Little Forest is the first area which you will explore in Big Hops. You will learn all of the basics here, including crouch jumps, swinging, diving, climbing, and most importantly, your tongue ability. The little frog wants to go on a big adventure, all this is where he gets a good start. Don’t miss out on coins or any collectable insects your way as well. Getting Started
The tutorial teaches you how to grab and eat first. Help yourself to any of the three dishes in front of you. Keep moving forward till you see a panel. Grab it with your tongue and pull to open it to reveal a mushroom. Jump over it to press onward. You will find another similar panel just a little further.
Head inside the tree trunk and use your tongue to hold the flying apples. Swing from one to the other till you land on a stone. You will find a lever nearby, so pull it.
Go forward, and you will see two platforms apart. You need to jump while pressing the front button, and then press the dive button to reach the other end. Go across two platforms similarly, and you will find a sandwich which you can eat to restore health. Pull the lever to reveal more platforms, which you will get through by diving as well.
You will find higher platforms now, and you need to do a crouch jump to get up. Go ahead, and you will find a flying apple. Swing and then glide. Drop into the larger area. If you pull flowers here, you can collect their petals. Go into the tunnel to catch a Milkweed Beetle.
Climbing Higher
Talk to your sister Lily to get a bracelet. Attempt to climb the large tree in front of you. Jump and climb on the wooden walls while you keep going higher. You need to dive to reach some walls here. On your way, you will find another mushroom tree and a long platform. Throw one of the mushrooms on the platform on the ground, and jump on it to get across. Pull the lever when you get to the top.
A mushroom tree will grow on a platform near your sister. Drop down below, but if you want to catch a Ladybug for your bug collection in Big Hops, climb on the rocky cliff near the platform. Pick one mushroom and throw it near your sister to climb a tall wall.
You will find a collectable Coin here, so grab it. Pick up a mushroom from the bush and throw it near the X mark near another wall. If you go forward, you will find some waterfalls and a lever across a wide gap. Drop below, and you will find a mushroom bush near the water. Grab one and place it near the wall leading to the lever. The water will fall, and you will drop into the Forest Shrine.
