Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken Walkthrough – Tutu’s Shrine, Imaginary Prisons

Welcome to part 9 of our walkthrough for Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken. After defeating the three Dream Abominations, Amy must find Tutu to get some answers. 

The search for Tutu leads you to a shrine of the dream guardian.

Tutu’s Shrine

As you wake up in Tutu’s Shrine, you’ll find yourself in front of a large golden sculpture of Tutu driving her spear through a Shadow Person. At the base of the statue, there’s an Ankh. Pick it up.

There are three exits from the central shrine, with lines connecting each exit to the statue.

Head north to reach the next section. The line from the shrine passes through this room toward a northern exit, but you’ll also see a doorway to the east. Check there first.

You’ll enter a large chamber with a pool of water in the middle. As soon as you step inside, a Shadow Person will emerge from the wall. There’s a blue pressure switch in the room.

As the Shadow Person closes in on you, loop around the pool and step on the pressure switch, then quickly exit the room.

Your goal here is to activate three pressure switches located in three directions branching out from the shrine. As you step on one, the line will start to glow.

The Shadow Person will continuously chase you during this sequence. Unlike other enemies in the game, you cannot kill it. Your only option is to dodge and keep moving.

Once all three pressure plates are triggered, return to the central shrine. Tutu will appear and attack the Shadow Person with her spear.

Run through the dialogue, after which a portal will open in the shrine. Use it to return to the real world. Our next destination is the Imaginary Prisons,where we’ll have to find a being called The Prisoner.


Imaginary Prisons

The next zone is filled with powerful enemies that can take you down easily. Make sure you’ve upgraded as much as possible to make the zone easier.

Entering The Prison

As you enter the dream of Imaginary Prisons, you’ll find yourself in the Forest of the Lost. There’s a path to the north, and a tree trunk nearby you can loot. You’ll find a Pickaxe inside it.

Head north through the path and you’ll find yourself inside a cave. You can spot a crack on the ground. Use the pickaxe to break the floor.

This will create a new path taking you down to the real prison.

The Upper level

You’ll find yourself at the top of a dark staircase. As you move forward, the lamps in the room will flicker to life. Continue into the next section.

The following room has two Old Chests and two barrels that you can loot. We found a couple of items, but nothing essential for this zone. There are two paths forward here, one to the east and one to the south. Head south first.

You’ll enter a room with six jail cells. The bottom-right cell contains a map, so make sure to go in and collect it.

There’s also a metal chest in the middle cell on the left. To reach it, break open the bottom jail cell with the Pickaxe.

Go inside, then use the Pickaxe again on the metal chest. Amy will drag the chest closer, allowing you to loot the items inside. We found some more Pickaxes in it.

Continue moving south to reach the next section.

In this room, you’ll see a cage dangling from the ceiling. If you have Bolt Cutters, you can cut the chain to make it drop. Otherwise, you’ll need to strike the cage multiple times with other tools until it falls. We found a Cleaver inside the cage. Go through the door leading southwest.

This room has three gears on the ground and a board with several pegs where you can place the gears.

However, there are only three gears in the room, while the board clearly has slots for four. You’ll also notice that the fourth peg on the board is missing.

You can pull the lever in the room to make the gears start spinning, but it won’t do anything until you locate both the fourth gear and the missing peg.

With nothing more to do here for now, return to the first room in the prison and take the eastern door instead.

Finding the Metal Peg

The first room to the east leads into a narrow staircase. The path continues further east, so keep moving forward.

You’ll arrive in a room with a patrolling enemy. This is a Tormented Soul. You can either fight him or avoid him by looping around his patrol path.

There’s a bag inside the cage here you can loot. We found a Trash Can Lid inside it. From this room, there are two exits: one to the east and one to the west. Head east first.

In the next room, there’s a barrel you can loot. Cross the narrow beam to the other side and interact with the golden body bag to pull it up. We found a Bolt Cutter inside.

There’s also a second exit here leading southwest. Take this door.

You’ll enter another room with a second Tormented Soul patrolling. There’s an Old Chest you can loot. Continue east through the next door.

This leads to a room partially flooded with water. You’ll see a ladder heading down, but it can’t be used yet because of the water level. On the ground beside the ladder, you’ll find the missing Metal Peg. Pick it up.

With the Metal Peg in hand, backtrack to the room with the first Tormented Soul you encountered and this time take the western path.

Finding the Missing Gear

The western path from the room with the patrolling Tormented Soul leads you to Dr. Shulzer’s chamber. Only this time, Dr. Shulzer himself is missing. Near the entrance, you’ll find a Broken Glass and a Bloody Lab Coat on the floor.

There’s a notepad beside the Experimental Chair that you can inspect. The room has three exits: north, east, and west.

The western path only leads to a dead-end staircase.

Take the northern path next. You’ll arrive in front of a massive tree covered in clocks. Make a note of it, then return to Dr. Shulzer’s room and take the eastern path next.

Here, you’ll see a body bag hanging above a bed of spikes, attached to a rope. If you cut the rope directly, the body will fall onto the spikes.

The person inside the bag calls out for your help. There’s a lever next to the spikes that you can activate to lower them, but it only lasts a few seconds before they rise again.

If you’ve unlocked the Box of Matches from the upgrade window, use the Imagination system to get it in your inventory.

Use the Matches on the rope to set it on fire, then quickly run to the lever and pull it to lower the spikes. The bag will drop safely.

Joshua crawls out of the bag. Speak with him and he’ll give you a Pocket Watch before fading away.

Return to the room with the large tree. Check the middle clock on the tree and note the time it shows.

Examine the Pocket Watch in your inventory. Interact with it and stop the hands when they match the time shown on the tree’s clock.

