Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss features Noah Williams as the main character, who has explored the depths of the sea and the other world to find her colleague, Elsa. Noah has also obtained the Star of Shamash and opened the Last Door to Cthulhu’s heart. Now, it’s Noah’s turn to make a choice.

The Heart
After the events at the Last Door, you’ll find yourself on a Yith Teleporter. Here, you have to move forward. You’ll have to pass through sap-filled hallways and a hallway that distorts distance to reach the next location.
At the end of the area, you’ll find a hole filled with water. If you dive into the water and then return to the surface, the surroundings will have changed.
You’ll then find yourself in the ancient city of Yithian, where Chtulhu is sealed. Go up, and here, you’ll find Elsa already waiting for you.
Noah will talk about the probe with Elsa first. Shortly after the conversation, the camera will get fixed, and you have to interact with the probe here.
As you interact with the probe, another Elsa will show up to attack you. Once she realizes you’re Noah, she stops. It turns out that the Elsa you had been seeing so far was a manifestation of Key, the AI that had been guiding you.
After the conversation with the two, you’ll have to pull the probe out of the Warden. Now, the skies will darken, and Cthulhu will be almost free.
Now, you have to immediately make a choice. You can either pick Elsa, Key, or the Star of Shamash. Your choice will affect the ending.
Choosing The Star Of Shamash
The Star of Shamash was made for this. If you strike the probe on the star, it will successfully replace the Warden, and Cthulhu’s awakening will be prevented.
You’ll then find Noah and Elsa after several weeks in Ancile headquarters, trying to make the agent believe what they’ve done and seen on the journey.
Choosing Elsa
If you pick Elsa, she’ll offer her life to become the new Warden. In this ending, Cthulhu’s awakening is prevented.
In the ending cutscene, you’ll see Noah being interviewed about these events in Ancile Headquarters.
Choosing Key
If you pick Key, Noah will strike himself with the probe. However, it is Key who has full control of the events happening. This ending will result in Key releasing Cthulhu against your wishes.
You’ll then see the final cutscene where Cthulhu devours the world.
