Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough guide for Carto. This is a puzzle-focused guide to complete the story and it does not cover extras or hidden collectibles.

Chapter 10

As usual, open up your map, locate the Story Chalet, and make your way inside.

After the conversation with the Storytender and Shianan, you’ll be free to explore the Chalet again. Head to the right from the room you’re in, to the room with the typewriter, and read the book in the bookcase to the lower-right.

With your new hint now in your inventory, you simply have to arrange the chalet map to match the hint scroll.

This is how to arrange the map (Note that the door to the bottom-left only appears after placing the rooms correctly):

Head to the bottom floor now and go to the far left, towards the mystery door that has appeared.

After the conversation, interact with the lever in the centre of the room to go down.

Once you leave the room, another sequence will follow. When you’re free to move again, enter the tree. Follow Shianan on the branch, and then when you enter the map screen, your objective will be spelled out for you: Connect all the pieces!

Here, you will go through all the areas of the game you have encountered, and you have to connect all the pieces on each map. This is a fairly simple puzzle – just pay attention to all the edges and connect them as you see fit.

Once all the pieces are connected into one big mass, you’ll see a “Complete Map” button prompt to proceed.

Here’s how we did it:

Once you’ve connected all the maps, a cutscene will follow. Talk to Shianan afterwards and bring up the map. Connect the final piece to your present piece.

This will conclude the final chapter of the game, as well as the game itself.
