Welcome to the second part of our walkthrough for Constance.
After reaching Janky Junction and saving the town from the robot attack, Mayor Neolardo asked us to find a Tear to help fix the train that can get us home. In this part, we’ll be making our way through the Floral Foundry and the Foundry Citadel and face off against two major bosses in the game.
For more information about the game, check out their official website here.
Table of contents
Meeting Robert & Unlocking The Snapshot Mechanic

From the Janky Junction, head left across the upper section to reach the entrance to Floral Foundry. Dash through the thorns and defeat the enemies on the other side.

Go left, jump across the platform, and enter the next zone through the opening above you.

Go left first to find a couple of Glimmer Flowers. Then head right to run into Robert. He’s a roaming photographer, and he hands you a camera. Now you can press the corresponding button to take a Snapshot of an area.

That way, you can check your map and see a Snapshot of the area to see if you’ve left something behind. This is an excellent feature that can help keep track of any collectibles that you can’t reach at the moment.
You’ll also see some Lightstone hanging on the ceiling. But you can’t reach it for now. So head right, to the next room.
Unlocking Paint Stab (Brush Technique)

You’ll see a locked door on the right side of the room. There are two yellow switches nearby. But you don’t have the right tool to activate them.

So make your way up. Don’t touch the black cube rolling around the platform, or you’ll get electrocuted. For now, just carefully make your way up without getting hit by these cubes.

Head left at the top. Ignore the chest at the upper platform for now.

Jump over the crates and you’ll see another Canvas. The idea is the same as before; stand in front of it and press the proper button to unlock the Paint Stab, your second Brush Technique of the game.

Paint Stab works as a secondary attack that also deactivates those glowing black corruption pillars you saw earlier. It also lets you activate the yellow switches to open locked doors.
Reaching the Floral Foundry Resting Point & Elevator

Head left and break the corruption pillar using your newfound ability. Run through it quickly before the pillar appears again.

Drop down and head right. You’ll have to pass two more pillars next. Then jump and use Paint Stab downwards to clear the corruption and run past before it reappears.

Next, you’ll see two more of those rolling cubes. You can use Paint Stab to get rid of the corruption and then attack the enemy directly to destroy it.

Jump on the hanging platform and hit the yellow switch with your Paint Stab. Then jump up and head right to return to the previous room.

You can now access the chest that was behind the corruption pillar. This will give you a Heart Piece. Collect two more of these to increase your maximum health.

Make your way back to the bottom section of the room. Hit the two switches in quick succession: first the bottom one, then the one above you. The door will unlock, and you can head through.

Make your way past the rotating spikes using Paint Dive to the right.

In the next room, you’ll find the Resting Point and the Elevator right next to it.

Speak to the Elevator robot (this one’s called Earl) and he’ll tell you that it’s not working because of faulty pipes connecting the machinery. This gives you your next set of objectives.
Fixing the Eastern Pipe

Jump up to the second platform on the right and wait for a moving platform in the center of the room. Jump to it when it comes down.

Ride it all the way to the top. The path on the left is blocked for now. So head right, using the platforms, and follow the path to reach the next section.

Dash under the cog and fight two more enemies up ahead. Use the hanging crates to jump on the wall on the right.

From here, you need to jump, use Paint Stab downwards, and dash to the hanging crates. Then use the hanging crate to jump and dash to the right before the Corruption comes back. Take the path heading up.

You’ll have to use Paint Stab to clear some Corruption pillars next. Keep heading up through the room.

You’ll face a flying enemy on the upper floor. Take it down and keep heading right. The path on the left is blocked for now.

This will take you to a short parkour section where you need to keep moving forward while avoiding the Corruption. You’ll have to use Paint Stab to clear them or avoid them as you go. At the lower section of the room, you’ll find an exit going right.

You’ll next encounter an enemy holding a shield in front of it. To take it down, you’ll either have to hit it from its back or jump and use Paint Stab downward.

Go up and jump on the platforms. There’s a secret passage here that you can Paint Dive through. You’ll find a chest inside that gives you three extra Snapshots to use.

Keep ascending through the room, defeating the enemies and avoiding the hazards as you go. After reaching the top and defeating the enemies, you’ll find a path heading right. This leads to the first of Quip’s Cousins for the side quest you picked up earlier. This is optional, and you don’t have to rescue him for the main story.
How to Rescue Quip’s Cousin, Quap (Optional)

As you enter the room on the right, you’ll reach an outside area. There are two moving platforms that you can see.

Use the platforms to jump across and jump and Paint Dive to the floating crates on the right. You’ll find Quip’s Cousin, Quap, standing there. Talk to him to send him back to the town.

Go up the platforms and you’ll find three switches. They open the locked door on the left. Hit them quickly from right to left to unlock the door.

Cross the Corruption area in the next room by jumping across the platforms.

You’ll reach a section with rotating platforms. Jump down and defeat the enemy in the room. Then use the platforms to carefully make your way across.

You’ll unlock the Tax Refund Inspiration in the first room past the rotating platforms.

For the next obstacle, you’ll want to jump on the platform when it reaches your side. Then quickly jump and Paint Dive to the right as the platform moves past the spikes. You don’t have to use Paint Stab for this section.

Jump to the floor on the right and hit the lever to open the door. Head through.

Defeat the enemy in the next room and head up.

You’ll see a path on the right. This leads to the room where you can rescue Quip’s Cousin. Head left instead.

Make your way across the obstacle section using the abilities at your disposal.

You’ll enter another large room with a rotating platform. Ignore the platform for now and make your way downwards. There are plenty of enemies here, so you need to be careful.

You’ll find a large health pot on the bottom floor that you can use to restore your health. Head right afterward.

