Welcome to part 5 of our walkthrough for Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken. After exploring Somnolent Wells City, we unlocked a new zone called The Lucky Casino. However, before we head in, we’ll be taking a peek inside The Attic of the hotel.
For more information about Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken, check out their official website here.
The rooms and items in this level are randomized. The layout for you may not be the same as in this walkthrough. The puzzles and general progression route, however, will remain the same.
Table of contents
Reaching The Attic

Like before, this chapter starts with Amy in the small room with a TV. Check the wardrobe for an item. We found a Pickaxe. Exit the room.

You’ll find yourself in the Elevator room. There’s a room to the west, one south-west, and one south-east.

Let’s take the south-eastern door first. Head down the passage and go inside the room at the end.

You’ll find Joshua waiting for you inside the lost and found room. Talk to him.

After exhausting his dialogue, he hands you an Instant Camera. He wants you to capture three photos of the monsters.
The lost and found room has a wardrobe you can loot, a first aid box, and a coffee mug that you can use to refill your focus.
Once you’re ready, head outside to the passage and walk towards the exit.

The lights will go out and a monster will spawn. Use the Instant Camera to snap a picture. You need to do this three times.

After that, defeat the monster, and return to Joshua with the Instant Camera. He gave us the Modern Key as a reward.
Return to the Elevator room and take the western door next.

This leads to the passage with luggage at the end. Loot the Suitcase for an item. We found a Wrench.
Go back out and inside the south-western room next.

We found Dr. Shulzer in this room. We can loot a couple of boxes here for some items and can use the Experimental Chair to swap Integrity for Focus. There’s also a note near the NPC that you can read.
Talk to Dr. Shulzer for some dialogue and then head back to the elevator.

Call the Elevator and use the Modern Key with the Panel inside. This will activate the Elevator, and it’ll take you up to the attic.
Exploring the Eastern Route

After reaching the top using the elevator, we find the path split off in two directions: north and east. We decided to go east first.

The next room has a red book on the ground. Inspect it for some focus. There’s a barrel in the room that you can break using a blunt weapon. We also found a cardboard box that can be opened using a sharp weapon like a Box Cutter Knife. There’s also a toolbox in the room that gave us a Screwdriver.

Continue heading east into the next room.

This brings us to a room filled with covered mannequins. There’s a big cardboard box at the center of the room. Run towards it.

You’ll be ambushed by two mannequins. Defeat them and loot the box.

We received a Hook, our first quest item for the chapter. Exit through the door on the south-east.

This takes us outside onto the roof of the hotel.

Walk towards the edge, and Tutu will fly in. Exhaust her dialogue options. We found a screwdriver in the toolbox nearby.

Return to the elevator room of the attic. We’ll explore the northern route next.
Fighting A Giant Spider

The northern room has four exits. The path to the southeast leads to the eastern room from the elevator, so we don’t need to go there. There’s a path in the north and a path in the west that we’ll have to check out.

In the middle of the room, you’ll see a hanging cloth covering an object. Interact with it.

You’ll find a map pinned to a board. Pick it up to unlock the map for this zone.

There’s a barrel on the western side of the door. Break it open to loot the item inside and head through the south-western exit.

We reached an area lined with shelves. We can spot a cardboard box on the other side of the shelf.

There is a toolbox and another cardboard box in the room. Loot them all for the items inside.
Head through the western exit of the room.

We reached a dark room with spider webs everywhere.

As you head further into the room, a Giant Spider will spawn and attack you.
This will be a tough battle, but you should have plenty of offensive items to handle the encounter.
After defeating the enemy, loot the web-covered body on the ground for an item. We got Painkillers.
You’ll notice three web-covered cocoons hanging in the room just below.

Use any weapons in your inventory to break the cocoons. One of them will contain a set of Spiderlings that’ll attack you.

But we also found a Grease Can in one of them. This is an important quest item.
Once you’re done with this zone, return to the room with the map and continue through the northern passage.
Exploring the Northern Route

The next room is a safe zone with three cardboard boxes inside and an exit to the north. We didn’t find anything important in them. Continue heading north into the next room.

The next room was also empty for us. There’s a barrel here and a cupboard. We found the Matchbox in the cupboard.
Take the exit on the southeast to reach the next section.

