Midway through the From the Ashes expansion, and after defeating Rakx, reuniting with his Ikran, and meeting his old friend Nor, So’lek is determined to gather as many allies as possible to help him during his search for the Sarentu.
He gets a radio call from Teylan, who mentions that he has a lead from a flight recorder that the RDA is chasing Aranahe and Sarentu Na’vi. Of course, So’lek does not waste any more time and goes directly to the camp there.

Family Ties Quest

The marker on the map is leading toward the north of Shadow Wood, so call your Ikran and make your way there. Here you will find a broken helicopter.
Investigate this wreckage, and then a cutscene will begin where Nor approaches you. So’lek will inform Nor about what Teylan has found so far.

During the conversation, Nor will be surprised to find out that there was another Sarentu survivor that he did not know about.
Naturally, he asks so many questions, but even So’lek does not have all the answers as he is still trying to figure all this out.
For that reason, Nor agrees to help So’lek, and as a first step, they need to investigate the nearby camp.
Investigate The Nearby Camp

The camp will be located near the huge tree, so make your way there. Here, there are three items that you need to interact with.
- The Sarentu totem is located at the bottom of the tree.
- The Aranahe Sleeping Nook, at the actual camp to the right.
- An RDA dead trooper on the second platform of the tree.

After you investigate all three items, you will learn that both the Aranahe and the Sarentu were fighting the RDA here in this camp.
Now, in order to know where they could have gone, you need to get to the top of the tree and use the vantage points there.
Unexpectedly, at the top of the tree, Nor sees what happened to their land from all the destroyed forest and burned trees, and he makes the comment to So’lek: how sad things have gone this far.

This conversation gets interrupted in the middle by a radio coming from one of the dead RDA. The caller mentions that they are in pursuit of the Na’vi.
This is your lead, and you need to progress forward to your objective marker.
Investigate The Field Lab

Make your way to the other side of the river and go through the burned forest. On the ground, you will see a car trail behind, so just keep following it. During the way, Nor and So’lek will have their conversation together.
Nor notices how So’lek has embraced himself in the human ways and uses their metal, aka their weapons and all.
To him, that is kind of a disregard for his Na’vi ways, but Nor is more of a traditional Na’vi and he embraces the Eywa way completely.

Eventually, you should reach a field lab that is destroyed. Here, while you investigate the remaining RDA storage crate and the lockers, you will suddenly hear a movement.
On your right, you will see a locked room, and the sound is coming from inside. You need to open this door, and the only way is through that panel.

However, the panel is inaccessible, but if you follow the yellow line on the ground, it should take you to the RDA electrical panel that you can sabotage.
Make sure you sabotage this and then go back to the door panel and interact with it. Doing so will unlock the door and you can go inside.
Find The Voice Source

To your surprise, you will find a wounded RDA officer there. The officer recognizes So’lek by his nickname as the Dog Tag Warrior, and they have a conversation.
So’lek is only trying to seek information about where the Na’vi went, but the officer refuses to say anything at first. So’lek confronts him that his life is meaningless because all that the RDA focuses on is killing the Na’vi and not his life.
Eventually, he realizes that he has no choice, and the officer mentions that the last time they were seen was in a cave system nearby.
After you conclude your conversation with the RDA officer, you will have a choice to finish him off or spare him, so do whatever you want. This will not affect how the mission goes, but will only slightly affect how Nor will react to you.
Search For The Sarentu In The Caves

With a new objective marker on the map showing you where you need to be, call your Ikran and fly your way there. You will reach a huge cave entrance; this is where you need to land and continue your journey on foot.
Nor will still complain about So’lek and the other Na’vi embracing the human ways and how it can be a sign of corruption and all, but So’lek is focused on finding his friends in any way possible that will grant him an advantage.
Enter the cave and follow the path to the left side. You will reach a blocked path by a rib plant, and you will need to find a way around it.
Unlock The Blocked Path

Simply dive into the water in the center of this section and swim to the other side. After you make it out of the way, you will see that the path up is unreachable, but there is a lift vine that you can use.
So’lek will ask Nor to shoot it in order for him to use it. This will take you directly to where the rib plant is. Simply interact with it, and you will unblock the way.

Continue your journey through the cave system until you reach a dead end, where you will fall into the waters on the ground floor. Here, you will be separated from Nor, and each will have to meet at their direction.
So’lek gets out of the water but finds a few RDA machine dogs nearby, so make sure to deal with them first. After you do that, there is another lift vine that you need to shoot for it to function.

