Chapter 1 (Ball, Saucepan, Firewood)
We start Children of Silentown with a children’s game. Begin by interacting with the ball to pick it up. Then open your inventory (top-left of the screen) and use the ball with the kid asking you to pass the ball to him.
After the scene that follows, Lucy will return home with her mother. Here, you’ll have to help your mother make dinner. Talk to her to learn what you need to do.
First up, grab the saucepan. To do this, interact with the utensils hanging on the wall to the right of the front door.
Give the saucepan to Lucy’s mother, and you’ll be given your next objective: to put some wood in the fireplace.
Interact with the chest, and you’ll find that Lucy’s cat is blocking the chest. We’re going to need something to distract the cat, so go upstairs and then open the door to the right (which has a cat drawing pasted on it). Here, pick up the toy mouse lying on the floor and return to the main room downstairs. Now use the toy mouse on the cat Squinty and you’ll get both a musical note and access to the amazing chest ahead.
Open the chest to get firewood and then use the firewood from your inventory on the fireplace, which you’ll find to the right of Lucy’s mother. Talk to Lucy’s mother again to proceed.
