastodon outside, but this also causes a lot of other wildlife to be freed. As you exit the facility riding the direhorse, you will see your Ikran coming to you.
As you fly your Ikran, leaving the hostile area, you will get attacked by one of the raiders. This causes both So’lek and his Ikran to fall.
On the ground, So’lek tries to ease his Ikran, but the Mangkwan is on you. This is Rakx, and she is an Ikran killer, but So’lek will defend his Ikran with his last breath.
As Rakx tries to approach them, an arrow comes through, shaking her off, and So’lek looks stunned, like who would that be? To his surprise, this is an old friend of his called Nor, coming to help.
He asks So’lek to come ride his Ikran with him and end this Ikran killer raider. Together, you fly and pursue her.
This is where the Beast quest ends, and you will move on to the next one called the Fall.
The Fall Quest
Nor will focus on flying the Ikran while you need to defeat Rakx.
At the beginning, Rakx will be flying up front, and Nor will try to follow her. During this time, she will be constantly shooting missiles at you, and So’lek needs to use his guns to destroy them before they hit you.
Rakx will be moving constantly, and sometimes it will be hard for you to keep track of her.
This is where your Na’vi senses come in. By using them, you will be able to see where she is even if she is hiding behind the trees.
Sometimes Nor will also help direct So’lek to her location, and this time she will be behind. Your goal here is to constantly destroy the missiles and shoot her.
It might be hard to defeat a flying character, but make sure to use your slow motion while you aim to get a steady line of shots.
This is basically the fight where Rakx will be constantly changing positions from the front to the back to the side, and you know what needs to be done.
Second Phase Of The Fight
Eventually, a cutscene will come where Rakx’s Ikran close in and lift So’lek into the air, then throw him to the ground. Now So’lek is alone with multiple RDA enemies and Rakx to defeat.
During this section, Rakx will be using her assault rifle and will still be flying around. Make sure you use as much cover as possible since you are basically in the open here.
Rakx will not stop just here and will also continuously throw missiles at you, so just like before, shoot them before they impact and damage you.
Third Phase Of The Fight
After getting through half of Rakx’s health, her Ikran will start to get tired, and she will try to tame it again. So’lek here takes the chance to jump from the cliff and escape the RDA.
Luckily for him, Nor comes just in time to catch him. But now, multiple RDA ships are attacking, and you need to defeat them as quickly as possible.
Once So’lek destroys the first wave, a second wave will come, and you need to do the same. The easiest way to destroy these ships is by hitting their thrusters.
Rakx will come out as soon as you deal with all the other RDA, so be prepared. The strategy is still the same here: destroy the missiles, use slow motion to hit your shots, and try to survive.
Defeat Rakx
After you get through the last segment of Rakx’s health, the cutscene will start rolling where her Ikran loses balance. This is when Nor and So’lek charge at them and put them to the ground.
In an epic cinematic, So’lek delivers the final blow to her while trying to save the Ikran.
Rakx is dead, and her Ikran is suffering as So’lek approaches. So’lek feels terribly sad for the Ikran, as it is an innocent wildlife that has been used for bad purposes.
Given that So’lek wants to help the Ikran and he can clearly see that it is suffering, he decides to do the inevitable: release this Ikran from its suffering by giving it a peaceful death.
This makes So’lek sad, but deep inside he knows this is the right decision. Nor checks on Iley, So’lek’s Ikran, and says that she is fine.
The Ikran killer is dead, which means one less Mangkwan leader to deal with, but more are to come, of course.
Reunite With Your Ikran
After a long fight in the sky, So’lek gets back to his Ikran, and he is happy to see it fine. Na’vi are really close to their Ikran, so anything bad that happens to them affects them.
This will conclude the Fall quest, and we do not yet know what is waiting for So’lek next, not yet at least.
