Opening Cutscene

Code Vein 2

After you click on New Game, you will see an opening cutscene of a young girl narrating the Resurgence disaster and how it ravaged the world by corrupting it. The Revenant had managed to find a way to seal the Resurgence.

But that did not last long, and the seal weakened, which led to another battle for the Revenants to help restore it. However, that did not work, but they came up with a clever way to hold the Resurgence.

Four brave Revenants managed to reseal the Resurgence in a shell that hangs in the sky like a moon and sacrificed themselves for this cause. However, the Revenant spirits are being drained, and we don’t know how much longer it will remain that way.

Code Vein 2

The little girl is Lou, and she is telling the story of the Battle of Upheaval to her friends in the room. A tall woman comes inside and tells Lou that it’s time, and she stands and follows her.

This is where you reach the screen for customizing your character before starting your journey. Take the time to unleash your creativity and make your character ready to begin the journey of Code Vein 2.

Waking Up From Your Slumber

Code Vein 2

After you finish your character customization, Lou will try to wake you up. You slowly open your eyes and see Lou lying there next to you. Your memories are fading, and Lou introduces herself to you as a Revenant.

She mentions that you died once, and she used half of her heart in a ritual to resurrect you. This ritual has caused both of you to share the same heart. All of this comes as a shock to you, and you just sit there, trying to take it all in.

Follow Lou’s Instructions

Code Vein 2

Lou asks you to follow her so you can meet someone important. Once you gain control of your character, you need to follow Lou. Take the stairs up and then head inside the elevator.

Meet Lady Lavinia

Code Vein 2

After you take the elevator up, head outside and go to the tower uphill. Along the way, you will find some yellow items on the ground; these are ingredient items that you can pick up.

Code Vein 2

At the entrance of the tower, you will be able to see a statue in the middle. Approach it, and Lou will explain that these two were Revenants and tell their story.

After she finishes, make your way to the upper floor of the tower and then take the elevator. This will take you to the rooftop.

Code Vein 2

At the top, you will find the same tall lady from earlier waiting for both of you. This is Lavinia Voda, and she is overseeing the Resurgence seal, carrying on the great Iris mission and legacy, and telling you that your purpose is to save the world.

After introducing her, approach her and talk to her. Lavinia will tell the story about the strange round object you see in the sky, which is basically the same as in the opening cutscene.

During the conversation, you will learn that the seals holding the Resurgence are powerful, and you need to unlock them to get rid of the Resurgence once and for all. However, no one knows any way to do so, at least not in the present time.

Travel To The Past

Code Vein 2

Lou takes a step back and begins using her half heart to create a portal. This portal will allow you to travel back in time, as Lady Lavinia believes the solution is hidden in the past, and you need to discover what it is.

Although she opened the portal, Lou’s power is not full, and you need to help her recover her full potential and master time travel.

Code Vein 2

Your character slowly approaches Lou as her arms open, and they hug each other. This will send both of you to the past.

Lou reassures you that you are both on MagMell Island, only now in the past. However, you find yourself inside a strange cave that you need to get out of.

Mastering Control Of Time

Code Vein 2

Out of nowhere, Lou falls because her powers are not full yet, and your character tries to help her. Suddenly, you are attacked by some raiders, and one of them rushes to strike you.

A stranger comes and blocks the attack, asking you to get ready to deal with these raiders. This is going to be your first fight, so take the chance to familiarize yourself with the combat.

Code Vein 2

After the fight finishes, the stranger turns to you and asks who you are. With your memories fading, you have no idea what to tell him. At first, he doesn’t believe you, but eventually he just asks you to tag along as he searches for his friend.

Escape The Cave

Code Vein 2

With the help of Noah, you will be able to explore the cave and reach the outside.

This is where you will receive a bunch of tutorial tips on how things work in the game, such as combat, ichor, LP, link traits, partners, and more, so be sure to pay attention.

There is one path to follow, and along the way, you can pick up the glowy mushrooms. There will be a few enemies the further you progress into the cave, but they are fairly easy to fight and provide a good way to practice combat.

When you come across a ladder, take it down, and you will find a Mistle in front of you. Mistles act as checkpoints where you can regenerate your HP, LP, ichor, and healing items, but they also revive enemies.

Mistles can also be used to level up your character, customize weapons, duplicate formae, upgrade your healing regeneration, and access a few more options.

After you interact with this particular Mistle, you will be sent to a unique safe spot where you and Lou can speak together. Lou will go over the objective here and remind you that she needs to perfect traveling back in time.

The solution to this is a formae that can be found in the MagMell tower, and you can use Noah’s help to reach it.

Back in the real world, you need to continue progressing forward into the cave and defeat the enemies along the way. There is one straightforward path to follow.