Take the lift up and then progress forward, and you will be able to see Nor on the other side. After your short reunion, progress deeper into the cave until you meet Nor again.
Unblock The Gateway Lilly

Nor will mention that his side is blocked by a gateway lily and ask So’lek for help, but that is not the only problem. There is a Thanathor nearby, sleeping, that you need to sneak past.
If you’ve played the base game, you know how dangerous Thanathor are, so you need to play it safely here.

The most important thing here is to unlock the gateway lily for Nor, and there are three small lily flowers that you can either shoot or interact with.
In order to know where they are, it is simple. Go to the main blocked door, and from there, you should see vines getting separated. Each of these vines will lead you to one of the lilies that you can interact with to unblock the path.
Unlock The Ravines Region

After you’ve completed this step, you will be reunited with Nor and able to keep progressing. This will lead you to the outside of the cave and into another region, the Ravines.
There will be a camp to the right and a fresh fire there. You both suspect that it is the Sarentu and the Aranahe who have been here, but the place is huge.
Naturally, Nor suggests flying an Ikran to look, but you cannot use your Ikran in this region, so you will either have to do it on foot or in a different way.

After your conversation, you will see an interesting cutscene of your Sarentu friend in a cell, which seems to be in an RDA facility. Major Bukuwski is having a conversation with the Sarentu about what he has found so far.
To the Major’s surprise, Tamtey, the Sarentu, believes in his Na’vi friend and knows that So’lek and the others will come to save him. This shocks the Major and raises concerns and worries about him.
This is where the Family Ties quest will complete, and you and Nor will be separated temporarily. The next quest you will get is I See You.
I See You Quest

You unlocked a new part of the region, and all the clues have led that the Aranahe and the Sarentu have made it this far. So the only path is forward, and you press on.
So’lek and Nor investigate the Na’vi footprints along the way when all of a sudden they hear an explosion just nearby. Here, you see a Na’vi group fighting the RDA.
One particular enemy here is a sniper sitting on top of the rocks. So’lek tries to hide behind some rocks, but he finds himself surrounded by the RDA. He tries to defend himself. To his surprise, the sniper kills the first enemy that tries to attack him.
So’lek is surprised, then another RDA tries to attack him, and the sniper kills it again, saying that So’lek is hers as she wants to be the one to kill him.
The cutscene shows the face of the sniper, Zari, one of the three main Mangkwan Clan leaders.
Approach The Sniper Zari
After you take control of So’lek, you will need to find a way to reach Zari; however, you need to be extremely careful. This is because her sniper shots are deadly, and you need to use every cover you see to your advantage.
You need to make your way to the cave entrance to her right, so use the cover and slowly approach it. Once you are inside the cave, progress forward until you are almost near her.

This was a trap, and the floor gave way there, causing So’lek to fall. During this whole time, you will have Zari on your radio teasing you, but So’lek tries to keep his cool and ignore it.
From here, you need to keep pressing forward, but be mindful of the multiple mines on your path. You can use your Na’vi senses to spot them and then shoot them.
Zari will keep teasing So’lek through his radio, but just keep ignoring her and work your way to the end of this cave.
Once you make it outside the cave, you will see that Zari has changed position and is now sitting on top of a crane.
Defeat Zari

With no clear way on how to get to her, you contact Teylan and ask him if he has any suggestions for you. Teylan is familiar with the crane she is on top and he mentions that these were supposed to be demolished months ago.
This gives So’lek an idea that the charges will probably still be intact, and you can try and shootthem to destroy the crane and defeat Zari.
There are three charges in total that you need to shoot:

The first one is just in front of you on the right side of the crane, so make sure you take cover and shoot it. This will cause an explosion, and the whole crane will rotate.
This will reveal the position of the second charge as the crane rotates, which is located on the opposite side.
With two charges destroyed, there is one more that you need to shoot, however you cannot see it from here now.
Use the path to your east and follow it. This will lead you to a vantage point where you will be able to see the third charge, so simply shoot it with your bow.

This will cause the whole crane to fall and Zari with her. So’lek will go to check on Zari and make sure that she is done for. After their little chat, he takes her tag and leaves her behind.
Reunite With Nor And Rasi

Nor comes and congratulates So’lek on his victory, but Nor will be Nor as he complains about So’lek still holding onto human weapons to fight them with.
Nor has found Nor and tries to argue with her, but So’lek snaps out and asks Nor to show respect. This is probably not the reunion that they had wanted, but So’lek is gaining more allies, which will help him to save all the Sarentu.

Before the mission ends, you will see one last cutscene of Major Bukowski speaking with Wukula. The Major confronts Wukula that his sister killing the RDA is out of line and this should not happen again.
Of course, the Mangkwan is not afraid of humans, but after all, it seems that both have the same goals and they need to do it the “RDA way.”
We have no idea what that means, but it is definitely no good news. This is where the I See You quest ends.
