Welcome to our Deltarune Chapter 5 walkthrough, which has made its triumphant return after leaving us on a major cliffhanger in Chapters 3+4. The school festival is upon us, but the dark worlds continue to brew behind, and the Roaring Knight’s mystery thickens. Who are they? What are their motives? If you haven’t played Deltarune, then check out its Steam page.
In this walkthrough, I’ll cover the entirety of Chapter 5, excluding the secret boss and weird route, as the community will take a day or two to dissect their clues.

Returning Home
Chapter 4 ended with Kris watching Susie from their room’s window. And at the beginning of Deltarune Chapter 5, they climb back to their room and uncover the cage to put their heart, the player (us), back inside. Once you get to control them, leave the room. In the hallway, interact with the mirror, and it will say you can’t meet your eyes with yourself.
Go right to descend the stairs and enter the main hall. There, Torial will be asleep, but as she sees Kris, she’ll wake up and ask them to toast a slice of bread with honey on top. Use the microwave to toast the bread, then wait ten seconds before taking it out. Kris will put honey on it, and you’ll have the honey toast. Give it to Toriel, and as she eats it, she will ask how did you sleep. I selected “Fine and Dandy,” but she isn’t convinced.
The topic changes, and Toriel apologizes for staying awake too long and blasting music all night with Sans. Another dialog choice appears, where I selected “We were locked out,” explaining how the house was locked when Kris and Susie tried to return home. In her defense, she says she tried to call Kris, but they didn’t answer her call. While she was initially worried, Sans told her that they and Susie were hanging out together, so she didn’t give it a second thought.
She wonders how it would feel to surprise Asriel at the dormitory today, as his exams are ending and he’s bound to come home. After the conversation ends, leave the house. Go south, then turn right at the intersection to meet Asgore. When he tells Kris that he and Toriel were crowned King and Queen of the festival, say “I didn’t know.” He tells the story in full detail, which reveals that he named his flower store after it; it’s called Flower King.
Suddenly, he brings up a serious topic about Toriel. Asgore knows she’s living on a teacher’s salary as a single parent. It must be tough for her, and after he gets his old job back, thanks to Carol, he will help Toriel.
From here, go down the road and turn right to find a save point. To your left, there’s a town resident who says that if Kris is ready for his show tonight.
Now, turn right to reach Kris’s school. Head inside and move straight through the store room door to enter Castle Town.
Castle Town
Walk forward to talk with Ralsei and Lancer, who are extremely excited for the festival. He shows his tongue and tells Kris and Ralsei that Susie has her big date today. After Chapter 4, Castle Town has opened a cathedral, where you can play a piano and listen to all the characters’ theme notes. Take your time, and then head towards the Castle; save the game with the save point near its entrance.
Note: I will be skipping conversations with NPCs, unless they play a role in developing the story.
Inside, cross the small race track and enter through the door to meet Queen, who’s measuring Susie’s height. When she asks about it, Queen puts herself into focus and says, “I’m very tall,” and laughs. Susie tells Ralsei that Queen is measuring her length to find a perfect dress for her date with Noelle. Then, she runs away, all flustered.
Ralsei wonders how he and Kris can help her, and suddenly, Lancer drops from the sky. He comes up with a plan, showing a blueprint to give Susie a proper look. As Kris and Ralsei look at it, a menu will open up where you can personalize her outfit.
I selected the following:
- Hair: 01
- Shirt: 06
- Pant: 05
- Hat: 00
- Sho: 05
End the sequence, and Lancer will call it a great outfit. He calls Susie to show the outfit they made, but she says there was no need for it. Queen arrives, immediately prints the outfit, and puts it on Susie. After a minute of silence, she takes it off and says she’s fine as is. With her classic outfit, she joins us at our party.
Now, head left and visit the living quarters. Past Queen and Tenna’s room, you will find Ralsei’s room, but the path is blocked by a tape. He tells Susie to wait until he cleans it up, but as rabid as she is, she wastes no time and barges in. Follow her into the room to see a gloomy, all-empty room with only one window.
She angrily asks him about it, and for Ralsei, he wants the best for his best friends, not for himself. He believes he, a darkner, shouldn’t even have a room, but she disagrees. Susie says that she and Kris will fill the room to the brim and keep an eye out for furniture. He’s happy hearing this, and when Susie leaves, Ralsei comes to us and reveals that, for the first time in his life, he’s developing his own opinions as a darkner. He asks whether he deserves to have these feelings.
“Please be yourself.”
He becomes red. As Ralsei tries to talk about something, Susie barges in with furniture item number one: A dustbin…
See the little Ralsei plushie? Kris gifted it to him, which he will cherish forever. Now, when the party is ready to move, check with everyone if you like, and then exit Castle Down. You won’t be able to return here for the whole day.
After bidding farewell to Ralsei, Susie and Kris leave; Queen suddenly changes her outfit as they fly back to the real world. However, when they leave the store room, her outfit disappears, and she asks about her look.
“Great”
Head towards the school’s exit. But before you can leave, Susie says that if things go well with Noelle, they can sneak into her house again and steal the code for the secret bunker in the southern area of the town.
