Welcome to part 6 of our walkthrough for Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken. We’ve checked both the mist-covered Somnolent Wells City, and the dark depths of the Attic. But now we’ll be making our way into an even mysterious forest known only as the Forest of the Lost.
For more information about Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken, check out their official website here.
The rooms and items in this level are randomized. The layout for you may not be the same as in this walkthrough. The puzzles and general progression route, however, will remain the same.
Table of contents
Reaching the Forest

You wake up, as always, in a small room. Loot the Cupboard for your first item. We found a First Aid Kit. Exit the room.

We find ourselves on a passage. There are two exits here. Loot the suitcase for an item and take the left path first.

This brings us to a room with a locked door. Make a note of this room.

Double back to the previous room and take the exit at the far end of the passage.

We arrive at the reception area of the hotel. There’s a coffee pot that we can use. Exit the building to reach outside.

The path splits off in two directions, north and south. We’ll be heading north first.
Exploring the Northern Section

This brings us to a dark section in the forest. There’s a tree trunk that we can loot for an item. We found a Box Cutter Knife.

On the right side, you’ll find a signboard and a cutout stand of the Adder that you can inspect.

There are two exits here, north and east. We’ll head north first.

Dr. Shulzer will be waiting in the next room. Run through his dialogues. Loot the containers here for some additional items. We didn’t find anything important other than a Matchbox.
There are three exits from this area: north, east, and southeast. The southeastern path connects to the eastern path from the last room, so let’s try that first.

You’ll find a map on the board up ahead. The lamppost has a first aid box, and the bench has a book that you can read for some focus. Collect the map and return to Dr. Shulzer’s area.
Let’s go east this time.

This area has a single backpack under a tree. Loot it for an item. We found a Modern Key. We can now unlock the locked room back at the hotel.

Since we’re pretty close to the hotel, we’ll be doing exactly that. Inside the locked door, we found a Shovel and a Human Bone. These are some great weapons, so the trek back was worth it. Return to Dr. Shulzer’s room and head north next.

You’ll find Joshua standing on top of a car caught in the swamp as Ghouls surround him. He asks for your help.

Since you have some decent weapons, you can take out the Ghouls at this point.

Talk to Joshua after defeating the Ghouls, and he’ll give you a Rusty Bucket as thanks. This will come in handy soon enough. Return to the entrance of the hotel. We’ll take the southern route next.
Exploring the Southern Section

The first room in the southern section has a well. You can use the Rusty Bucket with the well, but the chain isn’t long enough to reach the bottom.

Take the exit in the southeast to reach the next room. We saw a patch of soft ground up ahead. Since we have the Shovel, we can use it to dig it up.

Digging up the ground gave us a Chain that we can use to solve the well puzzle from the last room. But before we do that, let’s check the rest of the area.

Inside the tent up ahead, we found a journal. There’s a backpack right next to the tent that gave us a Thermos. Continue heading east to the next section.

We reach a waterfall. We can see that the path continues on the other side. There’s a large tree here that we can cut down. But we don’t have anything strong enough for the job.

Return to the well and use both the chain and crank with the well. Interact with the crank to drop the bucket inside. You’ll hear a splash, and when the bucket comes back up, you’ll find a Rusty Axe.
Interact with the crank again to collect the Chain, but the Rusty Bucket is gone.

Head back to the unpassable area and use the Rusty Axe on the big tree. It’ll fall over, creating a bridge for you to pass across.
Deeper Into the Forest

On the other side of the bridge, you’ll find the path split off in two directions: southeast and east. We decided to go southeast first.

You can see a birdhouse on top of a large tree. There’s an item inside the birdhouse. You can climb the tree to grab the birdhouse, but a branch will break and you’ll take some damage. So we decided to use the Rusty Axe to cut down the tree. We had to use the Axe three times to cut it down.

Interact with the birdhouse. We found the Golden-Headed Figurine inside it.
The path branches off in three directions from here: southeast, east, and north.

We took the southeastern path and arrived at a small house. Inside, there’s a mechanism and a locked gate.
Use the Chain with the red Pulley on the ground beside the Grinder.

On the eastern side of the room, you’ll find a red valve. Interact with it, and the valve comes off. You can hear water flowing inside, but you can’t do anything else at the moment.

Return to the previous area and take the eastern path next. This leads us to an area filled with spiderwebs and cocoons. Like before, you can strike the cocoons to break them.

But we used Matchsticks to burn them. This kills any Spiderlings that might be inside before they get a chance to fight you.

One of these cocoons had a bag that gave us a Small Chest. This is an important quest item.
The western exit from this room leads to an area with a Giant Spider, so we’ll avoid it for now. Take the eastern exit instead.

You’ll reach an area with four different exits: southwest, north, east, and southeast. The southwestern exit connects to the room with the cottage and the valve.
There’s a tree trunk here that you can loot for an item. Make sure you check your map every now and then to keep track of where you’ve been.

We decided to check the northern passage first and found a water fountain in the next room. There’s a stone slab in front of it.

Interact with it to bring up a puzzle interface.
To solve the puzzle, all you need to do is make sure all the buttons are pressed in. Pressing a button will also cause the buttons in its immediate surroundings to get activated. To solve it, focus on pressing the buttons near the edges, and you’ll crack it eventually.

Once you solve it, the water fountain comes to life and starts overflowing. Follow the water back to the room with the small house.

The mechanism inside will start working, and you can activate the lever beside the gate to open it.

You’ll find a chest inside. We found the Golden Wings, another important quest item, inside the chest.
Finding the Final Golden Piece

Return to the area with the four exits and take the southeastern exit next. You’ll see a bag floating in the swamp. Loot it for an item.

Further into the swamp, you’ll see a tree trunk that you can loot. Head toward it to get ambushed by two Ghouls.

Defeat it and loot the Tree Trunk for another item. Take the northern passage out of the area.

You’ll find yourself in front of a big cottage in the forest. Tutu will fly in and greet you. This is a safe zone.

Run through the dialogues with Tutu and head inside the cottage. You’ll find a coffee pot inside, along with some items.

When you’re ready to move on, head back to the water fountain and take the eastern passage. We’ve yet to explore that area.

You’ll reach a dark forest zone with webs on the tree trunks. There’s a giant spider that comes up to attack you.

Loot the tree trunk up ahead for the final piece of the puzzle, a Golden Headless Lion.

Defeat the Giant Spider and take the northern exit out of the room.
The Cycle of Life Puzzle

This brings you to an area with four pedestals. There are three statues (frog, insect, and eagle) on three of the pedestals, while the fourth one on the left is empty.
You can spot a door on the north, but it’s blocked off. It’s obvious that you need to solve a puzzle to get through.

Combine the three golden pieces that you picked up earlier in your inventory to form a Golden Sphix figure.

Examine the Sphinx Figure and check its wings from above.

Click the interactable spot, and the Sphinx Figure’s face will pop open, revealing a key inside.

Combine the key with the Small Chest in your inventory to unlock it. You’ll find the Snake Statue inside.

Use the Snake Statue with the empty pedestal.

Now, interact with the pedestal so that the:
- Frog looks at the Insect
- Insect looks at the Eagle
- Eagle looks at the Snake
- Snake looks at the Frog
This completes the cycle of life, and the door on the north will open.

In the next room, you’ll see a passage to the north.

As you walk towards it, you get ambushed by three Giant Spiders.

Defeat them all, and a portal appears that you can use to return to the real world. For our next chapter, we’ll be heading into The Cave.
