Welcome to the first part of our walkthrough for BrokenLore: Unfollow.
This walkthrough will cover the first chapter of the game and guide you through a house with a shifting environment and locked doors.

Exploring the House and Finding the Flashlight

The game starts with Anne waking up near the front door of a house. The lights are out. You’ll find a light behind you beside the door. Interact with it to turn on the lights.

Go forward and turn left to spot a painting with a missing piece. You can interact with it, but you’ll need to find the missing piece to solve the puzzle.

There are two doors on the ground floor. Go through the left door first. The lightswitch is inside the room on your left near the door.

Head inside the living room. You’ll find a Mini Anne Doll on the table near the window.

Head back outside and go in through the second door on the ground floor. This takes you to a corridor with four doors.
But all of them are locked apart from the one on the right. This leads down a set of stairs, but it’s too dark. You’ll need a flashlight to go downstairs.


Return to the front door and go up the stairs. There are two rooms to your left and one door to your right near another set of stairs. There’s also a lightswitch you can use.

Check each room. The first door on the left leads to a small laundry room. The second door on the left is locked for now.

The door near the stairs leads to a master bedroom. There’s a cat on the bed. You can interact with the cat to pet it.

Head inside the master bedroom and collect the note from the Printer. This is the Mother’s Note.

Go up the stairs to reach the top floor. There’s another door here, but it’s locked. This leads to the Attic.
Collect the Flashlight from the cabinet next to the Attic door. But to make it work, you have to find some Batteries.
Finding Flashlight Batteries

After picking up the Flashlight, head back downstairs to the bedroom floor. The last door on the left that was locked earlier will now be open. Head inside.

This brings you to Anne’s Bedroom. The Batteries for the Flashlight can be found on the computer desk. Pick it up.

You’ll also find a document (My Dream Weight) on the bed. Pick it up. Check the bookshelf, the computer, the framed picture, and the Old Camera on the desk before you head out.
The Bathroom

Now that you’ve got the Flashlight working, you can use it to head through the open door on the ground-floor corridor. This leads to the basement section of the home.

Head down the stairs, and you’ll spot another door at the bottom. But it’s locked.

With no way forward, go back to the corridor. The door at the other end of the corridor will open on its own. This leads to the bathroom.

Head inside and pick up the document (Summer Hell) from the rack near the window. Note that the bullies in the comic refer to Anne as the “Whale”. This is important.
Head towards the mirror and interact with the lightswitch. Then walk toward the door to get back to the corridor.

As you get near the door, it closes automatically. The lights go out, and you hear the voice of Grace, Anne’s best friend.

This will lead to a short cutscene. Once the cutscene ends, you’ll spot a red light coming in from the window. There’s a strange symbol on the wall near where you found the Summer Hell comic. Interact with it to find your first Elysium Symbol.

Open the bathroom door and return to the corridor outside. Note the bloodstain on the floor in front of the door to the basement.

All the doors in the corridor are locked again. After a while, you’ll hear the telephone ring. Interact with the telephone to receive a message from Grace. You can open the basement door after this.
Finding the Missing Painting Piece
Head down the stairs to the basement. The door at the bottom of the stairs will be unlocked now.

Go down another set of stairs and check the side of the crate for another Elysium Symbol.

The basement can feel like a maze, but the path is linear. Just continue walking forward. You’ll find a CD on a shelf as you make your way through the area.

You’ll find the missing piece of the painting on a table at the end of the path. Pick it up.
The Chase

As soon as you pick up the painting piece, you’ll see a figure wearing a black robe and a white mask on the other side of the fence.
This marks the beginning of a chase sequence. You need to escape the basement before the figure catches up to you. As long as you don’t get caught three times, you should be fine.

You can hide from the figure by crouching down. But it’s best to just sprint past it. Even if it attacks you once, you can get out of the basement before it manages to catch up to you if you don’t stop sprinting.
Run all the way back to the corridor where you came from. Once you get to the corridor, you’re safe. However, none of the doors open. You can even try flicking the lightswitch.