Susie And Noelle’s Date
As soon as you leave the school, turn left to find Noelle. Susie and Noelle complement each other’s outfits (she doesn’t know about the trash in her hair). Noelle starts laughing and tells her about it. She immediately brushes it off, and when it comes to finding an activity for their date, Susie asks Kris about it.
Noelle joins them, and it’s now up to you to lead them. Go left to find the entire town covered in confetti, as everyone celebrates the festival’s arrival. Check around the town and talk with everyone to know what they’re doing. It’s optional, but it adds depth to the characters and your surroundings.
Note: I stayed as positive as possible with the town residents, hearing their stories and helping them. Who knows it might help us in achieveing a 'good' ending when the final chapter releases? I've been attached to Deltarune and Undertale since my childhood, so I just can't leave any interactions.
This also reveals that Noelle’s dad has also been discharged from the hospital after a long time, and he’s setting up the lighting to make the town hall look brighter. Unlike Carol, Noelle’s mother, her dad is very supportive of Susie and her. There are so many references to Undertale in the town. Make sure to explore it fully for the best Deltarune experience.
After you interact with everyone in the town, move north from the save point intersection to find the festival’s entrance. If you turn right, you will find Berdly, which initiates a very interesting interaction.
Once that’s done, go left to find the town resident who’s going to perform with his girlfriend, but he’s extremely nervous as people wait outside Noelle’s house. You’ll have the chance to talk to three girls behind the crowd, and you can tell one of them to visit the stage to help the nervous resident.
However, this turns into a mess as they just play a single note and shut off the performance. After this whole extravaganza, go right, and now you can go further. Talk to Asgore, and then continue moving right to receive a choice between “Finish Festival, Go To Beach” and “Continue Being At The Festival.” If you think you’ve interacted with everyone and completed all activities, then go to the beach.
A few hours later, Susie and Noelle’s date is progressing smoothly, but Kris has their head on the table, as if they’re tired; they’re actually asleep. Suddenly, Carol calls Noelle, but she doesn’t want to pick up. Since she doesn’t have a choice, she decides to do it, but Susie snatches it and throws it away, saying that if she lost her phone, she wouldn’t receive a call.
However, Susie wonders if she threw her phone a little too hard. They decide to check it, and surprisingly, it’s all fine. She gets on her knees and gives Noelle her phone back. Kris is still asleep, so Noelle and Susie decide to sit near the lake and watch the sunset.
They talk about how good their date was, and then Susie goes into the lake. She asks whether Noelle wants to do “something crazy.” She says her suit will get all dirty, but to make it convenient, Susie carries her in her arms and goes into the lake.
There, they talk out their hearts. Noelle explains how she always wanted to run away from her home, but she’s too weak to do so. Noelle calls her strong as she’s handling everything on her plate well, which is already too much. So, after a few moments, they leave the lake, and Noelle finally picks up Carol’s call. In the heat of the moment, she says that she can’t go to the festival as she’s with Susie, since she really likes her.
She cuts the call, and Susie says she likes her too. Now, Susie leaves to get ice cream, and Noelle takes a huge sigh of relief on her knees, as everything went better than expected. As she sees Kris, she tries to ask them how much of their conversation they heard, until Carol calls again. When Noelle tries to cut her off again, she tells her about her dad, who fell at the festival; she’s been calling for hours to tell her.
Noelle apologizes and tells Kris to tell Susie that she left due to an emergency. Moments later, Susie returns with ice cream, but she can’t find her. She wakes Kris up and laughs at their face, covered in red marks, then asks about Noelle. Kris tells her everything, and they decide to follow her.
Go left from the beach. There, Susie will visit Asgore’s shop to get flowers for Noelle. When she heads inside, Kris rips us, the heart, from his body and throws us into the dustbin.
Suddenly, they take out their knife, and before they can do anything, Susie arrives, but she looks in the opposite direction. She wonders if the flowers are fine for her, and this gives Kris enough time to enter the shop from the back entrance.
As soon as she turns around, Kris opens up a Dark Fountain in his father’s shop. Susie drops the flowers and remains stunned. Without giving it a second thought, she opens the door and calls out to Kris.
He doesn’t wait and heads inside. From the back entrance, Kris returns, puts us back into his body, and falls into the fountain.
Entering Flower King’s Dark World
Kris meets Susie in the newly formed dark world, and she mentions how peaceful this entrance is. Save the game, and then move forward. As you follow the path, Susie immediately points out Asgore above, and he seems to be talking to someone else.
Now, the game takes a different direction. We see an anime-esque cutscene for the first time, where a new character, who’s all golden, appears. He greets Kris and is surprised by how big they have grown. He pats them on the head, and Susie asks who the hell is he?
He apologizes for the confusion and introduces himself as Flowery (Rings a bell, doesn’t it?), who has golden eyes, an SSS blood type, and the Flower star sign. He was Asgore’s college roommate and best friend from the past.
When she asks to introduce him further, he comes forward and holds her hand while on his knees. Suddenly, a flower blooms out of Susie’s hand; it’s for her. From behind, Asgore arrives, and Flowery immediately covers Susie and Kris in bushes to hide them from him.
After they leave, our protagonists come out from the bushes and decide to explore the world for more answers.
