Craftlings – Volcano Delivery Walkthrough

Craftlings Walkthrough

The frost biome in Craftlings is home to the most interesting resource management challenges. The Volcano Delivery requires you to go several platforms down to reach the very bottom, where you have to mine a special gem and bring it to the Zeppelin flying above at the top. For more information on the game, don’t forget to check out its official Steam page here.

Setting The Foundations

It’s challenging to find the perfect place to build your base, as none of the platforms have enough space to set up multiple buildings. You’ll have to use multiple platforms and trade resources between them to be successful.

You can place your Town Hall on the third from the last platform. This platform is plain and will be in the middle of your operations, as you’ll also be utilizing the platforms above later on.

Immediately after building the Town Hall, manually stop all the Craftlings from going down. Some of the Craftlings should have picked stones from the way down. Use the axes from your inventory to cut the nearby trees for wood. You’ll need four wood to upgrade the Town Hall.

Once you’ve upgraded the Town Hall with wood, you can use the stones that you’ve carried so far to upgrade the Town Hall again. This will bring your Town Hall to level 3, giving you access to the Iron Mine, which you’ll be setting up shortly after.

You can then let all the Craftlings go to the bottom platform. Make sure that at least one Craftling stays stuck near the Town Hall to manage the cargo later on.

Mining Basic Resources

The bottom platform is where you’ll be gathering most of your basic resources at the start. You’d have enough charges of dynamite to adjust the terrain and create more space for your buildings.

You can also break through the cliff to the right to unlock access to stone deposits. Set up the Lumberjack’s Hut, a Sapling Farm and a Mining Shed. Turn off the Gem Mining building to stop it from delivering pickaxes to it early on.

Sell some of the resources at the Market for gold. The Market should be placed on the second last platform at the bottom. You can build a ladder and have one Craftling go there to manage the cargo. Place a Cargo Lift directly under the market to automatically deliver and sell resources from the bottom platform.

You should also set up a Lumber Mill at the bottom to produce planks and upgrade the Town Hall.

Producing Iron

Now, you have to utilize another platform. Level the terrain on the platform above your Town Hall by using Dynamite. Place a Wheat Farm here. You’ll also be producing bread here later on. Don’t forget to place a well here on the same platform.

Create a ladder and link it to the other platforms. You’ll also have to set up Cargo Lifts on this new platform. The Chicken Coop and the Iron Mine should be on the bottom platform. Have the wheat delivered to the bottom by using Cargo Balloons.

Since these two buildings are near the Lumberjack’s Hut and the Mining Shed, it will be easy to deliver the pickaxes and axes to them.

Once you’re producing iron, upgrade your Town Hall to unlock more advanced buildings.

Producing Sculptures

Now, you have to reach for the platform above the Wheat Farm. Here, you’ll set up the Tavern, the Artist building, and a Mining Shed, alongside a few vegetable beds.

Remove the wooden sign, and completely block the platform by using terrain blocks, so that the only access to it is by a ladder or a personal lift.

As your structures increase, you should also set up a few more houses for the Craftlings to get more workers. You’ll also have to set up a kitchen and a Worker’s Outpost next to the Artist building to start producing sculptures.

Once the sculptures are ready, you should immediately have them delivered to the Town Hall to upgrade it. You can sell the rest to gain some extra gold.

Producing Bread

After unlocking the Town Hall level 6, you’ll be able to build the Bakery and the Windmill to produce bread. You need a piece of bread and three pickaxes to produce one gem.

Now, you have to return to the platform where you built your Wheat Farm. Use the terrain spell to create blocks to complete the platform.

Place a Windmill and a Bakery here. You’ll need wood for the Bakery among other items, so you’ll have to deliver it from other platforms.

As soon as you start producing bread, unlock the Gem Mining structure on the bottom floor. Deliver the bread to it. Once the gems are produced, you’ll have to transport them up.

Transporting Gems

Use the Cargo Lifts to get the gems as high as possible. Once you reach the highest platform that your Craftlings are on, you can set up personal lifts to get further up.

There’s a small cave on the bottom platform with two gems, guarded by a few skeletons. You don’t need to bother with that. Once you’ve produced one gem, the rest of them can be produced shortly after.

Have each of the gems delivered to the Zeppelin above. The Craftlings may fall in the process, but it doesn’t matter as long as the gem gets counted. Once you’ve delivered a total of 6 gems, you will complete the stage.
