The Awakening

You’re playing the role of Noah, who’s accompanying Elsa to look for a woman named Mei. The first chapter, The Awakening, will begin here, and you’ll find yourself on a boat after the area has been flooded.

You’ll be making your way to Mei’s house shortly. When you get there, Elsa will try to call Mei, asking her to open the door, but Mei never picks up.

You’ll have to find another way in. If you go left from the door, you’ll find a path leading further ahead, but the path is currently blocked.

Interact with the pot with a dying plant here. Pick it up and place it anywhere else. This will open the path ahead for you.

As you keep going ahead, there’s a path leading to the rubble to your left. You can use this rubble and the fallen tree to get to the hole in the roof.

You’ll have to crouch down to get inside the hole. Once you’re inside the house, the path will be blocked, and you have to let Elsa in.

Mei’s House

As you walk inside the house, you’ll find Mei’s phone ringing in the bedroom. You can pick up the call first to let Elsa know that Mei isn’t in the house, or you can just go and open the door.

Elsa will then walk into the house and find Mei’s pad, where she’ll go over Mei’s emails. After that, you’ll have to look around the room to search for clues. There’s a document on the table that discusses a gate being opened by two stones.

You’ll also find a strange green stone on the table. You’ll be able to analyze the stone’s frequency and pair it with the sonar by following the tutorial instructions. This will allow the sonar to detect any minerals in the vicinity.

The next room here has a bed on the ground and an image on the wall. There are some papers around the room with drawings made out of charcoal. Elsa will ask you to come and talk to her, where you’ll discuss Mei’s disappearance and her emails.

Diagram On The Wall And The First Stone

If you activate the sonar in the room, you’ll find a stone behind the mattress. It is difficult to spot without the sonar. This strange stone has vein marks on it and appears to be chiseled with a sharp object. Pick up this stone.

Now, there are some papers in the room. Pick up those papers and place them in the relevant places on the wall to complete the two circles. You can easily find four of these papers with the drawings.

However, for the fifth page, you’ll have to pick up the invoice from the table. There’s a drawing on the back of it. Place the paper on the wall, and you’ll find a diagram of two stones.

One of the stones in the diagram is similar to the one with veins that you just picked up from behind the mattress, but you’ll still have to find the other one.

The Second Stone

There’s a door in the kitchen that leads to Mei’s office. Mei is a geologist, so she has a ton of different types of minerals in the house.

You’ll have to look for the stone that matches the image to a degree. If you search the shelf in the office, you’ll find a piece of quartz that is similar to the diagram. Pick it up.

Door In The Basement

Now, you’ll have to go to the basement. You’ll find a locked door here. Open the door, and you’ll find a strange organic substance on the wall, and there are two holders where you can place an object.

Here, you have to place the chiseled stone on the left holder, and the piece of quartz on the right holder. This will open the portal to a strange place.

Mei

You’ll be transported into another dimension alongside Elsa. Here, you’ll hear Mei’s voice. Keep going ahead, and you’ll suddenly be attacked by Mei.

There’s a cutscene after that, and it ends the prologue. After the cutscene ends, you’ll find yourself inside a new location, eight months after the incident.

Diving Deep

As you wake up in the location, you’ll be preparing to dive deep into the ocean. There’s a diving suit in front of you. You’ll have to approach it and put it on.

Shortly after you’ve put on the diving suit, a capsule will pop up in the room. You’ll have to interact with it to lie on it.

Once you’re inside the mechanism, you’ll have to interact with the buttons on your right. Pull the lever on the left after that.

There will be a tutorial sequence where you’ll learn to use the Vault to piece together clues. Shortly after, things will go wrong, and you’ll have to eject into the waters suddenly.

After you’re inside the ocean, you have to follow the yellow pipes and machinery on the side as you find your way to the entrance of the PIT station.

Once you’re close, you’ll be able to spot the entrance by the red lights in the deep sea. As you approach the entrance, this will kick off Chapter 2: The Excavation.