This takes us to the roof of the hotel. There’s a chimney here that we can see, and interacting with it shows that there’s an item inside. But Amy can’t reach it at this point.
Go through the second window on the roof.

This brings you to an area with three mannequins locked in a specific pose at the center of the room. There’s a menacing mannequin, a limp mannequin, and a kneeling mannequin.

The limp mannequin has something on its face. Interact with it and pick up the Smiling Mask.

The menacing mannequin has a knife in its hand. You can try to pick it up, but it’s stuck tight.
Use the Grease Can from your inventory to loosen it up. You can now collect it to add to your inventory as a new weapon.

There’s nothing else to do in this room at the moment. For us, there were two exits in this room, one to the north and one to the east. Let’s head east first.

This brings us to a large room with mannequins in the middle. As soon as you step in, three of the mannequins come to life and start running towards you. They are pretty slow, and you can avoid them if you want.
There are two items that you can pick up in the room. One is inside a cardboard box on the left, and the other is inside a pouch on the western side of the room. We didn’t find anything important here.

You’ll notice two exits in the room (north and south). We’ll take the southern exit first.

We arrive in a child’s bedroom. There are toys all over the floor. On the left side of the room, you’ll see a child’s bed on the ground.
There’s a coffee pot in the room that we can use to restore focus, but not much else we can do at the moment. Take the eastern exit from here.

We find a mannequin in a small room. It has a pull cord attached to it.

Pull on the cord and it’ll spring to life. Run through the dialogues, pulling the cord each time you ask a question.

Once you’re done, use a weapon from your inventory to break the mannequin. Pick up the Big Wind-Up Key from the pieces on the floor.
There’s a cardboard box in the room that you can loot.

Return to the room where the three mannequins tried to ambush you and take the northern exit.
Solving The Puzzles

We arrived in a room with mannequins hanging all around us.

Loop around to the other side of the room, and you’ll see a big metal chest in the middle. There’s a cardboard box here that you can loot, also.

Interact with the metal chest to bring up a puzzle interface. Hmm.. this seems tricky. Adder will call out to you as soon as you exit the interface, but we’re not going to let him bite us.
The solution to this puzzle is hidden in the walls of the room. You’ll notice three scars on the walls in this room. Inspecting them will give you the following images.

The images refer to the symbols in the puzzle. The solution is given in the image below.

Loot the container for a key item. We found the Chain.

Two mannequins will come to life at this point in the room. You can fight them, or loop around to the other side of the room and run to the exit.

Return to the room with the three posing mannequins and head out to the roof. Combine the Chain with the Hook in your inventory to get a Hook on a Chain. Use it with the chimney.

We found a Sinister Mask.

At this point, a Smoldering Husk crawls out of the chimney and attacks you. Defeat the monster and get back inside the room with the three posing mannequins.
We still haven’t explored the northern route from this room, so head through.

You’ll see a posing ballerina in the middle of the room. There’s a locked gate on the other side.

Use the Big Wind-Up Key you found earlier with the Ballerina. But you can’t turn it as it’s stuck.

Use the Grease Can from your inventory with the Ballerina. Interact with it to wind it up, and the Ballerina will start spinning.

The gate on the other side of the room will open, and you can head through.

There’s a chest in the next room that you can loot for a Tiger Plushie. You’ll also find a cardboard box and a garbage container that you can loot in the same room.

Exit the room to get ambushed by three mannequins. Defeat them and head back to the child’s room from earlier.

Use the Tiger Plushie with the child’s mattress. Head over to the eastern room and come back inside.

You’ll find a pouch on the child’s bed now. Loot it to find a Masked Mannequin Head.
Return to the room with the three posing mannequins.
Solving the Three Mannequin Puzzle

Now that we’ve got all three masks, we’re ready to solve the final puzzle of the chapter. Examine the Smiling Mask in your inventory and flip it over. It turns into a Frowning Mask.

Put it on the face of the kneeling mannequin.

Next, combine the Screwdriver in your inventory with the Masked Mannequin Head. This will give you the Death Mask.

Put it on the face of the lying mannequin.

Finally, use the Sinister Mask with the menacing mannequin.

The menacing mannequin will jump to life and attack you.

Defeat the mannequin, and a portal will open in the room. Use it to return to the real world.
Run through your daily activities and check the answering machine before you put on the Electrode Cap. The next part will take us into the Forest of the Lost.
