Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Beast of Reincarnation, covering Chapter 5: Branching Paths.
Emma proceeds to defeat another Nushi and absorb its power, and everything seems to be going according to plan.
At the Cleanse Walker, they set out to depart for their next zone, Matsukawa Zone, and continue in their mission.

At The Cleanse Walker

Emma finds herself awake at the Cleanse Walker, and Kagura is worried about her. They have a short conversation before Brad joins them.
Don’t forget to interact with Koo and Kagura, take a shower, check the Grow Chamber, and make some preparations by upgrading skills and weapons and spending your attribute points before resting for the day.

Emma once again wakes up in the middle of the night, and she and Brad have a conversation as they are making their way toward the next zone.
Progress Through The Matsukawa Zone

As you exit the Cleanse Walker, progress a bit ahead and you will see a giant cube floating around. This is the Matsukawa Zone, and you need to make your way there.

Brad mentions that he managed to pick up the Nushi signal, but it is coming from underneath the colony. Before you can reach it, however, you first need to find a way into the colony.

To do so, take a detour to the east side and go around the lake, which will eventually lead you to the colony’s entrance.
The beginning of the detour path requires you to use Emma’s hair and navigate between the collapsed buildings. At some point, you will be able to reach the ground and progress from there.
Head To The Matsukawa Zone

The path is pretty much self-explanatory, as you need to reach the entrance of the Matsukawa Zone northeast. Take your time, take it slowly, and explore around, defeating the enemies as you progress.
The only important thing to note here so you don’t miss it are the three shrines at the very north of the path. Other than that, it’s just normal loot that Koo will highlight for you.
Below, you will find a map location of all three of the shrines mentioned:

Eventually, you will reach the bridge leading to the Matsukawa Zone. However, the gate to the right is closed, and you need to find a way to open it.

Go to the end of the path and then take the elevator down. During the lift trip, Brad will give you a bit of history around the Matsukawa colony.
Reach The Inside

After you reach the interior, head toward the gate ahead, where you will be stopped by an elite enemy that you need to defeat.
Once that’s done, go inside and take another elevator that will take you to the lower level. Go through this level until you reach what looks like prison cells. You will find a bunch of leftover Malefacts inside.

In this room, you can grab a new weapon on the right side called Hazebringer. This is an Acid blade, and it can be useful against bosses that are weak to Acid.

Moving forward, you will find another elevator that will take you even deeper into the colony. Brad is still picking up signs of the Nushi underground, but we still haven’t found it yet.
After you arrive, head to the control room on the other side and interact with the control panel here. This will unlock the gate at the surface.

As soon as you try to go back, an alarm will be activated, and the lockdown will be deactivated. This will cause all research subjects to be released.
Soon after, you will hear a roar, which resembles a Nushi roar. Violet confirms that and asks Emma to prepare herself because it’s waiting for you at the top.
Defeat The Nushi Rangifer Anomaly

The Rangifer Anomaly retains the same attacks from its previous encounters, so the mechanics should already be familiar.
The main difference is that it is more aggressive, attacks more frequently, and mixes its attacks together differently. This time, it’s also weak to Lightning instead of Fire.
As before, parry Rangifer’s antler swipes to build FP, then use Koo’s Roots once you have four FP to bind it and create an opening for attacks.

Its ranged attacks, including the rock volleys and body spikes, can be avoided by moving to the side, while its charge can be blocked or parried by timing your defense as it raises its head near the end.
Be careful when Rangifer slams its head into the ground, as trees will erupt from the ground at the red warning markers. Keep moving around the arena until the attack ends. It can also leap into the air and crash down with its glowing hooves, which should simply be dodged.

When Rangifer surrounds itself with a red aura, back away from the boss and wait for its lengthy combo to finish, as the final slam is unblockable.
During the second phase, Rangifer can stop to recover its health. Use the trees that appear around the arena as grapple points to quickly close the distance and interrupt its healing.

Overall, the strategy remains the same, but the Rangifer Anomaly’s faster attack patterns leave you with less time to react.
Stay mobile, look for parry opportunities, use Koo’s Roots to create openings, and exploit its weakness to Lightning.
The Nushi Has Been Defeated

After you defeat the anomaly, Emma will absorb its powers and, of course, collapse to the floor.
The next cutscene showcases Emma meeting Violet in her own space. It seems that the more Nushi Emma absorbs, the more of Violet’s memories are beginning to return to her.

It still remains very hazy for Violet, and Emma doesn’t understand most of it. For now, they pursue their mission together.
Emma wakes up at the Cleanse Walker, and Kagura checks on her. To her surprise, Kagura asks her about who Violet is. This takes Emma by surprise, given no one knows about Violet, or at least Emma never mentioned her before.
Chapter 5 End

Another conversation between Brad and Kunai over the radio. Brad proceeds to explain to her what’s happened, how the colony there was making their own Nushis, their own “vessels.”
Kunai connects this with the return of Shambala, which we still have no idea what it is. Once again, they both mention telling Emma about what’s going on, but Brad is hesitating.
He suggests that maybe she needs to see it for herself and let her decide.

Before the chapter comes to an end, another conversation between Violet and the Beast takes place. They continue their conversation from before about how Violet caused him “despair.”
Apparently, Violet disappeared at some point without any trace. Somehow, this event determined its destiny. And somehow, he decided to entrust everything to Emma and Koo.
This still does not make the slightest sense to us at now, but the Beast proceeds to explain that both Emma and Koo’s purpose is only to be a vessel.
