Welcome to our walkthrough for the game, Blackwood.
Follow our Blackwood Act 1 walkthrough as you explore the opening chapter, uncover clues, and make your way through the story. We’ll guide you through the key moments and choices along the way.
Begin by escaping the sewers, solving the water-control puzzle, and fighting your way across the plaza to reach your car. After the opening cutscenes, head to the DVD store and complete the introductory chores, including cleaning, organizing DVDs, feeding the cat, and preparing breakfast. Purchase the requested Fist and Flames DVD for Ernesto, then explore the basement to train, modify weapons, and check Dark Mail for missions. Finally, open the first email from Littleboy42 to progress the main story.
Objectives
As the game starts, you wake up in the sewers.
Navigate through the tunnels and find a way out
It is a straightforward linear path. Just follow the path till you see a short sequence and turn right.
Play through the mandatory tutorial sections till you reach the end and vault over the steel gate. Move the shelf and go through the hole in the wall.
Find a way to stop the water flow
Keep moving to the right and go up the platform and through the door and into the control room.
Inspect the folder on the table to see the Level Sequence.
Check the sequence for Gate 6 and turn around. Go to the console with the switches and use the sequence – down, up, up, down, down on the switches to stop the water.
Go back out and turn to the right. Go through the now accessible tunnel. Turn left and take out the crocodile (?) in the water.
Go up the stairs and turn right and through the door. Climb up the ladder and you will spill out on to the street. Watch the cutscene play out. You will be ambushed here.
Get to your car across the plaza
Take cover behind the car on the right and make your way through the thugs.
You will learn how to do takedowns here as well. Move from cover to cover and utilize dive to slow down time as well to take better shots. Once the thugs are all down move north towards the arch. You will be ambushed here again.
Keep moving from cover to cover and shooting back. Going past the arch will trigger another cutscene. Now its time to learn close quarters combat.
Once you get to your car a final cutscene will trigger which will cut to the title screen. Follow through the next sequence of cutscenes till you reach the DVD store. Soon Monday for Week 1 will start.
Complete All Chores
You will see at the bottom left corner, money is being spent to sort out your expenditures. On the top right corer you will see the details about the DVD store.
Step into the closet and change your outfit. Step into the toilet and fix your face. Next, go the stove and prepare breakfast. Check the computer on the desk to see what you can purchase off the internet – DVDs for the store, weapons for your night job.
Once you step out of the apartment, the neighbor’s kid next door will ask Anton for a movie “Fist and Flames”. Go back in and order it from the computer downstairs. Head down to the store and open it and another cutscene will trigger. After it plays out and Tom leaves. The next bit is a tutorial on how to manage the store. To note, if you keep the store clean and keep the racks organized, you will have a higher Store Popularity rating. This means more clean cash income. You can also strengthen your relationship with Emily to increase your bonding with her.
Feed the Store Cat
On the side of the store counter is the cat’s bowl. Interact with it to feed the cat.
Next, clean this poster at the front of the store for one of the chores.
Organise the comic books on the side for another.
Use the mop on the right to clean up the mess for the third chore.
Next, clean up the dirt infront of the tshirt rack.
Straight ahead the rack has dust on it, clean it up for the final chore.
You can also rack the DVDs properly. Check your inventory for movie titles and fit them in the correct genre rack to have a neatly organized store. The covers and the titles should hint to what genre movie it is.
Acquire a DVD of Fist and Flames for Ernesto
Interact with the pc downstairs and buy the DVD from the DVD planet store.
Once you have the DVD, head upstairs and interact with the neighbor’s door to hand over the DVD to Ernesto. Go to the back and to the right for the basement. This is where Anton can train takedowns and modify his guns.
On the pc in the basement if you check your Dark Mail, you can find side missions for cash.
If you see Littleboy42 gives you main quests. So click on the first email from him to progress the story.
