Bylina Walkthrough – The Wondrous Eldritch Castle

Bylina is an action-adventure game where you embark on a journey set in Slavic folklore. This game relies a lot on combat, and the combat has skill-based mechanics. For more information, head over to its Steam page. There, you can also see what other people are talking about regarding this game.

A few of the quests have already been published, so now we will focus on some of the next ones. In the last walkthrough, we wrapped up The Thrice Nine Kingdom quest, so here in this guide, we will provide you with a thorough walkthrough of The Wondrous Eldritch Castle.

The Wondrous Eldritch Castle – Kill The Bleached Creatures

After you have returned to the castle, the Thrice Nine Kingdom quest will be over, and the Wondrous Eldritch Castle quest will begin in Bylina.

As you enter the castle, interact with the yellow circle and then head to the bleached creatures to defeat them. Once you have defeated them, you will get a new objective of going deeper.

Go Deeper

So keep heading to the right while looting the area. Do note that as you are going to the right, there is going to be a path where hands will be slamming down onto the ground.

There will be flesh on the ground, so if you keep running while avoiding the flesh, you should be safe from the slam attacks. Then, as the path to the north opens, head there, and ahead there will be an enemy. Upon going close to the enemy, more will spawn, so you now have to defeat them all.

Defeat the small ones first and then focus on the bigger ones. Once you have defeated them all, head up the stairs, and a short cutscene will commence. Then go ahead, and there will be some chests that you will not be able to open.

So instead, equip your bow and shoot the object on the left. It will be red, and there will be a finger pointing above it. Then shoot the one on the right, too, and you will be able to loot both of the chests.

Both chests contain solid loot, so make sure to open both of them, and once you do, head back and continue going to the right. Jump to the other side, go ahead a little, and then head north. Get on the boat, and it will start moving.

Once you reach a platform, step on the plate, and go ahead and stand on the platform ahead. It will then move you to the next platform. There will be some enemies, so take care of them and then head right. As you do, a cutscene will commence, and you will have to solve a puzzle to open the chest.

Collect The Magical Flowers

You now have to collect four magical flowers, so head right, and you will be attacked. There is a plant on the south side, so you need to hide behind it. Once you do, the attacks will hit the plant, and it will blow up.

Then head up the stairs, and while you are doing that, make sure to defeat the enemies. Use your bow to attack them as they are flying. Make sure to open the chest that will be right next to the stairs. Right next to the flower, there will be a poisonous flower. Pick that up and then head up, and you will find the locked chest.

Go to the left side, and there will be a yellow circle. Interact with that to kick the statue, and it will fall on top of the plant, causing it to explode. Now head to the right and go down the stairs.

There you will see a bluish barrel. Hit it and then run back. Upon hitting the barrel, a freeze effect will be activated and the poison on the ground will vanish. So, from the other side, head back to where the poison was and collect the poisonous flower.

Then head back up the stairs and go the other direction. Head down and pick up another poisonous flower from the right side. Then head south, and there will be a yellow circle. Interact with it to relieve yourself, and your character will pee on the flower.

The flower will then explode, so collect the poisonous flower and open the chest.

Offer The Tree Some Flowers

Now head to where the locked chest is, and there will be a yellow circle. Interact with that to offer the flowers to the tree. This will unlock the passage to the east, and you will now be able to open the chest, too.

So collect the coin, open the chest, and be on your way, as now you need to find a key.

Find A Key

The chest contains a new bow, which will be better than the one you currently have, so make sure to open it and then equip the new bow. After equipping the new bow, go through the passage that has been unlocked, and you will have to defeat some enemies.

Make quick work of them, and then ahead there will be a puzzle for you to solve. Simply pull the lever in the middle of the gate and then step on the pressure plate on the left side. Then shoot the object in front of you. Similarly, shoot the object on the right side by standing on the other pressure plate and then pulling the lever again.

After that, head right to open the chest, and you will get the key. Once you have obtained the key, you will get a new objective of lifting the barrier.

Lift The Barrier

The barrier can be lifted by interacting with the object right next to the chest. Interact with it, and then the path to the right will be unlocked, and you will get the objective of going deeper.

Go Deeper

Once you have lifted the barrier, head right down the stairs, and on the left side, there will be an enemy and Kuzya. Defeat the enemy and then interact with Kuzya. Select the first option to gain more health and might.

There is also a strange stone on the left side where you can play a game. If you lose, the stone will attack you, and you will lose some of your health. So to prevent that from happening, you will have to beat it in the game, but if you are not aware of the mechanics or are not sure how it works, it is best to ignore it and keep on the way.

Interact With The Strange Stone (Optional)

If you win, you will get to open the chest, and inside is Redcap Shroomies Sword, Shield, and a Wondrous Tinder. Regardless of your decision, head right and fight the enemies. There are going to be some flying ones, which can be really annoying as they do a lot of fire attacks. However, they also come close to you to do physical attacks, so if you do not like fighting with the bow, you do have an option of defeating them with your preferred melee weapon.

