Welcome to part 4 of our walkthrough for Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken. After meeting Tutu in the last chapter, Amy must now head deeper into the dream. With three path in front of us, we decided to head into the Somnolent Wells City.
Let’s find out what strangeness awaits us in this city of lost souls.
For more information about Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken, check out their official website here.
The rooms and items in this level are randomized. The layout for you may not be the same as in this walkthrough. The puzzles and general progression route, however, will remain the same.
Table of contents
Getting To the City

The chapter begins with Amy in a small room with a TV. We found a Cleaver inside the wardrobe. Take the only exit out of the room to reach the next section.

You’ll arrive at the reception area. It’s empty, but there’s a Coffee Mug on the table you can use to restore Focus. The door up ahead is locked.

On the southern wall, you’ll notice a hole that leads down into a tunnel. Follow it to the next section.

Keep moving straight through the tunnel until you end up inside the bathroom of the train station. Exit through the main door.

Outside, you’ll see Thomas walking through the double doors to the north. He doesn’t respond to Amy’s call.

Check the Toolbox near the wall clock. We found a Screwdriver inside. Go through the eastern door marked with a red sign.

Turn on your Flashlight and keep moving forward. Eventually, you’ll encounter an enemy.

After defeating the monster, you’ll find a lootable box nearby. To open it, you’ll need a Box Cutter Knife. If you’ve unlocked it, spend Focus to spawn the item and use it to cut open the box. We found Painkillers inside.

Once you’re done, take the other exit from the room to reach the train platform. On the platform, you’ll spot an NPC. Talk to him and run through the dialogue. When the conversation ends, the NPC will fade away.

Loot the bag on the nearby bench for an item. We found a Metal Pipe. Go through the brown double doors to re-enter the train station building.
Take the same northern door that Thomas used earlier to finally arrive at Somnolent Wells City.
The Pawn Shop & Thrift Shop

As soon as you step onto the main street of the city, you’ll notice a map pinned to a board on your right. Pick it up.
Across the road, you’ll also spot a mannequin standing menacingly. If you bump into it, it will shatter into pieces. Sometimes, you can loot them for a Plastic Torso, which can be used as a shield.

There are two buildings in front of you to the north. The left building is a Thrift Shop and the one on the right is a Pawn Shop. Let’s start with the Pawn Shop.

Inside the Pawn Shop, you’ll find a notepad on the desk to your left. Read it to gain some Focus. The Vending Machine can be used to buy items if you have Coins. Inspect the poster next to it for some additional Focus.

When you’re ready, head through the open door on the right side.

You’ll now be in a larger room with an NPC waiting inside. As soon as you enter, he’ll start talking to you.

This is Dr. Shulzer, one of the recurring NPCs you’ll encounter throughout your journey. The experimental chair he’s standing next to can be used to exchange some of your Integrity for Focus.
After finishing his dialogue, you can loot the two containers in the room for items. We didn’t find any key quest items here. There’s also a first aid box on the wall with a healing item.
When you’re done, head back outside to the main street and enter the Thrift Shop next door.

The Thrift Shop is filled with mannequins. As you move deeper inside, the lights suddenly go out.

Check the cash register at the counter to collect some Coins.

You’ll see a locked door to the north. There’s also a faint light coming from the left side of the shop. Follow it to find a changing room you can enter.

There’s a mannequin standing inside the changing room. Interact with it to collect a Name Tag.

Examine the Name Tag in your inventory and turn it over to find a code. This will let you unlock the locked door in the shop.

As you exit the changing room, you’ll find that all the mannequins in the store have gathered in front of the changing room. Don’t worry, they won’t attack you. Walk toward the locked door, but also note of the second changing room right beside the first.

Enter the code from the Name Tag to unlock the door and head inside.

This next room is also filled with mannequins, but under the light up ahead you’ll spot a lootable container.

We found a Piece of String inside, the first major quest item for this zone.

At this point, two mannequins in the room will come to life and start chasing you. You can escape without fighting if you’re fast enough.

Back in the main shop area, go into the second changing room. On the other side, you’ll find a door.
Pass through it to loop back into the hotel’s reception area. This acts as a shortcut if you’d like to use the Coffee Mug to restore some lost Focus at this point.

When you’re ready, get back to the main street of the city. We’ll now be heading deeper through a passage in the mist.
The Tenement Building

The next part of the city has a green pickup truck parked awkwardly on the sidewalk. You can interact with it to find an item. We found a Thermos.

Near the building, on the left, you’ll notice a pair of eyes peering out from a grate. When you get close, a voice calls you over.

Talk to the stranger. He’ll say he’s very hungry and asks for food. If you have a food item, like a Can of Meat, you can give it to him. In return, he’ll hand you the Apartment Key.

Once you have the key, enter the building through the Tenement Door.

Inside, inspect the letterbox on your left. Note down the numbers that you see in the letter. For us, they were 6, 14, and 22.

Use the Apartment Key with the door up ahead to open it and head inside.

You’ll find a strange bald man sitting on the floor. He doesn’t react at this point.

There’s also a safe in the room. Interact with it to bring up the lock interface.

It’s an old-fashioned single-dial lock. Use the numbers from the letterbox as your code. Rotate the dial clockwise first, then counterclockwise, and finally clockwise again. Pull the lever to open the safe.
We found a Crowbar inside the safe.
Exit the room and head upstairs. At the next landing, you’ll find a door leading outside.

Continue up another flight of stairs and enter the room.

