Craftlings – Restless Dunes Walkthrough

Craftlings Walkthrough

Craftlings features three different biomes, with each one having four stages. The Restless Dunes is the first stage in the desert biome, and it puts you up against Anubis, whom you’ll have to defeat to progress ahead. Furthermore, most of the platforms in this area are in mid-air, and you’ll have to micromanage a lot to come out successful. For more information on the game, visit its official Steam page here.

Aside from defeating Anubis, you’ll also have to build the Arena and train your Craftlings inside of it so they’re strong enough to take on this powerful enemy.

Arrival

As the stage begins, your Craftling will spawn from a portal in midair on a tiny floating platform. There are several platforms in this area, all of which are floating in midair, and there’s not much space to build anything significant here.

Fortunately, you start with around 20 free crates in your inventory, as well as several dynamites. You can use those to turn the bottom platform pieces into a singular one.

The middle platform has the foundations of the Arena already set on it. The first thing that you should do is to place a stopper on both edges of this platform. Use crates if the terrain doesn’t allow for an effective stopper placement.

You can then disable the stopper on the left to let the Craftlings on the bottom floor once you’re done fixing it up with crates. Build ladders to connect these different platforms, but most of your work will be on the bottom floor, with the market being on the middle one.

You can leave one or two Craftlings on the middle platform to transport materials from the Cargo Lifts and Balloons.

Settling In

After the bottom platform is ready, set up a Lumberjack’s Hut here. You should also set up a Mining Shed. The chunks of rock on these platforms can’t be destroyed with dynamite, so make use of them instead by placing the Mining Shed appropriately.

Don’t forget to place a stopper on both edges of the bottom platform. Gold coins are a serious issue in this area because there aren’t any quick resources that you can sell.

You’ll have to set up a Market, preferably on the middle platform, below the platform with the Arena foundation. Keep pulling barrels out of the sea for those extra gold coins, as they will be essential here to get you started.

Even if nothing works, you can still sell wood and stone. Start by selling stone, and once you’ve built the Lumber Mill and have enough planks to upgrade the Town Hall, you can then switch to selling planks as well. Don’t forget to set up a Sapling Farm for the wood demand.

Upgrading The Town Hall To Level 5

Unlike previous stages, here, you’ll have to upgrade the Town Hall to level 6. First, start by delivering wooden planks. Then, you’ll have to set up Iron Ore production.

Use dynamite to level the terrain on the floating platforms. This will give you more room for structures. You can also use the terrain spell to connect certain platforms, such as the arena one with the Town Hall platform.

Set up a Farm below the Anubis platform. The rest of the buildings should be close to the left edge, where your Lumberjack’s Hut and Mining Shed should likely be. Place a Cauldron on the left edge of the platform to turn excess wheat into mana early on.

You should be producing iron now, which will be enough to upgrade your Town Hall. You should have enough gold by selling any extra resources, so start settling on the other platforms as well. Don’t forget that you can manipulate the terrain using the spell to create some extra space or use dynamite to level it.

Upgrading The Town Hall To Level 6

At Level 5, the Town Hall will require statues to be upgraded. Set up an Artist building. The Artist building, alongside the Worker’s Outpost, should be on the bottom platform. You can set up the kitchen on the Arena platform and have it deliver the food bowl via Cargo Lift to the outpost to produce hammers.

You should also set up a tavern on the bottom platform with a few vegetable beds growing grapes and carrots. Set up a few homes to increase the Craftling population.

Once you’re producing statues, you should be able to complete the Arena, as well as the Level 6 upgrade for the Town Hall, which will give you access to more spells and more advanced buildings, such as the Military Academy.

Place the other relevant buildings on the floating platforms. You should be producing everything now, and it should only be a matter of time for the crafting to complete.

Facing Off Against Anubis

Once you’re producing maces at the Military Academy, you’ll need to build a windmill for flour. You’ll be producing bread with it, which is required to produce swords at the Arena.

The Arena also requires bones, which can be obtained by building a Fishing Spot. Keep in mind that you only need to craft one sword to take on Anubis, which can be done immediately after upgrading the Town Hall to Level 6, but the Arena is a requirement for the optional checklist, and is the primary source of crafting swords.

Once you have the sword ready, have the Craftling travel to the platform using a spell and give them the sword. Buff the Craftling with the shield and the accuracy spell and wait for the battle to finish.

If you’re successful and are able to defeat Anubis, you’ll complete the stage and will be able to progress to the next one.
