Bylina Walkthrough – Life, Death, And The Other Evils, The Thrice-Nine Kingdom & Cynocephalus Village

As this is a game that focuses on skill-based combat and is based on Slavic lore, there are going to be challenging enemies, bosses, and puzzles. So we will provide you with a walkthrough to assist you with those challenges. The walkthroughs of quests like Master Toadling, Brigand Camp, and Old Cave have already been published. So, here, in this guide, we will provide you with a walkthrough of the Life, Death, and the Other Evils, The Thrice-Nine Kingdom, and Cynocephalus Village quests in Bylina.

Bylina Walkthrough – Life, Death, And The Other Evils

As the conversation with the group is over, you will exit the cart, and Life, Death, And The Other Evils quest in Bylina will trigger. You will then get your first objective. Your objective will be to find Kodok and Vorosha. So, as you exit the cart, head right, and there will be a yellow circle along with someone with a question mark. Interact with both.

You will then have a conversation with an old man. Upon talking to him, you will trigger another quest, The Old Man and His Things. So after talking to him, go ahead and then head left. Once you do, a small cutscene will commence, and you will get a new objective.

Save The Scamp

You will not be able to interact with the strange stone for now, so ignore it. However, right in front of the stone is a place where you can get some loot. Climb across and loot everything, and then head to where you saw the boy running. Go ahead, and you will find a shroomy. From there, head right to trigger another short cutscene.

Head to the brigands who have surrounded the boy and defeat them. It is better to use the spear you received previously, as it has quite a lot of range and does a lot of damage. Once you defeat the enemies, more will spawn, so take care of them and then talk to the scamp.

After talking to him, your objective will update.

Find The Brigands’ Camp

After talking to the scamp, head back to where the stone is and then go to the camp opposite the stone. There are going to be some brigands there. Defeat them and then head to the gate. As you do, a conversation will be triggered, and when the conversation ends, interact with the severed head.

Find Kodok And Vorosha

After that, head back to where you found the snot-nosed kid, and then from there head right. Then follow the path to the south and stay on the right side. Then cross the two bridges and open the chest from the left side. After that, head to the other path, and a conversation with a brigand will be triggered.

You will then get to choose between two options. We chose the second option and slayed them all. If you do the same, it will not be a hard battle to win, so defeat them, loot the area, and keep going ahead. The path ahead will be divided, so choose the left one, and you will find the snot-nosed kid.

Talk to him, and then you will get the objective of following him.

Follow Snotnose And Talk To The Elder

Follow him, and he will take you as far as he can. Then a conversation will be triggered, so after talking to him, head straight up the path, and then a cutscene will commence. Once the cutscene ends, you will have to talk to the elder. After talking to him, you will get a new objective.

Kill The Bleached Creatures

After talking to the elder, head left up the path and then on the same path head down. After that, head left and go across the house. As you do, a small cutscene will be triggered. Go across the bridge, open the gate, defeat the enemies, and keep going to the north side.

There you will find an old man standing next to a very big eye.

Collect Honey At The Old Man’s Apiary

Interact with the chest right next to the old man for some loot and then continue ahead. Defeat some enemies, but be careful here. As you see the ground turn yellow, roll and get out of that zone. One of the enemies is doing that, so take care of it and then continue following the path.

Save The Girl

Head left and go up to the hand of the monster, and as you do, a cutscene will commence. Then head down and defeat the enemies to save the girl. When fighting these enemies, another creature will be throwing something on the ground, causing an AoE effect. Take care of that enemy first.

Now there is going to be another notable enemy who can be pretty annoying to deal with. That enemy can do a continuous spin attack, and when it does, stay out of its range, and it will fall. Then attack and take it down. Once you have defeated all of the enemies, the girl will come out, so talk to her.

After talking to her, collect honey from the left side and then head back to the top of the head. From there, head left and follow the path ahead. You will then reach the Somber Forest. Defeat the enemies inside and then collect the honey. This is the old man’s apiary, so collecting the honey will complete the objective.

There are going to be a lot of enemies, so be careful and defeat them first before collecting honey. Collect all of the honey from the area, and the objective will change.

Head Back To The Old Man

Head left from the apiary and then return to the old man and talk to him. After talking to him, you will get a Woodsmith’s Sword. Then your next objective will be to check the caves.

Check The Caves

The caves are going to be on the west side of the map. Head to the Somber Forest, and then the caves will be to the left. You can simply follow the red dotted line to get there. Along the way, you will need to fight some enemies, so take care of them. There are going to be a lot of them, so handle the enemies carefully, maintain your health, and then open the chest to get a new shield.

Then continue to the destination, and you will meet a Shroomy along the way. Stand next to it to heal yourself and then continue on your way. As you enter the cave, there will be a goblin. Talk to it, and the Supplier quest will be triggered. After the conversation, head down the cave and then go right.

Defeat the Enemies and Continue Ahead

Loot along the way, and you will encounter some enemies. Defeat them all, head right, and then head right again to defeat more enemies and find a chest. Open the chest, and then head in the opposite direction. Follow the path ahead, and eventually you will find more enemies.

Take care of them as well, and as you fight the first wave, more enemies will appear. Defeat the rest and then open the chest for additional loot. Note that among the enemies, there is going to be a creature that deals AoE damage, so prioritize taking that one down first. It will appear in the second wave, and there is also going to be a large enemy that appears at the very end.

It can knock you down as well, so be careful and keep your distance when needed. Once you have defeated all the enemies, follow the path ahead and defeat even more enemies.

