Join us at Into Indie Games as we explore Downtown in Control Resonant.
Downtown is the first area you’ll explore in Control Resonant, and this guide will help you find all the most important things around so you don’t miss anything.
This is a work in progress article, as we may have missed some things given that this is Remedy and they love their secrets, so keep checking back as we continue exploring.

Large Resource Crate Locations – Health Upgrade
#1

Next to the Vendor of Downtown. Check the Vendor location below.
#2

Directly east of the Oldest House, reach the rooftop of the building there, and you will find the crate that will grant you a Health Upgrade.
#3

After you obtain the Reach ability, you can go back to Downtown and access the Deserted Area to the east.
From here, simply head all the way south, and you will find the Health Upgrade crate.
Large Resource Crate Locations – Power Upgrade
#1

Southeast of the Oldest House, you will find a building currently under construction, wrapped in orange safety netting. You can reach the interior by heading around to the side.

Head inside and defeat the enemies there. Get to the bottom of the building and open the FBC crate to obtain a Power Upgrade.
#2

Head back to the arena where you fought the Artist, which is to the very west of the city. There, you will find a crate there that will grant you a Power Upgrade.
Vendor Location

The Vendor is located directly south of the Oldest House. You will be able to hear the sound cue when you approach it.
Terminal Location

On the opposite side of the Wardrobe inside the Oldest House, there is a small security room where you will find a terminal computer. Interact with it to answer a few questions and register your answers.
These are direct questions, and you have the option to answer with Yes, No, or I Don’t Know.
Below you will find the answers we picked:

Q: We’re told the lockdown was because of the Hiss. Is this true?
A: Yes.
Q: We’ve been told about Director Faden’s active status. Is she actually still alive?
A: Yes.
Q: Essentially all of the FBC’s pre-lockdown leadership has died or disappeared. Has there been a coup?
A: No.
When you complete the Q&A, you will obtain some materials in addition to some Source. There are more terminals like this around Manhattan, and while they are not required, it can be fun to complete them.
In addition to that, it does not seem that you must answer correctly, just registering all your answers will grant you the reward.
Secret Location – Atlantis Cafe

Outside the Oldest House, follow the street to the right, climb up the wall and you will stumble across one of the many Atlantis Cafe secrets in the corner of the street.
Go inside and you will find a note on the counter with the shop opening instructions. This note contains the information you need to complete the small puzzle here.

According to the note, we’re supposed to start the opening sequence with the smallest appliance and end with the largest one, or so it suggests. But can appliances work without any power? So, start by turning the power on.

There are multiple interactable items that you can interact with here, and the correct order is:
- Radio hanging on the shelf on the opposite side of the room.
- The small coffee machine on the right side of the counter.
- The white coffee machine to the left of the fridge.
- The soda dispenser next to the white coffee machine.
- The microwave at the far left.
- Finally, the fridge.

If done correctly, you will hear a sound cue and a secret entrance will be revealed. Go downstairs and you will find another Third Ice Machine that will grant you one Health Upgrade.

There are also some collectible notes around that you can pick up and read if you’re into that.
Dog Location

Around Manhattan, you will encounter a mysterious dog. He can be found in all Zones and has a simple side quest related to him. Find him the toy he wants to play with.
In Downtown, the mysterious dog can be found directly southwest of the Oldest House building, at the top of the building there. You should be able to hear his whimper as you approach the location.
Climb to the top and speak to the dog. You will realize that he needs you to find a toy for him. The toy is a blue dinosaur, which makes it easy to spot, and it is usually not far away.

If you look at the rooftop on the left side, you will be able to spot the blue dinosaur. Make your way there and pick up the toy. While holding the toy, you will still be able to use your traversal abilities.

Head back to the dog location and put the toy in his bed. This will make the mysterious dog happy and add the Every Dog Has Her Day side quest to your log.
Despite the quest being added, you won’t get an objective marker on the map for the next location, so you need to find it yourself as you explore each new Zone.
- Make sure you pet the dog after completing this, as it will make him feel better!

Dylan’s Sketchbook Location

East of the Oldest House, you will find a construction site. At the corner, you will spot an ad that reads “A New You Awaits,” and next to it, there is what looks like it could be a beach scene.
Dylan can pick up the pieces around the area and assemble them in the correct order to recreate the scenery and then draw it in his sketchbook.
Thankfully, if you look at the minimap, you will be able to see the necessary pieces that you can interact with and pick up. They are marked as puzzle pieces.

For this one, all you need to do is put the umbrella behind the chair and place the other chair next to it. If done correctly, Dylan will usually make a comment that it’s right.
Hit the prompt to draw, and you can even check the drawing from the menu if you like.
Camera Location
#1

Before you can access the first Camera in Downtown, you must complete The Subway Fault side quest in order to obtain Reach, which allows you to access the Deserted Area east of Downtown.
South of the Testing Facility Reade, you will find the camera inside a remote office. However, you won’t be able to get inside, as you need to power up the door.

You can do this by taking the charge from the Power Core Station at the abandoned FBC station. Start from there and head from one rooftop to another toward the left side until you spot the rogue that has a power cell.

Put the charge here and then move it to the street level to the right from behind the office. This will unlock the door, and you will be able to shut down the camera.
Taxi Location

Before you can access the Taxi in Downtown, you must complete The Subway Fault side quest in order to obtain Reach, which allows you to access the Deserted Area east of Downtown.
North of this area, you will find the Taxi parked alongside others. Get in to be teleported to the Threshold.
Here, go to the phone booth and answer it, then be ready for the puzzle. This time, the difference is between the lights on the taxi sign.
- First Taxi: Pick the taxi that has the lights on the taxi sign.
- Second Taxi: Pick the taxi that does not have the lights on the taxi sign.
- Third Taxi: Pick the taxi that has the lights on the taxi sign and still has them even when you approach it. The others will just turn off when you are close.
Testing Facility Location

The entrance to the Testing Facility is located in the Deserted Area, which means you need to have the movement ability Reach before you can access it.
Head inside the construction site there and move toward the half-built building. At ground level, head down until you find a pipe opening. Crawl through this pipe to enter the Testing Facility.

This facility requires you to complete the Soda Dispenser puzzle. It’s a bit confusing, but let us explain how it works.
Inside, there are a different number of objects around the room that you can pick up and carry to the squares on the ground. If the object crosses one of the lines, it will change its shape. The whiteboard near the switch explains the transformations.
Your goal here is to have a soda dispenser in every single square on the ground. Given that the objects are randomized, we cannot give you any direct directions or help.
Even ourselves, we sometimes just keep passing through the lines and hoping to get the soda dispenser onto one of the squares.

The objects rotate through four different states, and you can switch between three states at the intersections beside each placement spot.
A useful way to handle the puzzle is to bring the objects toward the middle and walk in circles around the intersections until you can change them into soda dispensers.

Whenever you have a soda dispenser in all the squares, head back to the main platform and hit the switch. This will open the room where you can find some collectibles and a Power Upgrade crate.
Arcade Location

The Arcade machine in this Zone only becomes available once you reach Zone Level 6.
To the very south of the Deserted Area, you will find the Arcade Machine inside the Urban Mart. You must have the Reach ability to access the Deserted Area.
Side Quests
We are currently working on finding the Side Quests in this area and adding them to the article. Please be patient as we are still exploring and diving into the game.
And with that, we wrap up our Downtown walkthrough for Control Resonant. Thanks for checking it out!
