Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Death of the Reprobate.
This is a point-to-point walkthrough that takes you through the critical path to completing the game. Death of the Reprobate has a lot more to offer apart from the steps outlined in this walkthrough, so we highly recommend that you explore and interact with its world as much as possible.

Intro
In the intro, we meet Malcolm the Terrible. Pronounce your judgements as you think appropriate.
Eventually, you’ll learn some exciting news and meet with Immortal John, after which you’ll be free to do as you wish. And by ‘as you wish’, I mean do seven good deeds like your Papa told you.
The Fisherman
Our first good deed will be for the Fisherman, who’s standing in the center of the screen. ‘The Lord’ is holding a red arrow over the Fisherman’s head, you’ll find.
Talk to the Fisherman and ask how you can help him. Then, talk to him about fishing.
The first two dialog options here will tell you what you need to do to help the Fisherman. First, you need bait, and second, you need to get the men to stop lobbing rocks into the water.
Exit the conversation and go south to reach the main street.
Here, go through the open door into the red room, just to the left of the buskers.
Inside, you’ll find some dancers, a meditating bro, and a musician. Interact with the Large Mahogany Bureau to the right here.
Pick up the caterpillar inside and close the bureau. Exit this room.
We have our bait secured, so now we need to deal with the men lobbing rocks into the water.
For this, enter the gallery, which is roughly below the dangling naked man.
In here, go to the right and talk to the monkeys discussing their work of art. Notice that their artwork resembles the man holding the rocks by the shore.
Instruct the monkeys to replace the objects in the subject’s arms with a pile of softly sleeping wood-pigeons.
You can make any other changes you like to the painting, but the wood-pigeons are crucial.
Return to the shore now. You have bait, and the men are now shooting wood-pigeons into the air. This means we can finally fish.
Use the caterpillar from your inventory on the fisherman.
Then, talk to the Fisherman about fishing and choose the option ‘Let’s catch a fish!’.
Next, instruct the boys to cast their line. When the fish are biting the bait, ask the boys to reel in quickly. If you time it right, the boys will catch a fish.
The grateful fisherman will also give you a key to the barn door.
The Man in the Barn
Use the barn door key you just acquired on the barn door in the background of the scene. Enter the barn.
Talk to the ripped dudes on the left side of the screen to learn that you can help them by providing some appropriate clothing.
Exit the barn and return to the main street. Now enter the cloth-maker’s shop, which is to the right of the gallery you went to before. Talk to the Loom Operator in here and ask him to weave something for you.
Return to the barn now and give the man a skirt.
Once the men have left the barn, the Goat King will offer you a magic flute.