Cross the Parkour Section

When you reach the parkour section, you need to be aware of the hands above. Jump to the left platform, and then immediately jump onto the other platform on the left. Then jump onto the one on the south side, and then again to the left platform. Finally, jump once more to successfully cross the parkour section.

After that, follow the path ahead and talk to the people standing right next to the two chests. After talking to them, the objective will update.

Find the Beast

There will also be Kuzya here, so talk to it to become stronger. Then open the chests to collect your loot and head to the right. Follow the path ahead, and you will eventually find the Beast.

Show Him What Bogatyr’s Might Is

Your next objective will be to defeat this beast. As it is ripping the corpse apart, start attacking it, since it will not deal any damage to you during that animation window. That is your opportunity to deal as much damage as possible. When it throws away the body, roll away immediately, as it will perform a very disgusting attack with a wide range.

Once that attack is over, attack it again using your skills. When you see the Ghoul getting into a position to attack, roll to its backside and then continue attacking. It also has a clap attack that deals AoE damage, so be very careful and avoid standing in front of it. In addition to that, this Ghoul can summon strange clumps on the ground that explode when it performs its next follow-up attack.

These are pretty much all of its attacks, so focus on reading its patterns and then defeating the boss. Once you defeat it, a portal will open, and a hand will grab both of you. With that, Life, Death, And The Other Evils quest in Bylina will be over, and you will reach a different location. Then, a new quest, The Thrice-Nine Kingdom, will commence.

Bylina Walkthrough – The Thrice-Nine Kingdom

As you find yourself in a different location, the Thrice-Nine Kingdom in Bylina, after fighting the ghoul, your first objective will be to talk to the Redcap Shroomie. Speak with the Shroomie, and in the middle of the conversation, a short cutscene will begin. After that, continue the conversation, and when it ends, be on your way forward.

Make Your Way To Koschei’s Castle

Your objective now is to make your way to Koschei’s Castle, which you already saw in the cutscene. The path to the castle was also revealed during that sequence. You unfortunately do not have access to a map for now, but since you have already seen the route, it should not be difficult to reach the castle.

The path is also quite straightforward. From the left side, move ahead and defeat the enemies. Once you have defeated them, follow the path forward, and you will come across a Shroomie. This is an evil shroomie, so instead of healing you, it will deal damage. So, continue going to the left side. Keep moving left, and you will soon reach the concrete road.

From there, you need to head right, but there are going to be some enemies you must defeat first. Take them down and then continue on your way. As you get closer to the castle, a short cutscene will begin, and more enemies will spawn.

Defeat All Enemies

There are going to be many enemies, and they will come from all directions. Because of this, we recommend using a sword to deal damage to multiple enemies at once. You can also use the first skill to damage nearly every enemy in range, as it performs a wide slash.

There are going to be some flying enemies as well, so leave them for last since you will need to use your bow to defeat them. Make sure to keep healing, because after you defeat all the enemies, another wave will spawn, and among them will be a mini-boss.

Defeat the normal enemies first and save the mini boss for last. At this point, we recommend switching to the spear, as it is better for single targets. Use the first skill to deal a massive blow, and when you see the enemy charging something red on the ground, run away, as it will perform a spinning attack.

Defeat it, and then you will have a conversation with the Wisp. After that, you will receive the map of the kingdom.

Run To The Hut

After the conversation, you will see a hut in the cutscene. You now need to head to that hut. This would have also appeared on your way to the castle, so return there and enter. The door will already be open, and inside you will see a yellow circle. Interact with it, and then you will have another conversation with the Wisp.

Loot everything inside the hut, and then you will need to head to Eldritch Castle.

As you exit the hut, you will have a conversation with Cynocephalus. This conversation will start the Cynocephalus Village quest. Before heading to the castle, it is a good idea to complete this quest first.

Cynocephalus Village In Bylina – Find The Cynocephalus Village

The location of the Cynocephalus village in Bylina will be marked on the map, so follow the red dotted line, and you will come across a Cynocephalus. Talk to him, and when the conversation ends, you will be tasked with defeating a ghoul. However, before that, head to the right to find the merchant.

Buy anything you need, and then talk to Kuzya for a permanent upgrade. Then open the gate and head to the marked location to fight the ghoul.

Rip Off The Ghoul’s Head In The Thrice-Nine Kingdom

Head to the location marked on the map, and you will encounter the Thrice-Nine Boogeyman. As the fight starts, this ghoul will summon arms that throw projectiles. These are easy to avoid, as you do not even need to roll, and can simply strafe them, but make sure to also watch out for the ghoul’s own attacks.

The ghoul can teleport behind you to attack. When it does, roll into the Boogeyman and then start attacking. The Boogeyman also has a double slash attack, and it can throw projectiles toward you by spinning. When that happens, roll backward and then roll inward, and then counterattack.

Since the arms it summons are quite annoying, you can also attack them directly. However, if you leave them alone, they will disappear shortly after. In this fight, we recommend using the spear, as it is a strong option for a one-on-one battle. The first skill also deals a significant amount of damage, so using the spear has clear advantages.

Once you have defeated the boss, open the chest to obtain the Sword of Weeping.

Return To The Cynocephalus

After defeating the boss and looting the chest, it is time to head back to the Cynocephalus. Talk to him, and the quest Cynocephalus Village in Bylina will be completed. After that, heading to the castle will complete The Thrice-Nine Kingdom quest, and a new quest will begin in Bylina. That part will be covered in the next walkthrough.
