cosmic fear walkthrough

Welcome to Into Indie Games’ walkthrough for chapter 2 of Cosmic Fear.

The cosmic presence you came to investigate is real. As you manage to get the word out to Jakob, he asks you to meet at the local Bar. But before you can get on your way, a UFO lifts you up from outside the church on Deep Lake Street.

Reaching the Bar

cosmic fear walkthrough

The chapter begins with you standing in the middle of a circle made of fire in the forest. Walk out of the pit.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Look around for the light of a lamppost. Then head toward it.

As you reach the dirt path, you’ll see some strange symbols floating around you for a brief moment.

cosmic fear walkthrough

From the lamppost, turn right, and you’ll see a faint glow of lanterns in the distance. Head along the path.

cosmic fear walkthrough

You’ll soon come across an abandoned house on your right.

cosmic fear walkthrough

You can head into the house. There are two pages on the first floor, and a third one in the bedroom on the second floor. They talk about more strange incidents, but it’s not important.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Continue along the main path past the house until you spot the bar. Head inside.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Entering the bar, it seems like everyone left in a hurry. You’ll find a letter left by Jakob on the countertop, saying they’re going to the old Vancaster Factory. You have to cross the bridge and take the old road on the right for about a kilometer to reach the place.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Leave the bar and continue along the road. You’ll run into a blockade and a locked fence. It appears you’ll have to find an alternate way to get to Vancaster Factory.

Finding an Alternate Route to Vancaster Factory

cosmic fear walkthrough

Enter the house on the right, close to the fence on the main road, through the back door.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Inside the house, you’ll find a small room with a machine that has a missing gear. Inspect the note next to it.

cosmic fear walkthrough

The note mentions an Old Tunnel running beneath the village that runs under Vancaster. This seems like your way in. But to open the passage, you’ll have to find the missing gear.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Return to the bar, but instead of heading inside, walk along the outer walls. You’ll spot a stack of crates and the open window to the bathroom. You can stand on the crates and crouch to enter through the window.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Pick up the Old and Rusty Key from the open drawer on your left as soon as you enter. There’s also a note nearby that you can grab.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Leave the bar bathroom through the window, and turn right. Head to the area beyond the fence through the path marked in the image above.

cosmic fear walkthrough

You will find a metal gear sitting on a crate in this area. Pick it up.

Walk along the inner path leading away from the bar, and look for a house with a white door. Use the Old and Rusty Key you found in the bathroom to open the door.

cosmic fear walkthrough

After entering the house, go through the first door on your left.

cosmic fear walkthrough

There’s a note on the table written in an alien language. The note translates automatically after you pick it up. Also, collect the Small Key from the table.

cosmic fear walkthrough

The Small Key opens the last door on the right from the main hallway of the house.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Pick up the Strange Disc from the bowl in front of the strange altar.

With that done, make your way back to the machine with the missing gear inside the house on the side of the main road. Insert the gear and press the switch on the wall. This will reveal a staircase leading underground.

cosmic fear walkthrough

Go down the stairs and continue forward. You’ll reach a metallic door on your right. The passage continues on the left. At the end of the passage, you’ll find a set of stairs that will take you to a small room where you can find some notes and photographs.

But since we already have the Strange Disc, you can simply interact with the bowl near the door to open it.

Continue through the tunnel, and you’ll make it to the other side of the locked fence on the main road. You’ll spot some lanterns on the right as you stand close to the cliff’s edge. Follow this path.

Keep moving forward till you see a set of stairs. Go up the steps.

Continue through the forest following the lanterns along the way.

Eventually, you’ll walk up a wooden beam and spot some cars in the distance. You’ve arrived outside the factory.

Entering the Workshop

As you go forward, Benedict will recognize Jakob’s van. You’ll find two pages inside Jakob’s van and the police car.

Turn left from the police car to spot a storage. The door is open. You’ll find another Page inside.

Note the huge hole in the middle of the area. It seems like there was an excavation project going on here before things went haywire. Go around the pit and head for the far end of the area shown in the image above.

You’ll come across a building marked F23. This leads into the workshop. But it has an electronic combination lock. You’ll need a code to open the door.

Continue past the building through the gate nearby.

Walk to the end of the bridge to trigger a cutscene where you spot Jakob on the other side.

Jakob tells you to cross over through Building F23. After the cutscene, enter the guard station on the right and pick up the Key Labelled D21.

Also inspect the map above the table. This will give you an idea of all the buildings in the area.

Return to the main area and use the Key to unlock the door to D21.

Go inside and check the note in the open locker. You’ll find the code for Building F23: 2408.

Return to Building F23 and use the code to open the door. Head inside.

Navigating the Workshop

After entering the workshop, head down the stairs to reach the main area. There’s a locked door on your left. You’ll need a Magnetic Keycard to open it.

Turn right and go into the first room on your right, down the hallway. Your Flashlight will die at this point.

Pick up the Magnetic Keycard from the table next to the computer along with the note.

Open the door using the Magnetic Keycard and head down the stairs.

You’ll hear some noises as you move. A sliding door closes at the bottom of the stairs. Head into the room on the right.

There’s a giant alien shuttle docked here. Loop around to the back of the room toward the control panel.

Pick up the notes from the table nearby. Then click on the button marked LOCK on the control station.

This will open the sliding door outside. Head through the door and down the hall. There’s another locked sliding door at the end and a door on both sides.

Go into the room on the left first to enter the lab. You can spot an alien strapped to a machine through the glass.

Return to the hallway and go into the room on the right. There’s a control panel here. Interact with it to open the sliding door.

As you head through, the door to the lift at the end closes.

Check the hand on the floor and pick up the Key. Benedict mentions that this key opens the generator room upstairs.

As soon as you pick up the key, the alarm goes off. The alien that you saw through the glass is gone.

Go back to the upper floor to the main area of the workshop. Then head to the end of the corridor outside the room where you found the magnetic keycard.

The light comes on. The door on the right leads to the Generator Room. Use the key to unlock the door and head inside.

Interact with the control panel to open the tunnel.

Return to the main section of the workshop and follow the overhead pipe through the door at the end of the corridor.

Go down the stairs and through the open door of Tunnel B.

Crawl under the door at the end, go up the stairs, and go through the door to complete the chapter.
