Control Resonant – The Central Resonant Walkthrough

Join us at Into Indie Games as we head into Central to defeat its Resonant entity in Control Resonant.

After reaching the Field Office in Central, you’ll need to track down the Resonant hiding somewhere in the area.

The Patterned was spotted outside the factory, where reports of strange steam coming from the building have raised concerns. Now, it’s up to you to investigate the factory and find out what’s going on.

Investigate The Steam Coming From The Factory In Central

The factory is located to the very north of Central, so you cannot miss it. After you reach it, you will notice that the entrance is blocked, and you need to find a way inside.

Just outside the factory, there is a Power Core Station that has a bunch of power cells. Absorb one of their charges and head to the right side of the factory, then put the charge in the box there to unlock the door.

Head inside and fight the waves of enemies here to unblock the elevator. When you’re ready, take the elevator down to the underground where the furnace is.

After you reach the bottom, go straight forward, climb up the stairs, and you will spot the furnace. Dylan suspects that the Resonant is there because he sees the trail left behind.

Since there is fire, he can’t progress forward, and you need to find a way to clear the fire and unblock the path.

Head back, and this time, don’t go down the stairs. Instead, look in front of you, where you will see a red lava glob, then destroy it.

You will notice that doing this cleared some of the steam and opened two new paths to each side.

This also reduces the fire blocking the path to the furnace, so your job here is to destroy the remaining lava glob at the end of each side to clear the path.

Find The Second Lava Glob

We started with the passage on the left side of the first glob. Follow the path ahead, then go down left and turn right until you stumble across the Hiss.

Defeat the enemies here and then climb up to the upper floor. Here, you will come across two paths.

Start by going to the left and follow the way until you reach what looks like a small living space. You can report this to Zoe. You can also grab a Health Upgrade here.

Now head to the other path and continue forward, and you will find the room where the lava glob is alongside numerous enemies that you need to defeat. Get rid of the enemies and destroy the glob.

Find The Third Lava Glob

Go back to the main area and now head to the opposing passage. Proceed forward and then go left. You will find a recording along the way from the same man whose living space you found.

From here, elevate to the upper floor and continue forward. You will reach a room with multiple enemies, and you need to defeat them to unblock the path.

When you’re done, jump across and go right, where you will find the Cooling Pool room, where you need to do some fighting again. Here, the glob is located at ground level inside the small hallway. Destroy it.

After you’ve destroyed all three lava globs, head outside and go to the furnace. You will see that all the fire is gone, and you can progress forward.

This path will lead you to a Resonant fight, so we suggest that you upgrade your abilities, weapons, and everything before proceeding.

Defeat The Deserter

The Deserter is a large, fiery boss fight that is easy to predict and avoid. The only problematic thing is if he fills up the fire meter and applies the Burn status, which causes your health to keep draining.

The first and most common attack that the Deserter has is spitting lava from his mouth and following Dylan’s location for a few seconds. This can be easily avoided by running away and floating around.

There is a great opening after this attack if you manage to run behind the boss, as you can land some easy hits on it.

Be careful, as he can perform a counterattack where he spins completely around in a wide circle while spewing flame outward, forcing you to back up.

Another attack is when the Deserter screams, reveals a purple glob on its chest, and then slams itself to the ground.

You need to target the glob, as you will deal a lot of damage by hitting it. It also takes him a while to recover from this attack.

Once he recovers, if you are still close to him, he will strike forward using a physical, stabbing limb that resembles a sword and is directed at your position. It usually comes in three strikes, so simply dodge these attacks.

Around a third of its health, he will add an attack where the Deserter shoots fireballs at you three times. Another easy attack to dodge.

During the second phase, which begins halfway through his health, the boss will position itself in the center of the arena, start healing, and you will see four purple globs spawn in the arena.

You have to destroy all four to interrupt this attack. Destroying the globes will deal a lot of damage to its health, so you need to be quick about it.

That’s basically the whole fight. It’s a lot of running, avoiding its attacks, and dealing damage, so this should be a much easier boss fight than the Artist.

Pick Your Combat Ability

After you deplete the Deserter’s HP, you will need to perform an Execution attack.

This will deliver the final blow to the boss, and you will find yourself in the Gap, where you will be granted the ability to choose between two combat abilities.

Ignite allows you to imbue all your attacks, from the Aberrant to your other combat abilities, with Fire, and you can apply Burn to enemies after landing enough attacks.

Inferno lets you generate increasingly intense Fire waves using your fists and build up the Burn status effect.

It is pretty easy to guess which ability takes the crown here, it’s Ignite. Having every attack imbued with fire is not only devastatingly effective, but it also looks incredible alongside the Aberrant.

This ability continuously drains your power to keep your weapons aflame, remaining active until your meter runs out or you manually toggle it off.

Since you’re already here, make sure you upgrade your weapon or spend your talent points, and when you’re ready, leave the Gap.

The Resonant Cycle

In every zone, whenever you defeat its Resonant, you will initiate a new Resonant Cycle. This means that the world will be changing, and it grows more dangerous.

Meaning enemies will reappear and have increased levels, you will get more World Feats, and of course, on the bright side, you will get better resource drops and increased rewards from certain activities.

And with that, we wrap up another walkthrough for Control Resonant. Thanks for checking it out!
