Chapter 3 (Mom’s Song)
Your first course of action in Chapter 3 should be to get the second song, which is Mom’s Song. To do this, go to the barn from the alley just to the right of the missing-persons board, and then proceed to the area behind the barn, where the hopscotch boxes are drawn.
Talk to the old woman in this area to learn the second song – Mom’s Song.
You can use this one on certain objects, so go ahead and use it on the hopscotch boxes in the same area. This will reveal a new kind of puzzle for you, which is quite tricky, but certainly doable.
Your goal in the Object Puzzles is to form a clear route from the “Entrance” tile to the “House” tiles. This first puzzle has only one house tile, but you may encounter more later. You can rotate the first square tile with the winding stem on the right of the screen. However, to rotate other tiles, you must first connect them to the first tile by using a gear. If you take the gear away, the tile will reset to its original position.
Solving these puzzles takes a good bit of trial and error, so go ahead and experiment. The puzzle will automatically end once you’ve formed a path to the end. Here’s a screenshot of how the puzzle should look when you’ve finished it:
