Crimson Desert has finally been released, and we couldn’t wait to get our hands on it so we could jump in and bring you a full walkthrough of the adventure.
This is the first part of our walkthrough, where we cover the game’s prologue and everything you need to know to get started.
Table of contents
The Opening

You start the game taking control of the main character, called Kliff. It is nighttime, and you need to go down the hill to meet your comrades at the camp.
It seems you have lost some of your friends due to a fight you have been facing. The crew prepared a burial for the fallen comrades, and here you need to go and speak to Oongka.

The cutscene shows both of you praying for them and sending your farewell. After you have done that, head to the nearby house and go inside.
The Ambush

Just as you and your friends gather to have a warm meal, one of your members will come inside screaming that Jian is dead, and he looks bruised; it seems the attackers are back for more.
You and your friends go outside, and you find you have been ambushed by the same people, the Black Bear forces; it is strange that they knew their location.

This is where you will learn the basic combat tutorial on how to attack and defend.
Once you do, you need to help your remaining comrades defeat every single member of the Black Bear forces.

Once you deal with all of them, Myurdin, the leader himself, will show up and will speak to Kliff. It seems that he has been on the lookout for you, and he finally found you.
This will trigger the boss fight against him. Like certain games, this is one of the boss fights that you are supposed to lose.

After Myurdin has you, he will keep stabbing you, kill you, and then throw you into the river.
Realm Of Uncertainty

It seems that you did not die, and instead you are sent to an odd realm.
In this realm, you will learn the basics of movement. Head to the other side and jump across.

Once you are outside, look to your right and climb the wall there to reach the upper floor. Keep progressing forward until you reach a locked door.
Here you will need to use the Blinding Flash ability in order to direct the light to the device on top and unlock it; you will get the tutorial for it.

Keep pressing forward until you reach a dark area. Luckily, Kliff is always holding a lantern, so use it to find the exit.
Eventually, you will reach a platform that you can stand on.

As soon as you approach it, the scenery will change, and it seems that you will wake up again from the river.
A strange force imbues your body, and it will bring you back to life.
New Journey

In the next scene, Kliff seems to wander off with his mind, and Sebastian is calling him; we have no idea who Sebastian is. You need to follow this man toward the house at the top of the cliff.
It seems that Sebastian has helped you recover after the incident. Kliff now needs to move on and carry out his objective since he has fully recovered.

As the two of you approach the house, Sebastian gives you directions on how to reach the town.
During this, you will be interrupted by two guards; it seems they want Sebastian to pay them interest.

The two guards punch the poor Sebastian, but Kliff will not let this slide and will kill the two guards.
Sebastian will be glad, and he himself is going toward the town of Hernand as well, so he tags along.

Follow Sebastian toward the horses’ location and ride the two of you toward the town.
You will stop by the Royal Trading Post, and this will conclude the prologue of the game.
