Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Demon Tides. Demon Tides is a 3D platformer where you’ll have to explore three oceans to gather Golden Gears and find a way to Ragnar’s Castle to confront him.
After defeating the Jester and exploring the rest of Lokitana, you would’ve gathered at least 10 Golden Gears, and that’s enough to take you to Shiverbeaks, where you’ll find new challenges.

Heading To Shiverbeaks
Shiverbeaks is the next ocean that can be unlocked, following Lokitana. You’ll have to gather a total of 10 Golden Gears by completing various challenges in the Lokitana region.
Once you’ve gathered enough Golden Gears, return to Runa’s Village and interact with the container in front of her. Select Shiverbeaks from the interface, and you’ll unlock a cutscene.

Runa activates her cannon and fires the ship towards the Shiverbeaks ocean. However, as Beebz and the crew are flying through the air, Ragnar will make an appearance.
Ragnar threatens Beebz and takes her away from the ship. He asks her to stay away and makes it clear that he wasn’t the one who sent her the letter of invitation.

Looking For The Crew
After Ragnar has left, you’ll find yourself in King’s Landing. There is a challenge here that will unlock one of the gates somewhere, and you must complete this challenge as soon as possible.
Now, you have to look for your crew. Explore the surrounding islands and look for a challenge. Once you’ve completed a challenge and opened a treasure chest, you’ll receive a call from the crew.

They’ll let you know that they’re fine and they’ve sent a flare into the sky. They’ll also ask you to find them whenever you can. You’ll want to do this as soon as possible because you’re unable to fast travel until you get your crew back.
If you chase the smoke on the horizon, you’ll eventually arrive at a location called Runa’s Cannon. Here, you’ll find your crew in a perfectly healthy shape.

Runa will also arrive to tell you more about the area. Shiverbeaks is ruled over by Tridentarius, an evil scientist of sorts, and she’s also the creator of those Gearserkers that you’ve seen so far in the seas. Runa marks a circle on your map, showing you where Tridentarius resides.
Defeating Tridentarius is completely optional – it gives you an extra talisman slot, but remember that your main priority is to find more Golden Gears. You’ll need a total of 20 Golden Gears to unlock Thuintir.

Tridentarius Gearserkium
Before you head to this area, keep in mind that there are three locked gates in this location. You can only reach Tridentarius if you’ve unlocked all three gates. To unlock the gates, you must interact with the switch on some other island in Shiverbeaks.
The first switch is in King’s Landing. You can find the second switch in the Red Forest. Meanwhile, the third switch is on a small island, which is part of the Giant’s Fire area. Once you’ve unlocked all three gates, you can make your way to the Tridentarius Gearserkium.

Exploring The Gearserkium
As you enter the area, you have to walk straight ahead and avoid the presses. Jump on some platforms, and you’ll shortly arrive at the first gate.
If you’ve opened it, Tridentarius will appear on screen, quite anxious about the idea that her security system had failed her. Go through the gate, and you’ll arrive on the outside of the tower.

You’ll have to do some wall running here and climb some walls, and a long ladder to get to a maze-like room. The camera shifts to the top in this area. The second locked door is at the end of this maze.
Here, you have to go right and keep going until you reach the path’s end with a turn towards the north. Now, keep heading north until you reach a crossroad. Here, you have to take the path going left. If you keep going on the path, you’ll soon spot a platform with yellow paint on the ground.

Keep following the yellow-painted path, and you’ll arrive at the second gate. Go through the gate and take the rail outside. You’ll have to do a lot more wall running and climbing to get to the next and final door.
If you’ve already unlocked the third gate, you can simply walk inside, and you’ll find a Gearserker here.

Gearserker: Treaded Snake Bomber
Unlike most of the other Gearserkers that you’ve encountered so far, this one has cannons for arms. The arena for this fight is very small to boot, so you have to watch out for where you step, given that this enemy spits poison as well.
The strategy to beat this Gearserker is to wait for it to shoot bombs out of the cannons. Avoid these bombs, and once they’ve fallen to the ground without exploding, you can pick them up or use a boost attack on them to damage the Gearserker.

After taking damage, the Gearserker will open up its chest, revealing the gear inside of it, and you’ll have to use the Boost attack to deal true damage to it. Once you’ve dealt three hits to the Gearserker, it will be defeated.
The Gearserker will drop a Golden Gear on defeat. You can place a checkpoint flag before and after the battle near its arena. There’s an elevator shortly ahead of where you just fought the Gearserker, and it will lead you straight to Tridentarius.

Defeating Tridentarius
There are multiple phases in this boss battle. In the first phase, Tridentarius will start chasing you in its mecha. You have to keep running away and avoiding its attacks.
Shortly after, you’ll notice that a glass tube comes out of one of the walls. You have to use the Boost attack on these glass tubes.

Once you’ve destroyed the glass tubes on both sides, the mecha will start to malfunction, and Tridentarius will start running away. Here, you have to keep following the boss until it trips over. Then, use a Boost attack on Tridentarius’ head.
This will start phase two. Here, Tridentarius will start to fly in her mecha, spewing fire towards you. As in the first phase, the glass tubes will periodically emerge from either side.

You have to use the Boost attack on both of the glass tubes, and once you’ve done that, Tridentarius will start running away from you.
Hit the boss again once it trips over, and that will start the third and final phase. The third phase is the easiest. You have to jump over several platforms to get to Tridentarius, while avoiding its rockets.

Once you reach the boss, Beebz will automatically defeat it, and you’ll get another talisman slot.
Now, you have to explore the rest of the Shiverbeaks to find and gather a total of 20 Golden Gears so you can head to the next area.