Meet Valentin

Eventually, you will reach a room where a cutscene will play. You will see a man with glasses holding a coin from the ground and admiring it, but he will be stabbed from behind.

Of course, this does nothing to him, and he acts very calm. The raiders are confused as to why it is not working, and you and Noah will show up.

Both of you deal with the raiders quickly, and it turns out that this is Noah’s friend he has been looking for. Valentin introduces himself to you, thanks you for your help, and for tagging along with Noah.

After this conversation, you and Noah are supposed to go to MagMell, and Valentin will tag along. With that done, exit the room, and you will find an elevator there. Take it back up, and then open the door in front of you.

Here you will find a strange creature called a map jammer. As the name suggests, this creature hides the map of the location so you won’t see which routes are available, so you need to kill them whenever you find them to avoid missing any turns.

On the left, there will be another elevator you can take, and this one will take you back out to the island. Interact with the Mistle and the entrance, and you’ll be able to explore the island and make your way to MagMell.

Explore MagMell Island

Note
You might come across some sealed dungeons that you won’t be able to explore, and that’s fine. You can come back to them later during the story missions.

MagMell is where you need to go, and it is located at the very north of the island. But you don’t want to go there directly, as you can explore the surroundings before making your way there.

Cross the bridge and defeat the enemies along the way, then make your way up the hill. Just before you reach the gate where the Mistle is, you will find a plant that you can interact with. Do so and obtain Golden Nectar.

This item can be used to increase the number of Regeneration items you can use during combat, but you need a Mistle to use the Nectar.

Luckily, the Mistle is just up ahead, so go there and select the Enhance Regeneration option, then choose the option to the right. Now you will have four Regeneration items to use during combat.

Explore The East Of The Island

If you go east to the shore, you should be able to spot a tower. Make your way there and go inside. You will find what looks like a cat statue.

Pick it up, and you will get the Golden Blood Bead. Unlike the Golden Nectar, this one can be used to enhance the healing of your Regeneration.

Southeast of the tower, you will see a forma beast roaming around. While you can actually kill it, you need to be extremely careful, as it hits hard.

The trick here is that the outer shield blocks most damage, so even if you hit it, you will barely reduce its health.

What you need to do is wait until it exposes the golden statue inside and hit it; this is its weak spot. When you defeat it, it should drop one of its parts.

To the far east, you will come across more loot to pick up and a bunch of enemies to defeat, but more importantly, you will see a red gem floating that you can interact with.

This is a regional Pathos, and when you interact with it, you get a blessing that only works in that specific region.

For example, this one is called the Savant, and it increases your max LP and ichor boost. You can benefit from its blessing only while you are on MagMell Island.

Just opposite it, you will find a golden glowing item that you can pick up. You will obtain the Rising Twirl weapon forma.

Explore The West Of The Island

If you make your way west of the island to the docks, you will find a Mistle nearby, but there is a strange character you can interact with just to the left.

This is Jadwiga’s minion, and during your travels, you will be finding them a lot. They act as a merchant where you can buy and sell items.

You will also spot a big enemy walking by the shore here that you can defeat. Its attacks are slow, so you should have an easy time predicting them and defeating it.

From here, keep following the shore north until you come across another Golden Nectar and pick it up.

Note
Don’t forget to activate the Mistle by the docks so you can use it.

Reach MagWell Forma Institute

Code Vein 2

After you’ve explored what the island has to offer, you can make your way to MagMell Institute in the very north. Take the elevator down, and you will find new allies here.

As soon as you enter with Noah, you will be surprised to find Valentin has already arrived and is giving a briefing to his team to make them aware of the situation.

This institute acts as a hub area where you can rest, buy items, upgrade your equipment, and more. Your goal here is to speak to Valentin, but you can take a couple of minutes to explore the surroundings and get some free loot.

Code Vein 2

To the right, you will find the Tool Shop, where you can restock on ammo and buy utilities.

On the left side, you will find the Weapon Shop, where you can buy new weapons to try.

Code Vein 2

Go up the stairs on the right side, then enter the room on the upper floor. Inside that room is the Gift Shop, where you can exchange items for trading points and use them to buy items.

Code Vein 2

From here, take the stairs down, and you will find two shops for upgrading and tuning both your weapons and forma.

From here, go west, then take the stairs up to the right. To your left in this room, you will be able to alter or change your character’s appearance if needed.

Code Vein 2

The last room to explore is the hot spring. If you take the stairs down to the right, you will be able to reach it and relax.

By simply relaxing there, there is a chance your character can obtain recipes for items to synthesize.

Code Vein 2

After you finish exploring, you can go back to the main room and approach Valentin’s office to talk to him.