After a while, a tunnel opens up under the telephone set. Crawl through the tunnel to reach the other side.

This brings you to another part of the house. Continue moving forward. There’s not much to do here apart from just moving along toward the red glow.

As you get near the door with the red glow, the black-robed figure will come out. Run past it, through the open door, and continue moving till you reach a dark corridor with a door at the end.

This will trigger a short cutscene as the segment ends.
Finding the Attic Key

When Anne regains consciousness, you’ll find yourself back in the bathroom. There’s something strange in the toilet bowl. This is important, and we’ll come back to it later.

Open the bathroom door and go to the front door through the corridor. Head toward the painting and interact with it. Then choose the Piece of a Painting.

From here, go up the stairs and into the laundry room (up the stairs, first door on the left). You’ll see a new path up ahead.

Crouch under the wooden beam and keep moving forward. You’ll reach a narrow corridor with a TV and a speaker box on a desk. Interact with the TV to play a video.
Then pick up the key from the table. This is the Attic Key.

Work your way back to the door. You’ll spot an Elysium Symbol along the way.

Head to the top floor of the house and open the door. You can unlock it now that you’ve got the Attic Key.


Head through the door to find a room at the end. There’s a Paciugo stuffed animal on the piano and an Anne Gnome figure on a corner stool that you can inspect.

When you’re ready, inspect the photo on the cabinet. When you inspect it, you’ll hear Mother calling you to come down, saying that dinner is ready.
The Kitchen

Head to the bottom floor corridor. The door next to the bathroom that was locked earlier will automatically fly open. Head inside.

You’ll see a dinner table on the left. There’s a door on the right that leads to the kitchen area.

In the kitchen, you can inspect the photo of Anne in the trashbin.

There’s a pot of water on the stove on the left.

The fridge has a writing on it and is locked with a combination lock. Inspect the lock.

You’ll see the writing “Who is the Whale?” on the padlock. The answer to the question is the code that you need to put in.

The solution is in the Summer Hell comic you found in the bathroom. Arrange the codes to read ANNE, and the fridge will open.
Pick up the Milk – 70 Cal after opening the fridge.

Open the door on the other end of the kitchen. This leads to the Pantry. You’ll find Jun’s Cookbook on the shelf and a CD (Extra Item), but there’s nothing else to do here.

Head back towards the main door to trigger a cutscene. A monster will barge in and rest at the dinner table.
How to Feed the Monster
After the cutscene, inspect the note on the table in front of the monster. It’s a recipe for Heart Milk Spaghetti. You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 Heart
- Half a liter of milk
- Spaghetti with leftover meatballs
You’ve already got the Milk, so that’s covered.

You already spotted the Spaghetti in the toilet bowl earlier in the bathroom.

To find the Heart, head back to the corridor. You’ll see a trail of blood heading toward the entrance and up the stairs. Follow it.

The trail leads to the walk-in closet of the master bedroom. You’ll find the Heart on top of a pile of clothes in a laundry basket.

Once you’ve collected all the ingredients, return to the kitchen. Interact with the pot of water on the stove and add the ingredients in the order listed above.

Take the Heart Milk Spaghetti.

Return to the monster at the dinner table. Interact with the monster and use the Heart Milk Spaghetti. This will trigger another cutscene.
The Icy Cave

After a while, Anne finds herself in an icy cave. There’s nothing to do here. Just continue moving forward.

You’ll reach a furnished area up ahead. Answer the phone. Watch the cutscene play out.

Once it ends, continue moving forward through the cave. Another cutscene triggers as you make your way forward.

Keep heading through the cave. As you crawl through a crevice, you’ll see the path behind you close. Walk across the wooden platform and cross the bridge.

You’ll see a girl sitting on a rock up ahead. Head towards her to trigger the final cutscene and end the chapter.
