Cloudheim – Dustlanger Act 2 Walkthrough

Cloudheim

Welcome to our walkthrough of Act 2 of Dustlanger’s quest line in Cloudheim. In these dusty lands, you’ll have to awaken the sleeping god Vitikki with the help of Leif, a fellow Runari. For more information on Cloudheim, visit its official website here.

After you’ve brought the Spark of Dawn to Vitikki, Leif will tell you what your next task is. He tells you that there’s a dark magic keeping Vitikki trapped in her dream, and you’ll have to free her to wake her up.

The Dark Magic

After talking to Leif, you’ll have to destroy the source of Dark Magic at the Ancient Arena, and also defeat the four Dream Jailers in the Pale Expanse area.

First, you should head over to the Ancient Arena. The Arena is on top of a cliff, so you’ll have to find a way to get up there. Once you’re there, interact with the glyph on the ground.

After you interact with it, the glyph will divide into three parts and spread across the area. You’ll then have to find and touch each of these glyphs after defeating the enemies guarding them.

Destroying The Dark Magic Glyph

Since the arena is so high up, you can spot two parts of the glyph from here. Just approach the part of the glyph. You’ll notice that some of the enemies have a red key icon on them.

Defeat all the enemies with the key icon and then touch the part of the glyph to destroy it. After you’ve done so with two parts of the glyph, you’ll have to find the third one.

You can’t see the third part of the glyph from the arena. You’ll have to go down the cliff towards the east, and here you’ll encounter the last part of the enchantment.

After interacting with all the parts, you’ll have to return to the arena and interact with the altar to summon the Dark Channeler.

Fighting Against The Dark Channeler

The Dark Channeler is a flying boss enemy, and the only way to deal damage to it is to grab and pull it with your lasso. The boss becomes armored during attacks, so you can’t pull it then.

Wait for it to finish its attacks and then use the lasso to bring the boss to the ground, and then kick it away. Keep doing it twice or thrice until the boss recovers and armors itself again.

During the battle, the Dark Channeler will often cover itself in a bubble, summoning some other flying enemies. During this stage, the boss will continue to create rings in the arena, and you’ll have to jump over and walk under these rings to not being harmed by them.

Take care of the smaller enemies as soon as possible so you can resume fighting the boss. After you’ve defeated it, you’ll unlock the chest.

The Dream Jailers In The Pale Expanse

Pale Expanse is a large desert area on Dustlanger. You have to find four Dream Jailers here. These are mini bosses turned to stone.

Finding these Dream Jailers isn’t easy, but if you’re close to one, you’ll get a quest marker pointing towards it. Once you’ve found a Dream Jailer, it will be turned into stone.

Hit the stone a few times to free the Dream Jailer and defeat it. You’ll have to defeat all four of them to complete the objective.

One easy way to spot the Dream Jailer’s location is by the spikes on the ground. The Dream Jailers use spikes to attack, and you’ll find many of them thrust into the ground where they’ve been turned to stone.

If you’ve started from the Ancient Arena and entered Pale Expanse from there, you’ll find three Dream Jailers locations as you keep progressing towards the west. For the final Dream Jailer, you can find it near the gigantic tree, and near the Sylfstone to the south of the tree.

Returning To The Sleeping God

After defeating all the Dream Jailers and destroying the glyphs, you’ll have to return to Leif near the crater. Leif will ask you to go and poke the sleeping god.

If you do so, Vitikki will still refuse to wake up. Now, Leif has one more idea, and it’s the loudest one yet. You’ll have to ring the bells all over Dustlanger to awaken Vitikki.

Ringing The Bells

There are three locations with bells in total. First, head over to the Singing Sanctum. This is the first area you encountered after coming to Dustlanger. There will be three gigantic bells here. Ring them all and run.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to defeat the nearby enemies to complete the objective. You can ring the bells by jumping and attacking or kicking the bells. You can also look for nearby cannons that you can use to ring the bells.

The next location you have to go to is the Smoldering Plateau. There’s only one bell here, and it’s close to the Bazaar where you’ve already explored. You can also follow the quest marker to easily locate this bell.

For the final bell, you’ll have to head over to the Fort Grobb. Most of the enemies here will heal themselves immediately, and there’s a lot of artillery fire going on, but you just have to focus on the objective and ring the bell.

There’s a chest here near the bell. Fortunately, the enemies near the bell don’t regenerate health like the ones outside, so you can take them out until the chest becomes unlocked.

Awakenening Vitikki

After you’ve run all the bells, return to Vitikki, and as you approach her, she’ll awaken. Once the Fennec Fox sits up from the ground, you can talk to Leif about your next steps.

Leif will tell you that Vitikki is still weak, and there’s a lot you have to do before Vitikki is back to her regular strength.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the Dream Jailers?

The four Dream Jailers can be found in Pale Expanse. These enemies are turned into stone, and you’ll first have to attack their stone form a few times to free the Jailers to defeat them once and for all. You can find three of them by going west from the Ancient Arena, while the fourth one is near the large tree in the Pale Expanse.

How to ring the bells in Dustlanger?

In most cases, you can find a cannon nearby, and attacking the cannon will cause it to ring the bell. However, you can also easily jump and do a regular attack or a kick skill on the bell to ring it.

How to poke the Sleeping God in Dustlanger?

In some cases, the option to poke Vitikki won’t show up even after you’ve defeated all the Dream Jailers and the Dark Channeller. In that scenario, you’ll have to restart the game, and that usually fixes the issue. You can then approach the statue of the Fennec Fox near the Crater, and the option to poke her will come up on the screen.
