Join us at Into Indie Games as we complete the Panopticon Service Request side quest in Control Resonant.
The first side quest you’ll encounter in this game comes from a familiar face, one who used to have you running errands for him back when you played as Jesse in Control.

Start The Panopticon Service Request

After you reach the FBC Field Office in Central and unlock its map, you will see a person icon slightly to the east of it. If you hover over it, it will say “Important Person, someone worth talking to.”
Head there and, surprise surprise, it’s Langston. If you played the first game, you’d remember him from the Panopticon in Sector Containment.

Speak to him and he’ll be surprised to see you. Given the Oldest House has been… well, they now have the Field Panopticon, but it’s rather small, very small.
They have a situation and require your help. Langston needs your help fixing the security system there, and he will also need your help moving an Altered Item. Typical Langston, making Dylan run his errands for him.
Repair The Security Terminal

Behind Langston’s office, you will be able to enter the Field Panopticon. Inside, head to the security terminal to the left in the little cubby room. You will hear Langston over the intercom.
When you try to activate it, you will notice it’s missing two cubes. The first one is just at the entrance of this room, so pick it up and put it in one of the two holes. The second one is in the southwest of the Panopticon.

After you put both of them into the terminal, there is one more thing that you need to do. On the east side of the room, next to the C-03 cell, pick up the satellite dish on the ground.

Just outside the cubby room, you will see a pillar that already has one satellite attached to it. However, the top one is blinking red. Jump over the cell and place the satellite dish on the pillar.

With everything set, head to the terminal and activate the security system.
Give Langston The Correct Containment Cell ID

Now for the Altered Item objective. Langston needs your help moving the radio in cell B-02. Stand next to the radio and confirm you are standing beside it, then Langston should open the door for you.
He will try to open it, but it won’t open because something has gone wrong. On the table, there is a note that you can check which explains the issue.

The physical ID plates on the cell doors follow a counter-clockwise layout, but the FBC reprogrammed the system terminal to run clockwise to fit standard protocol.
Because they never swapped the physical door plates before the lockdown, the terminal grid is reversed relative to the labels on the doors.

This means that cell B-02 is actually D-04. Interact with the cell and pick “The category is D” and “The number is 04” as your dialogue options.
Move The Radio

Langston will successfully open the cell for you, and you’ll be able to move the Altered Item. Since this is a radio, he informs Dylan that it has to be the New York World’s Fair.
Pick up the radio and move it to the cell across labeled E-05, however, the Altered Item will trigger and disappear.
Find And Contain The World’s Fair Radio

The radio will now be working, and every time you pick it up and drop it, it will move to another location and change the station.
You need to make sure the radio is set to the World’s Fair station. In our case, it started with, “It’s Saturday, October 17th, and tonight, the New York World’s Fair comes to an end.”

Pick up the radio and place it on the panel inside cell E-05. This will complete the quest and reward you with the Untapped Feeding Bottle artifact and the Aramid Work Clothes.
And with that, we wrap up another side quest walkthrough for Control Resonant. Thanks for checking it out!
