Cloudheim‘s Greenvor region has a lot of secrets to offer, and there’s a sinister power lurking here that is trying to suppress the forces of nature. You’ll have to work with Gryg, a fellow Runari, to help you figure out everything that has been going on inside this forest biome. For more information on Cloudheim, visit its official website here.
In Act 1, you had to prove to Gryg that you’ve got what it takes to help them out after clearing the Ancient Bog dungeon. Now, you’ll have to talk to them to find out what you have to do next.

Cleaning Up Greenvor
After clearing the Ancient Bog dungeon, you’ll have to talk to Gryg in the Ancestral Tree. Gryg will tell you about the several things that you have to do to restore power to the nature in Greenvor.
First, you have to obtain Frognir’s Flame, a token from Grimsladd, inside a dungeon called Smoldering Depths. After that, you can either choose to clean up the Grobbs or discover the three shrines leading to the Council of Ravens.
You’ll need Frognir’s Flame first to venture deep into the caverns to deal with a strange existence that has been trying to open a rift under Greenvor, so that will be your first step.

Smoldering Depths
The Smoldering Depths is a dungeon located shortly to the west of the Ancestral Tree. It will be locked when you approach it, and you’ll have to fight against the nearby enemies to unlock it.
Some of the areas in the dungeon are filled with magma, and you can throw the enemies into it to immediately defeat them.

As you progress, you’ll shortly find a frog’s statue with a locked chest in its mouth and a plate in front of its hands. You’ll have to activate three mechanisms in the area quickly to activate Frognir’s Flame.
Once you do so, approach the frog statue and interact with the flame. After you retrieve the flame, you’ll still have to escape the dungeon, so keep pressing on. There will be a lot more enemies in the sections ahead.
You’ll also encounter a Sentinel Boss here, and then, after you’ve defeated everyone and finally escaped from the dungeon, you’ll have to find the Dark Pond.

The Dark Pond
The Dark Pond is an area in Greenvor, and you’ll have to arrive here to continue the Secrets in the Dark quest. Once you’ve entered the area, you’ll have to find and defeat the Dark Guardian.
You’ll find the Dark Guardian near the waterfall area in the Dark Pond. The Dark Guardian is a Stumpy enemy, and you’ll have to defeat it first to unlock the path to the depths of Greenvor.

You can spot the locked gate during your battle against the Dark Guardian, and once the battle is over and you’ve emerged victorious, you’ll have to find the hidden entrance.
The hidden entrance is the gate that was locked during battle, but you’ll have to use your attacks on it to break it down and open a path.

The Shade Warden And The Rift
The underground path isn’t that deep. You’ll just have to keep going ahead until you reach the depths, where you’ll encounter the Shade Warden.
The boss is performing a ritual to open the rift, and you’ll have to defeat it first. Shade Warden is slightly different from the bosses you’ve faced so far, and the attacks it uses cover a wide area with gaps in between where you can squeeze in to avoid the attack.

You can also jump over its wave attacks. Try to lock the boss in with your lasso and unleash devastating combos to bring it down quickly.
After the boss is defeated, interact with the ritual in the area and destroy it to completely close down the rift.

Grobb Society
The next thing you should do is head over to the Salty Spire Stronghold, where the Grobbs are multiplying. Here, you have three primary tasks. You will have to destroy 6 mortars, defeat 75 Grobbs in the area, and defeat the Grobb leader.
If you’re having trouble finding mortars, you should try to head into the area, and the game will automatically show a marker on any nearby mortars.

You’ll have to use your attacks several times to destroy the mortars, but if you’ve got any explosive skills, then that would take care of it much more quickly.
After destroying the mortars, keep fighting against the enemies in the region until you’ve defeated at least 75 of them. Even smaller enemies, like the Greebles, count towards quest progression.

After you’ve done and defeated the required number of enemies, only the Grobb Leader remains. You’ll find the leader in one of the towers. Here, you’ll have to be mindful of not getting knocked out of the tower because you’ll have to get back all the way up to continue the battle.
Fortunately, the battle against the leader isn’t as difficult as you’ve faced countless Grobb bosses by now. After you’ve defeated the Grobbs, only the Council of Raven quests remain, and those will be completed in Act 3.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Greenvor quests independent of each other?
Yes, Greenvor quests that are assigned by Gryg after you’ve completed their trial can be completed in any order. However, it is best to do the Council of Raven quest last, as it takes the most time compared to Salty Spire Stronghold and Secrets in the Dark quests.
How to close the Rift in Secrets in the Dark quest?
You can destroy the rift by interacting with the effigies near the Shade Warden. Your Runari will use Frognir’s Flame to destroy these effigies, and it’s best to do so after defeating the Shade Warden. Once you’ve destroyed them, the quest will be marked as completed.
Where is the Smoldering Depths dungeon?
The Smoldering Depths is a small dungeon that can be found west of the Ancestral Tree. It’s high above on a mountain, so you’ll have to jump around to get to it. You’ll also have to defeat the enemies outside of the dungeon to unlock it before you’re able to enter it.
