Run your own bookshop in BookShop Simulator. There are many responsibilities you have as a bookstore manager. You can stock a variety of books and used books. Purchase enough shelves to accommodate them and increase your shop level to unlock more features and shop locations.

Set Up Your Shop
Grab the cardboard box outside and bring it inside your shop. Open it and place the bookshelf anywhere. Do the same with the counter.
To stock books, purchase licenses by opening BOOKS’N MORE from your tablet and the License tab. You can then purchase these from the Books tab. You will also find tabs for Used Books, Special Books, and Accessories, but to unlock them, complete specific requirements.
Your books will arrive outside, so just take them in and place them on shelves. You can then set the price for the books. You can raise them slightly above the market price, but not too much, or customers won’t buy them. Once everything is ready, turn on the lights and interact with the sign to open up your shop.
Check out customers using the cashier. They would either pay in cash or use a card. You may need to return their change if they paid you an extra amount. Pull the lever to check them out. The shop automatically closes at 8 pm. By flipping the sign, you can close it early if you wish.
Tip
Try placing shelves closer to each other using the snap function to utilize space efficiently. This layout will also help your store look more organized for easier restocking.
How To Purchase More Shelves
If you have done the previous steps, the shop Depot Max will unlock on your tablet. You can purchase more shelves here. More shelves and decorations will be unlocked after you reach more milestones.
By grabbing the paint can outside and interacting with any shelf, you can paint it to your desired color. You can place the paint can or any items that you use in your personal shelf inside the shop.
For used books, you will need to purchase a separate shelf. You can purchase a random box of used books, which will contain an assorted collection. You may even find legendary books or rare books inside. All of these are placed in their relevant shelf type. Throw all the empty cardboard boxes outside to avoid making a mess.
Tip
Keep a good variety of books depending on the number of shelves you have. Refill shelves before starting the day, so you can focus on running the store after opening the shop. Try purchasing three crates of each book, so you can restock quickly when needed.
How To Pay Bills And Hire Employees
More apps will be unlocked after some progress. Open the BILLPAY app and pay electricity and rent. Keep your money reserved for bills.
When you reach shop level 6, you can start hiring employees from the ZAP RECRUITER app. The shopkeepers will help you stock, check out, and even manage the shop. Click on the employee and assign them a task for them to start working.
For them to manage the shop, you will need to place a manager’s desk. They help you earn money while you are working at a different store.
Tip
Only hire as many employees as you can easily afford within your budget.
How To Expand Your Shop
To expand your shop, open the EXPANDY LAND app and purchase any available area. The walls will be bare, and you can paint them to match the rest of your shop using a paint can. You will also need to readjust all your shelves according to the new layout. You can also change the floor tiles.
After you increase your player’s level to ten, the Shop Locations app will have more locations. You can move out to other locations to set up a new store there. Storage room and more floors are unlocked as you keep expanding.
Tip
As you progress, more items will be unlocked in the shop; we recommend getting a handheld scanner for a large store to make the checkout process faster.
How To Get A Cat
Cats are unlocked at Shop Level 7 in Bookshop Simulator. You can get them using the BLEPMART. To take care of the pet, you can also purchase pet items from the same store.
How To Run A Cafe
After you reach player level 20, you can open a cafe inside your shop in Bookshop Simulator. Purchase a separate counter and shelves for your cafe. Add a coffee machine to make coffee.
You can also set up tables and chairs for them to eat. The menu includes a cream puff for starters, but more dishes are unlocked as you reach milestones.
You can store pastries in the storage shelves and take boxes from here to place on display counters. Customers will ask for dishes at the counter, and you will need to serve them yourself if you haven’t hired any employees.
Tip
We recommend making a lot of coffee before customers enter, so you can just grab it and serve. Set up at least three coffee machines. Also, keep your cafe area, seperate from the bookstore to avoid clutter.
How To Recommend Books
Purchase the customer service desk from the furniture store. Customers will ask for book recommendations here. You can close the recommendation desk if you don’t want any more customers there.
You can check their genre preferences by hovering over them. Check the genre of books from the bookstore in the app. Pick a book that matches from the shelf and hand it over to them.
Tip
Try to keep as many genres as possible; ideally aim for only one book per genre, so you can cater to a variety of tastes.
How To Give Flyers
You can advertise your store to other people using the Flyers Stand. You can get it at Depot Max. Grab a flyer from the stand and give it to people wandering outside your bookshop.
Not all of them will enter your store, but it’s a quick way to get more customers to increase your sales.
