Troll Forest, Part 1 (Captured Gnome)

Go up the path from the shore and up the vines that cover the ledge ahead. Go up a couple more vine-ledges and move on forwards until you reach a closed door. It’ll have an interaction icon on it, so interact with it to trigger a cutscene.

Next, in the first-person view, ‘find’ the crying gnome, who should already be close to the center of your screen and wearing their tall red hat. After the next cutscene, go back to the wheelbarrow full of mushroom-people and interact with it. Push the wheelbarrow forwards as far as it’ll go, and then stop interacting with it.

Climb on top of the wheelbarrow by jumping on it, and then jump onto the upper platform, where you’ll find an interaction prompt waiting for you to interact with it. Get back down after acquiring the stuffed toy and approach the gnome for the next cutscene.

Now return to the door that we couldn’t open before, and open it to proceed. Crouch to move through the doorframe. Now head to the right for the double-doors that are lit up on either side. Interact with the double doors and proceed through them.

Head towards the wooden bridge from here and cross the wooden bridge. Continue right and then south to find a fallen lantern. Jump off the ledge here. Proceed right past the creepy stone figures and cross the perilous chasm using the branch that’s bridging it. Head forwards and jump onto the vine.

Go as far as the vines will take you around the tree and then jump in the opposite direction to catch the vines on the next tree. Repeat this procedure – go as far as you can go with the vines and jump in the opposite direction. This time, you’ll land up on a cage.

Once the cage has lowered, jump to the left onto the next tree’s vines. This time, take the vines as far down as you can go, so that you can jump off the vines and onto the red mushroom. Jump off the mushroom and approach the trapped gnome.