Hit the lever to unlock a shortcut to a previous room. But as soon as you do so, the floor under you breaks, and you get sent to your first boss battle of the game.
How to Beat Cubicus, Recycler of Realms

Cubicus, Recycler of Realms, is the first real boss battle in Constance. It’s basically a cube that rolls around the arena trying to damage you. But its movement pattern is pretty simple, and once you learn it, you can dodge most, if not all, of its attacks.
Focus only on dodging and jumping over the boss as it frantically moves around the room.

When the boss disappears from the screen, you need to look at the steel beam to know where it will land. Once it does so, rubble will fall from the ceiling, which you’ll have to dodge.

After this attack, the boss will be stunned for a few seconds. This is your main opening to attack. Keep hitting the boss right in its face; otherwise, it won’t take damage. You should be able to take its health down to about half before it recovers.

When its health drops to half, it will turn corrupted. However, it doesn’t gain any new moveset. Simply focus on dodging its attacks and let it get stunned again.

Afterward, use Paint Stab to get rid of the Corruption and keep hitting it. It should go down.

After defeating the boss, break the chest for some Lightstone and Gimmers and head left.

Use Paint Stab to fill up the bar on the pipe. The barrier on the ground will open, and you can head down. You’ve fixed the eastern pipe. But the job is far from finished.
Drop down the hole and head left to return to the room with the Elevator.
Fixing the Western Pipe

From the Elevator room, head to the top platform. Then jump and Paint Dive to the left to spot a hidden area with some Lightstones.

Drop down to the lower floor. The path on the left is now open. Head through it.

In the next room, you’ll have to go forward while avoiding some Corruption blobs. The idea is the same as before; don’t get hit and use Paint Stab to remove them if needed.

The main exit is at the top-left corner of the room. But there’s a hidden passage on the right that you can reach by paint diving under a wall. You’ll find some Lightstones here.

Defeat the shield-weilding enemy in the next room and start ascending. Remove the Corruption blobs to progress. Head all the way to the top and go right. Move to the next room through the opening at the top.

Continue through the room and you’ll find a door with three yellow switches. Hit them in the order shown in the image above to unlock the door on the left. Head inside.

This takes you to an optional outside area. Make your way through the obstacles using the moving platform to find another Paint Flask.

After picking up the Paint Flask, go up and hit the lever to loop back inside to the upper level.

In the next room, the open path heading down leads to the room where you unlocked the door with the yellow switches. Head past it. Defeat the enemy up ahead and go up.

Continue making your way forward, avoiding the hazards to reach the next exit at the top-right. You’ll have to find another enemy at the top floor.

In the next room, you’ll face a new type of enemy that tosses hammers at you from a distance. After four hammers, the enemy crouches down and you can’t hit them for a few seconds until they reappear. They can be annoying, so take them down quickly.

Keep heading down past the enemies and the obstacles. Keep an eye on the right-side wall for a small opening that you can Paint Dive through.

This leads to a hidden area with some Glimmer Flowers. After collecting those, you can get back to the main path through the bottom. Paint Dive through and go left to find the exit to the next room.

As soon as you enter, you’ll spot a Heart Piece on the left. But you can’t reach that for now. So take a Snapshot so you remember this spot later on.

Go down and deal with all the enemies on the floor. Then head left and keep descending.

You’ll find a lever on the left that you can activate to open a door. This opens a shortcut to an earlier room.

Go right to fight a few more enemies. Then drop down at the end of the path to reach the next room.

Keep heading left, and you’ll reach a chamber with two falling Corruption blobs. Step into the middle of the room to trigger a gauntlet.

After defeating the waves of enemies, head left to find the next pipe. Like before, use your Paint Stab to fill up the bar. Then drop down and make your way back to the Elevator room.
Arriving at Foundry Citadel

Make sure you rest up before you talk to the Elevator robot. He’ll tell you that the Elevator is now functional. You can now use it to travel to all unlocked Elevators.

For now, you have three options: Janky Junction, Floral Foundry, & Foundry Citadel. Choose Foundry Citadel for now.

Talk to Merle, the Elevator robot in Foundry Citadel. You can see Lady Clara on the other side of the wall on the left, but she can’t hear you.

Head right to trigger the second boss battle of the game.
How to Beat Brian

The fight against Brian is more of an obstacle challenge than a boss battle. He’ll keep filling up the arena with Corruption blobs that you’ll have to avoid.

If a Corruption blob is impossible to avoid, use Paint Stab to eliminate it.

Brian also has an attack where he locks in on you for a few seconds and then strikes the area with lightning. Wait for the target to lock on and quickly Paint Dive to a side to dodge the attack.

During this attack, some of the switches around the boss will light up. Hit them using your Paint Stab. If you hit all switches, the boss will get stunned and drop down. This is your moment to attack.

When the boss recovers, he’ll fill the arena with lightning. Make sure you’re standing in the area where lightning isn’t striking.

Brian can also summon minions to the fight to attack you. Thankfully, the boss doesn’t attack you at the same time, so you can take them down easily.

Keep avoiding the hazards, using the switches to stun the boss, and attacking as much as possible when he’s down. Eventually, Brian will be defeated, leaving behind a Tear.

This will trigger a sequence of real-world events. Just keep following the prompts to complete the segment.

After the real-world segment, you’ll find Lady Clara waiting for you. Run through her dialogues. She’ll then mark four more locations for Tears on your map.

Talk to the Elevator robot in Foundry Citadel to unlock a new Inspiration: Lifeline

Return to Janky Junction to find Lady Clara and Brian turn into a Merchant. She will upgrade some of your Inspirations in exchange for Lightstones.
