Join us at Into Indie Games as we head into The West Incursion to defeat its Resonant entity in Control Resonant.
The West Incursion Zone is the area most affected by the Patterning, with its influence changing the very structure of the area.
But the worst part is the strange noises coming from the Theater, as everyone who has gone there has disappeared and never returned.

Reach The West Incursion Zone

From the Field Office in Central, head northwest toward the checkpoint there. Pass through the checkpoint to reach the West Incursion Zone.

After passing the checkpoint, head left and climb up the bus on the vertical street to reach the upper area.
From a distance, you will be able to see the theater that you need to reach. However, the Patterning here has caused the building to change, making it difficult to reach.

From here, head left and complete the Incursion Fault side quest to obtain Shift. This movement ability grants a gravity-altering traversal power that allows Dylan to walk on walls, ceilings, and different surfaces.
Check out our guide here on how to complete the Incursion Fault and obtain Shift.

With the Shift ability now, you will be able to freely explore the Incursion Zone and continue toward the Resonant here.

Now the street ends, so jump to the building on the left and use Shift on the wall here. Climb up and go around the building. Reach the building on the other side and then use Shift on the wall to the right.

You will get Zoe on the radio mentioning something about the rescue team taking an alternative route through the subway tunnel to reach the theater. That’s where you need to go.
Find The Subway Station

From the checkpoint, make your way east by platforming through the buildings toward the Empire sign. You will find the subway entrance here, so go underground.

If you head to the right, you will find a large crate that has a Health Upgrade that you can grab.
Continue forward to exit the station and get back to the city. Jump across where the Shift will happen to get you back on the main street.

From here, activate the fast travel door in front of you and then follow the street north where the Patterned Blood mural is. This will lead you directly to the theater.

Go inside and head toward the stage where the dance hall is. Interact with this door to teleport to the boss fight against the Resonant here, called the Dancer.
Defeat The Dancer
Phase One

The Dancer uses two batons as her primary weapons and has a few attacks that are easy to recognize during the first phase. You can get away with this phase without taking a single hit.
She starts one of her attacks by jogging forward a few steps before pulling her batons back and spinning toward you on her knees.

If you’re already at a distance, you can simply run out of her path, but it’s better to wait until the last moment and dodge. She can also pause briefly after the attack, giving you a chance to land a few swings.
She can also jog toward you before leaning back and thrusting both batons forward. Dodge as she makes the attack, then take advantage of her recovery to land a few hits before she moves again.

When you’re attacking her up close, watch for the Dancer to lean forward while holding her batons parallel to the ground. She’ll spin in place to create some distance, so back away when she starts the move to avoid getting hit.
Once she starts standing up again from this attack, you can move back in and attack. This has a small recovery, so you can land a few hits and get back again.

Once the Dancer reaches around half health, she changes her baton thrust by adding two hard overhead swings afterward.
When this happens, don’t attack immediately after dodging the initial thrust. Instead, wait for the two swings and dodge the final one, then retaliate while she recovers before she runs off.
Phase Two

After you get through the first phase, the Dancer will transform, and the music will get more intense. This time, she is more aggressive and adds more new attacks.
The first one is when she floats in the air and pulls two Patterned audience members toward her before throwing them at you. Dodge this attack to either side.

The Dancer can also leap into the air and crush down at your location. Wait until she’s about to land, then dodge to avoid the attack and retaliate when she lands.
The best opening in this sequence is when she will be performing. You will notice she uses her batons in an artistic way, rush in and land a few hits.

When it’s about a third of her health, the Dancer will be under a spotlight, and the rest of the arena will be dark.
If you walk in the dark, you will get a red light beam that, after a few seconds, will drag you to her if you linger there.

Given that the spotlight has a small range, you will need to rely on dodging better and keep the fight there.
Pick Your Combat Ability

After you deplete the Dancer’s HP, you will need to perform an Execution attack as usual. This will kill the Resonant and will grant the choice between two Combat abilities.
Push allows you to generate force and send it forward, launching enemies backward. This can be used to push enemies off ledges and instantly kill them.
Ground Slam allows you to slam enemies from above, with a twist: the higher you are, the bigger the area of effect and the amount of damage you deal.
We picked Ground Slam since Push seemed incredibly situational. There are rare scenarios in which it can be useful to push enemies around the ledges, so that’s that.
Of course, this will also initiate a new Resonant Cycle in the West Incursion Zone.
And with that, we wrap up another walkthrough for Control Resonant. Thanks for checking it out!