If done correctly, a hidden drawer will open in the tree. Inside, you’ll find a Small Cogwheel.

Heading to the Lower Levels

With both the missing gear and the peg in your inventory, return to the room with the cogwheels. Use the Metal Peg on the board to attach it.

Next, place the gears into the slots as shown in the image above. Pull the lever, and the chain in the room will begin to move.

Now return to the room that was previously flooded with water. The water level has gone down, allowing you to use the ladder to descend into the lower levels of the Imaginary Prisons.

The Lower Levels

As you head down the ladder, you’ll find a path leading east. Go through the door to the next room.

You’ll arrive in a chamber with quicksand in the middle. There are two exits here: south and southeast.

As you move toward the southern exit, three Ghouls will spawn in the quicksand. You can either defeat them or bait them to one side while you quickly run down the middle to escape. Take the southern exit.

This leads to a stairway. Two body bags are hanging from the platform. Pulling up the first one spawns a Ghoul, so you may want to avoid it.

The second body bag, down the first set of stairs, gives you an item. We found some Nailed Planks. Continue through the southern door of this room.

You’ll now reach a dark chamber filled with cages. There are no enemies here, but you’ll find two bags inside separate cages. Loot them for items. We found some Painkillers and a Wrench. There are three exits from this room: southwest, west, and east. Head east first.

In this room, you’ll see a brazen bull at the center. You can hear someone inside calling out for help. You can either pry open the hatch or light the hearth beneath it, which kills whoever is trapped inside.

We recommend using a Crowbar to pry open the hatch. Otherwise, you’ll trigger a fight against a Smoldering Husk.

After opening the hatch, Amy will find that no one is actually inside the bull. Instead, you’ll collect a Small Key.

There are three exits in this room: north, east, and southeast. Take the southeastern exit.

This brings you to a staircase. The path forward is guarded by a Tormented Soul. Defeat it and continue through to the next section.

In the next room, you’ll see a huge hole in the middle. A Tormented Soul patrols nearby, but you can avoid fighting it. Loot the old chest here and continue through the eastern path.

As soon as we stepped into the next room, we got ambushed by another Tormented Soul. Since this is an important area, we decided to take it down.

Loot the small bag inside a cage, then speak to the person trapped in the cage at the center of the room. Run through his dialogue and take the eastern exit.

You’ll enter an area with a body bag hanging on the left side. Up ahead, there’s a stone pedestal with a slot for an item and a lever next to it. In the middle of the room is a bridge that needs to be activated to get across.

Now head back to the area with the brazen bull and take the eastern exit. You’ll reach an area with two Tormented Souls up ahead. Defeat them.

Loot the Iron Maiden at the end of the room for a Green Glass Eye.

Take the northern exit from the brazen bull area next. This takes you to a staircase. Go thorugh the door at the end to loop back to the quicksand area.

This completes one side of the lower level. Now head back to the dark cage room to explore the other side.

Lower Level West

From the dark room, take the southwest door first. This leads to another dead-end staircase. There’s a Tormented Soul up ahead, but there’s no reason to fight it.

Return to the dark room and take the western exit next. You’ll arrive in a large chamber with a burning cauldron in the middle. A Jailer patrols the area, but you don’t have to fight it.

There are three exits from this room: north, west, and southwest.

The northern door leads to a room with five Iron Maidens. You can loot the two near the entrance, but the other three are locked behind a gate. After looting the first two, return to the room with the Jailer.

Take the western path next. This room is filled with torture equipment, but at the far end, you can see an old chest and another Iron Maiden.

As you approach the chest, two Wrecked Souls will spawn and attack you. Defeat them, then loot the Iron Maiden to obtain a Brown Glass Eye.

Two more enemies will appear as you make your way to the exit, but you can use Escape to run back to the Jailer’s room before they can attack.

Now take the southwestern door from the Jailer’s room. You’ll see a Tormented Soul patrolling up ahead. There’s also a curtain hanging on the wall.

Defeat the enemy and interact with the curtain to reveal a hidden hole in the wall. Go through the hole to reach a safe spot. Here, you’ll find an Old Chest, a Backpack, and a Note you can read. There’s also a Coffee Pot you can use to restore Focus.

The Iron Maiden

Now that you have both Glass Eyes, return to the prisoner you spoke to earlier.

Give him the Green and Brown Glass Eyes, and in exchange he’ll hand you a Golden Key.

Head back to the room with the five Iron Maidens and use the Golden Key to unlock the gate.

We found a Screwdriver in the Iron Maiden on the left. The one on the right didn’t have any items for us. Just a dead Ghoul that dropped down on Amy as she opened the door.

Interacting with the middle Iron Maiden will trigger a mini-boss fight against the Iron Maiden itself. This enemy can also summon minions during the battle.

After defeating it, loot the remains to obtain a Small Chest. Combine the Small Chest with the Small Key you found earlier to unlock it.

You’ll get a Cylinder with Symbols inside the chest. With the cylinder in hand, return to the room with the Stone Pedestal and the unactivated bridge.

Unlocking the Way Forward

Examine the Cylinder with Symbols in your inventory to open a puzzle window.

Each side of the cylinder is covered in symbols. You can only rotate the top and bottom parts.

Your goal is to align the symbols so they form a complete circuit on all sides.

Once the symbols are correctly lined up, press the button on top to get a Green Gem.

Place the Green Gem into the Stone Pedestal, then pull the lever to activate the bridge. Cross over and head toward the eastern door.

As you approach, three Jailers will come out of the door and advance toward you. This time, you have no choice but to fight them.

Defeat the three Jailers and proceed through the eastern door.

In the next room, Amy will see a big barrier. She’ll say that she can sense The Prisoner in there. A portal will appear at this point. Use it to return to the real world.
