Dimhaven The Lost Source Full Walkthrough – Part 1

Welcome to our Dimhaven The Lost Source full walkthrough.

In Part 1 of Dimhaven: The Lost Source walkthrough, Emily arrives on the mysterious island of Dimhaven and begins exploring the deserted arrival area. After solving a malfunctioning visa checkpoint by rewiring its answer buttons, she gains access to the island and starts uncovering clues about its strange history. Along the way, she collects the Photo Challenge Pamphlet, completes several photography objectives, retrieves useful items and money, unlocks the abandoned Visa Office, discovers notes and lore about the island, and obtains the key to Bay Tower. The chapter ends with Emily restoring some power to the area and using the newly found key to enter Bay Tower, setting up the next stage of her investigation.

After the intro cutscene, you (Emily) will have landed on the island. A bird will fly off with your passport, which you will need to recover later. In this landing zone/dock you will find a boat at the back that you can’t do anything with at the moment, there is a locked off area and stairs that lead into the sea.

Go back to the landing platform and go left towards the cutout of a woman. Press the button on the left on the booth to start the script. The script will ask you a couple questions but you can only answer with the left most button as the rest are broken.

The system will fritz out and reboot with a chilling message. Check underneath the console to see the wiring.

You can see that you can plug in the wire for button 1 to any of the three slots allowing you to get past this check successfully. For the first question “How was your flight?” slot the wire into the second socket and answer with “It was okay”. For the second question “Select the image with traffic lights!” plug the wire into the first socket and select the red traffic light. For the third question “Which one of these activities is encouraged on Dimhaven?” plug the wire into the third socket and answer with “Sightseeing”. The fourth question is “Select the picture featuring a date”, all the pictures are dates in some context. You can select any of them. The next question is a garbled mess that the cutout asks you. The correct answer is 7.7 +1.5i – it is marked “THIS ONE” by someone. Plug the wire into the second slot and press the button.

The follow up question is “Would you recommend our services to your friends and family?”. Change the socket to the first slot and answer with “Sure, it was great.” Now take the visa application ticket and go through the gate on the right. Before that, check your inventory as the game suggests. Look at the picture with Zack and the letter from him. Now insert your ticket at the gate, unlock the gate, and pick the ticket up from the lock again. In this area, you will see stairs going up on the left. Go up and check, but you can’t enter the office. Once you get back down, you will get a prompt to take your camera out and take a picture. You will also be shown how to check pictures you take. You can check the two posters on the notice board as well for a bit of lore. Follow the arrows to the Visa Office. Check the payphone here.

Photo Challenge Pamphlet

Go towards the Visa Office entrance and on the noticeboard to the right you will find the Photo Challenge Pamphlet.

Check the pamphlet for the list you need to complete.

Photo Challenge: A Beautiful Picture

For this, go back to the lifeguard’s office we were at earlier. Go to the far end of the walkway and look at the giant structure to the east. Take a picture of that to complete this challenge.

Go back to the Visa Office now and check the sign on the door.

Take a picture of this for later reference if you want to. Next, ring the bell on the counter. No one will answer, but to the left you will find the bird that took your passport. You can’t retrieve it right now.

Photo Challenge: Someone’s Dinner

If you look near the bottom of the bench, you will find an open, eaten-through can of beans.

Go back down to the back of the visa office.

Photo Challenge: A Horrible Selfie

You will see a broken mirror with a sticky note that says “sorry”.

There is a toolbox on the sink as well, but its upside down so the code is reversed. To unlock it the sequence is –

Inside you will find a note from Matilda. The key to the office is hidden under the mat at the office door. You will also find 100 Forints in the case.

Check the port-a-potty on the left – there are three and one is locked with a padlock – for a newspaper and some more lore about Dimhaven. Flipping it over you will see a number you can call.

Photo Challenge: Something Locked. From The Inside.

Lock the port-a-potty door from the inside and take a picture of the door.

Head back to the Visa Office and check under the mat for the key.

Use the key to unlock the office and step inside. Open the windows. You can check all the drawers on the desk but there isn’t anything of interest. Check the letter on the desk from Steve.

Check the noticeboard for City codes and the WC base Code: 3516

Next pick up 20 Forints from near the kettle. Check the wall calendar to see that pages are missing after March. Open the cupboard next to the calendar to find a key. This is the key to the Bay Tower.

Go back out to the port-a-potty/lavatory area and crouch through the small opening next to the lavatory locked with a padlock.

Photo Challenge: Captain’s Pipe

While crouching look to the left and up to find a pipe.

Through to the other side, you will find an empty petrol can. Pick it up and head back out. Once you are out you will find a generator that won’t start. Head to the bay tower. On your way back there, you will find a lever switch for power next to the visa office, pull it down. You will see a similar switch at the bay tower but its broken. Go up and open the door with the blue key you found earlier.

This concludes this part of the walkthrough.
