Control Resonant – The Park Resonant Walkthrough

Join us at Into Indie Games as we head into The Park to defeat its Resonant entity in Control Resonant.

The Park has been completely taken over by a rapidly spreading strain of Mold, and it is mutating at an unnatural rate.

On top of that, there are signs of Patterning throughout the area, meaning a Resonant is also nearby, which could be connected to what is happening here.

Learn About The Mold At The FBC Base In The Park

From Central, head north and go through the Park Checkpoint in order to access this new zone. As soon as you get in, you will see that this place has been completely taken over by the Mold.

There are signs of the Patterning, which means a Resonant resides nearby, and Dylan needs to locate it.

  • The objective marker takes you around the center of the zone, where it says New Mold Strains?

  • The second objective will take you to the FBC base at the east of the Park, where you can gather information regarding this.

During our playthrough, we got to explore first and missed this step, but it is not required. The whole quest basically requires you to find and eat a special kind of Mold from four different locations.

Doing so will grant entrance to the Mold barrier at the New Mold Strains? location, where the Resonant is residing.

Eat The Minimart Mold

To the southwest corner of the Park, you will find an Urban Fresh Mart, but the entrance will be blocked. Defeat all the enemies here in order to gain access.

Inside, you will find a special, unique-looking Mold piece. Dylan is tempted to taste it. Zoe, however, is insisting that he not try it at all.

Dylan will have the option to pursue Zoe in tasting it, and despite her efforts at trying to stop you, Dylan will eat the piece of Mold in the end.

After you do so, you will notice that Dylan looks a bit, high, the best we can describe it, but you will also see a vision of the Mold barrier at the entrance to the Resonant.

Zoe will try to force Dylan to snap out of it, and she will manage to get him out of this.

Eat The Pizzeria Mold

To the southeast this time, near the Research Site, you will find the Pizzeria. You can easily spot it by the sign. Just like last time, you need to defeat all nearby enemies in order to gain access.

Inside, you will find the Mold piece on the table. Interact with it. This will start the same scenario, basically, where Dylan is tempted to eat it, and Zoe tries to stop him, but she fails.

Dylan eats the Mold, he gets high, he sees the Mold barrier, and Zoe tries to snap him out of it, only this time, it is a bit difficult, but she manages.

Eat The Gym Mold

The next Mold is located at the very northwest of the Park, at the ground level where the spore-infested ground is. The entrance to the gym is at the end of this path.

You know the drill by now: defeat the enemies, go inside, and eat the Mold, get high, and wait for Zoe to get you back to normal.

Eat The Cafe Mold

Now, the final piece of Mold that we found is actually the very first one you should have started with during the quest, and this is next to the Mold barrier.

It actually worked great for us because we didn’t have to backtrack twice, so make your way back there. Inside the room where it clearly states not to ingest the Mold, Dylan is heading there to do exactly the opposite.

Do the thing you have to do, and this time, the vision you will get shows the barrier is open, meaning you have access to the barrier.

Now, to confirm, approach the barrier, and it will disappear, letting you in. Before you continue this path, be sure you are prepared for the Resonant boss fight.

Upgrade your weapons, spend your talent points, and get ready. Be sure to have Ignite or Inferno prepared, as this boss is weak to Fire.

Defeat The Collective

The Collective is probably the easiest boss fight in the game, but it can still be annoying. It doesn’t have that many attacks. In fact, the boss does not attack at all, and you will have to defeat its summons.

At the start of the fight, you will see two tentacles on both walls, on each side. Defeat the tentacles. You can use Shift to be on the same ground and make the fight easier.

Each tentacle will have a white spot that acts as its weak spot, and you need to target those weak spots, as hitting them will deal large damage.

The tentacles have two attacks. They can either slam their head on the ground where you are or shoot projectiles in your direction. Both attacks are easy to beat. The annoying part is the enemies that spawn alongside them.

We highly recommend you defeat the other enemies and then focus on the tentacles.

Once both tentacles are defeated, you will notice that the boss exposes some weak spots. You need to rush there and damage as many as you can.

After some time, the weak spots will be closed again, and multiple Mold enemies will spawn. Defeat all enemies, and the weak spots will be exposed for a brief moment.

Now the Collective will summon more tentacles once again, and the same process goes here. That’s basically the whole fight, pretty easy and just time-consuming.

Pick Your Combat Ability

After you deplete the Collective’s HP, you will need to perform an Execution attack as usual. This will kill the Resonant and will grant the choice between two Combat abilities.

Spore Burst allows you to fire Mold projectiles at the target you are aiming at, which builds up the Infected status effect that deals continuous damage to the target.

Growth allows you to summon a Mold ally that shoots spores at enemies and also builds up the Infected status over time.

We didn’t find any of these skills creative nor useful for our case. We did pick Spore Burst, but we almost never used it.

As usual, killing the Resonant will initiate a new Resonant Cycle in the Park Zone.

And with that, we wrap up another walkthrough for Control Resonant. Thanks for checking it out!