You’ll arrive at a well-lit apartment. There’s a coffee mug on a table that you can use to refill your Focus.
Interact with the balcony door, and Tutu will fly in.
Talk to her for additional dialogue. She can also heal you back to full health if you choose, but this can only be used once during the current dream.

Return to the second floor of the building. There’s a Poster here that you can read for some additional Focus. When you’re ready, head out of the building through the exit on the second floor.

You’ll find yourself back outside. Loot the taxi and the garbage container for some items. We didn’t find anything important here.

There’s a manhole on the ground leading to the sewer. Use your Crowbar to pry open the lid and climb inside.

Turn on your Flashlight and you’ll notice a sparkling item near the grates. There’s also a door to the right that leads back outside.
Loot the sparkling item to find a Shovel.

At this point, two enemies will spawn near the ladder you used to enter.
You can sprint straight to the door to avoid combat and reach the next section safely.
Deeper Into the Mist

You’ll arrive in a desolate part of the city. There’s a Vending Machine on your left and a broken-down road on your right.
There’s nothing to do here, so head east through the mist to the next section.

On the sidewalk, you’ll find an NPC in a suit. Talk to him.

This is Joshua, a journalist who will be your companion for a while. For now, he needs batteries for his Flashlight. Since we don’t have any yet, we’ll move on for the moment.
To the right side of the road, there are trash cans you can loot for a Trash Can Lid. Once you’re done, go through the door next to Joshua.

You’ll arrive in a fast food shop. Interact with the cash register up ahead to collect some Coins.

There’s a door next to the register that leads to the back of the room. It’s locked, but you can break it open with any blunt weapon from your inventory.
Head inside and inspect the cooking stations. We found a Hamburger in one of them.

At the far end of the room, enter the freezer.

The door will lock behind you. Check the locker inside for an item.

We found a Hook which is another important quest item for this zone.

On the wall, you’ll notice two cable boxes side by side. Interacting with them opens a puzzle interface.

The puzzle is simple: your goal is to connect the red and green wires on the left cable box to the matching red and green wires on the right one. The challenge is that most of the cables are cut.
You’ll need to figure out which two wires are still intact in order to make the connection.
Start with either box and note which wires are cut. Do the same for the other box. This will eliminate four out of the six wires, leaving you with the correct pair to use. In the above image, the wires 1 and 6 are intact.
Once you solve the puzzle, the door to the freezer will fly open.

Head back to the main area of the store. There’s a second exit here that we can take to get to the next section of the city.

Back on the main street, you’ll see a sewer grate up ahead. There’s an item inside, but you can’t reach it.

As you move further down the road, a police car crashes into a fire hydrant. Check the trunk of the car for loot. We got some Painkillers.

Combine the Hook with the Piece of String in your inventory and use it on the grate. We found an important quest item here a Fuse.

Inspect the large poster of the clown on the wall up ahead, then head through the door on the left.

You’ll arrive in a superstore. Loot the cash register for some Coins, and pick up the Thermos on the counter.
Take the door on the right side of the store to reach the next area.

You’ll find yourself at the base of a staircase. Go upstairs to a door with a Fuse Box mounted on the wall beside it. You can open it, but it appears to be functioning normally.
Go through the door into the apartment.

Inside, you’ll see a large mannequin. The microwave on the side is sparking, and a propane tank sits next to the stove.

As you step further into the room, the lights suddenly go out.

Head back outside and check the Fuse Box. The fuse has burnt out.

Return inside and inspect the stove. Amy will notice that there’s an item inside, but the mannequin is blocking it.
You can try to move the mannequin by hand, but it won’t budge.

Use any sharp weapon from your inventory on the propane tank to cause a leak.

Then go back to the Fuse Box, insert the new Fuse, and switch the power back on. This triggers an explosion inside the apartment.

Re-enter the room and a Smoldering Husk will spawn, triggering a fight.

After defeating the monster, loot the stove to collect an item. We found the Bolt Cutter.
With that done, return to the main street and continue heading east.
Reaching the Casino

The next area has three Shades patrolling the street, but they’re fairly easy to avoid. Simply run through the mist to the east to reach the next section. Or you could defeat them if you want.

On your left in the next area, you’ll see a park gate, but it’s locked. Use the Bolt Cutter you picked up earlier to cut the lock and enter.

Inside the park, check the benches to find a Thermos on one and a Notebook on another. On the left side of the park, you’ll notice a patch of soft ground.
Use the Shovel to dig the ground.

A Shade and a Ghoul will spawn and attack you. Defeat them, then loot the patch of soil for an item. We found Batteries.

Now you can return to Joshua and give him the batteries for his flashlight. In return, he’ll reward you with an 8-Sided Spanner.
Head back to the area outside the park and continue east.

You’ll arrive at a drawbridge, but it’s closed. Use the 8-Sided Spanner on the electrical cabinet to open it. Inside, we found a Cardboard Box.

Combine the Cardboard Box with any sharp item from your inventory to cut it open. You’ll find a Modern Key inside. This is the final quest item of the zone.

Use the Modern Key on the bridge control panel to lower the drawbridge. Continue east to arrive outside the casino.

There’s a red car nearby that you can loot for an item.

When you’re ready, approach the Ghoul guarding the casino entrance. Two Shades will spawn beside it, triggering a fight.

After defeating the monsters, a portal will appear on the ground. Use it to return to the real world.
The map has a new area called The Casino that we can check out. However, we’ll first be heading into The Attic to see what that area has to offer.
