Craftlings features a variety of interesting stages where you’ll have to carefully manage resources and use your creativity to complete the required objectives. Surrounded is the second stage of the game, and here, you’ll have to defeat a specific number of skeletons to clear it. For more information on the game, you can visit its official Steam page here.
The Surrounded stage can offer a significant difficulty spike for most players because now you’re not only gathering stones and wood, but also crafting weapons and fighting against enemies, as well as using spells. All of these changes can be a little overwhelming at first, but if you do one thing at a time, you’ll be able to survive and succeed with ease.

Objectives
As you start the stage, the game will tell you that you have to build a small settlement, train a few Craftlings, and defeat the skeletons to clear it.

There are multiple skeletons in this area. These skeletons don’t move, but if any regular Craftling approaches them, they’ll be eradicated and will respawn at the Craftling portal.
You have to defeat at least five skeletons to clear this stage. But, before you can think about defeating them, you’ll first have to set up a settlement.

Settling In
The first building that you have to place is your Town Hall. You’ll notice plenty of room on the main platform where you can place your Town Hall. You can place it anywhere on the platform.
But, placing the Town Hall on the extreme left makes it easy for a cargo lift to deliver stones directly to it later on from the stone deposit on the platform underneath.

You’ll still be able to deliver the stones by having a Craftling pick them up and then deliver them to the Town Hall to upgrade it, if the cargo lift isn’t directly under it.
You’ll also have to set up a Lumberjack’s hut and two houses. However, you also have to be mindful because the number of trees in the area is limited.

The trees here are just enough to get the job done, but if you run out, you might have to set up a sapling farm later to grow new trees.

Mining Stones
Once you’ve settled in, you should quickly upgrade your Town Hall to level 2. This will give you access to dynamites. Use the dynamite to destroy the crate next to the ladder to the left of the Town Hall.
Your Craftlings will now be able reach the stone deposit down below the Town Hall. Build a Mining Shed next to the Town Hall, so your Craftlings can deliver wood to it safely to get pickaxes.

You’ll also have to build a cargo lift next to the stone deposit under the Town Hall to deliver stones to it for the Level 3 upgrade. Use a stopper or a signboard to make sure only the Craftlings with a tool can go ahead towards the ladder.
The Craftlings may go the other way after getting up from the ladder, and that may cause them to fall. Keep a close watch there and turn them away if they’re about to fall.

Level 3 Town Hall And The Spells
After upgrading the Town Hall to level 3, you’ll unlock several resources, as well as spells. There are three spells that you’ll have to cast on the Craftlings manually.
The Parachute spell allows your Craftling to drop down safely without falling. On the other hand, the Soap Bubble spell enables your craftling to go up to the next platform.

Both of these spells can be used on Craftlings carrying resources, such as stones or wood logs.
The third spell is called Mana Blessing, and it buffs your precision. We’ll go over it more when it’s time to actually face the skeletons. These spells consume mana, which is also a resource and can be generated at a mana cauldron.

Preparing To Fight
Now that you’ve got the basic resources, it’s time to build a Training Spot. The Training Spot will produce pitchforks in exchange for carrots. Set up at least two vegetable beds for now, to grow carrots.
Have these carrots delivered to the Training Spot, and you’ll get your pitchfork. You should also set up at least two Houses and a Market in the area to the right of the Town Hall.
After everything is ready, use a stopper or a signboard to restrict Craftlings from going towards the ladder to the left, which leads to the stone deposit below.

Fighting The Skeletons
Once you have the pitchfork, it’s time to pick your enemies. The first and best target is the skeleton on the platform to the right. It blocks access to a small stone deposit, as well as a few trees.
Give the pitchfork to a Craftling and cast the bubble spell on them once they’re under the platform to have them go up. The fight will now begin.

You’ll notice the Wizard’s Tower and its effect once the battle begins. The Wizard’s Tower gives all your Craftlings two hitpoints in battle.
On this stage, your Craftlings and the skeletons have a hit accuracy of 25%, so you may have to send multiple Craftlings, one after the other, to defeat a single enemy.

After defeating the skeleton, you’ll be able to carry its bones. There’s nothing much to do with this resource at this stage, so you can sell it at the market for 30 gold. You don’t even have to collect them at this stage.
Make sure you use the Parachute spells to bring your Craftlings safely down from heights where they might take fall damage.

Completing The Objective
Once you’ve defeated the first skeleton, defeating the others is only a matter of time. You can cast the Mana Blessing spell on your Craftlings during battle to enhance their accuracy.
Furthermore, use the dynamite to open your path to the other skeletons. There’s one on the platform above your Town Hall, while the other three are towards the right, just a little bit further from the skeleton you’ve already defeated.

There are actually more skeletons on this map, but defeating five of them will clear the stage. If you want to complete the entire checklist, you’ll also have to set up a small kitchen and generate mana in the mana cauldron.
Note that using these spells consumes mana, and you’ll have to generate quite a lot of it. You can do so by having carrots or other cooked items delivered to the mana cauldron.