Once you have defeated the enemies, shoot both of the red objects to open the gate. Once the gate is opened, you will have to perform a little parkour to reach the other side. However, there are going to be some enemies that will slam on the platforms, so you will need to be quick.

Continue Going Deeper

Jump to the one in the front and then instantly jump to the left side, then to the right, and then to the left. Then jump on the remaining platforms in order, and you will easily reach the other side.

After you have reached the other side, head up the stairs and interact with the object to the right to open it. Defeat the enemies ahead and then step on three of the pressure plates to activate the platform.

Once the platform comes back, stand on it, and it will take you to the other side. There are going to be some more enemies there, so defeat them, loot the area, and then head up the stairs.

Once you are at the top, head right to find a chest, and then go left, and you will now have to press the pressure plates in order. Press the middle one first and then the first one. After that, press the last one, and the platform should appear for you.

Once you reach the other side, defeat the enemies and head to the left side. There will be a yellow circle you can interact with.

Find A Mouse For The Snake

Interacting with the yellow circle will not matter for now, as you need to get a mouse for the snake.

So head down the stairs and then go to the west side of the area. There will be a chest. Open it, and your objective will be updated.

Climb Into The Maw

Now that you have a mouse, head back to the yellow circle and interact with it. Upon interacting with it, the snake’s mouth will open, so interact with it to enter.

Go Deeper

Once you are inside, loot the area and then head right to shoot the two targets to open the gate. Go through the gate and then follow the path to the right. Loot along the way, and you will then come across Kuzya.

Talk to Kuzya to increase your health and might. There will also be a merchant right next to Kuzya, so buy anything you like. Then continue following the path ahead and stay on the right side, as you will eventually come across two giant snakes.

Then a conversation with the Wisp will be triggered. Now you need to find the left and right keys.

Find The Left Key

So head left and follow the path, and along the way, there will be a passage leading to the left. Head there and open the first gate to the left. Go ahead, defeat the enemies, head down the stairs, and you will now have to solve a puzzle.

Interact with the yellow circle, and you now have to make a snake. This should not be that difficult, so try out different routes, and you will be able to solve it without much problem.

Upon solving the puzzle, the door on the left side will open, so head there, and ahead there will be some blades that can one-shot you.

So now you will need to be careful and wait for the blade to be on the other side. You will learn how the blade moves, and you can move in safe spots without getting harmed that way. Now make your way to the quest marker while being careful.

Do not speed through this area, as you will most likely get caught in the attacks. There are a bunch of chests scattered around this area, so while getting them can take some time, it may be worth opening them. That said, if you do not care about more loot, head to the quest marker directly, and as you go down the stairs, you will have to fight some enemies.

Defeat them and then head right to update the objective.

Feed Rotten Meat To The Mouth

On the right side, there is a mouth you need to feed rotten meat, which can be found in the chest opposite to it. So open the chest and feed the mouth the rotten meat, and the platform will come toward you.

Collect The Key

Get on the platform, and it will take you to the other side. Then follow the path ahead, and there are going to be a lot of enemies. They will come in waves, so carefully defeat all of them, and the two chests will be unlocked.

Loot the chests, and in the middle of both of those chests will be the key. Now you need to find the right key.

Find The Right Key

Head right, open the gate, loot the area, head south, open the gate, follow the path to the right, open the gate on the south side, head down the stairs, interact with the yellow circles, keep going down, and eventually you will come across some enemies.

Defeat them and then head to the southeast side and continue on the way. Prevent getting hit by the traps and keep going. The stone that comes instantly towards you can be pretty easy to evade. Head near it and simply take a step back and wait for it to perform the action. Then, when it goes back, you can move ahead.

Then defeat the enemies and you will have to solve a puzzle. Press the pressure plates in this order: middle left, left, right, middle right. Pick up the potion, then head down the stairs, go right, interact with the yellow circle, and then summon the boat.

Then travel through the boat, and if you cannot find the way, try to go to the right side. Avoid the hand slams, and once you reach the place, get out of the boat and defeat the enemies. There are going to be many enemies, with one being a really unusual type.

It will be a ball-shaped enemy that can perform slam attacks. This enemy will have quite a lot of health, so using the spear against it is preferable, as that is better for single targets. Once you have defeated all of the enemies in the area, collect the key and also make sure to open every single chest in the area for extra loot.

Give The Key To The Obelisk

Now head to the left while looting along the path, and when you reach where the red snakes were, insert the keys in the statues ahead of the snakes. Then the snakes will leave the area, and both of the chests will be unlocked. Loot them and then head through the door.

Go up the stairs, and then a cutscene will commence.

Defeat Koschei

You will now be tasked with defeating Koschei, but you will not be able to even lay a finger on this boss, and you will be one-shot. Then you will be thrown back to the previous location you came from, and the quest, The Wondrous Eldritch Castle in Bylina, will be over. With that, the walkthrough of the quest also comes to an end.
