episode 5 and 6 featured Directive 8020.

This guide features the walkthrough of Episode 5, Mr. Williams, and Episode 6, Hostile Takeover, in Directive 8020, including all of the important choices and decisions.

Directive 8020 is a choice-based survival horror game developed and published by Supermassive Games. In the game, humanity sets out to find a new habitable planet as Earth is no longer suitable for human life. For more information, you can check out the game’s Steam page.

Since this is a choice-based game, you will constantly have to make important decisions throughout the story. Some of these choices can be difficult and may affect future events and characters. Episodes 1, 2, 3, and 4 have already been covered previously, so in this guide, we will walk you through the next two chapters.

Directive 8020 Walkthrough – Episode 5: Mr. Williams

Episode 5, Mr. Williams, starts in Directive 8020 with your very first task immediately underway.

You will have to run from Stafford as Eisele. Do remember that no vents or doors will open for you, so follow the path ahead carefully and make your way to the control room. As soon as you arrive there, a cutscene will commence. Once the scene ends, you will receive your next objective right afterward.

Use The Console

Simply head out of the area and interact with the console directly ahead of you. Upon doing so, another cutscene will begin. After the scene finishes, you will receive the objective of powering the burner.

Power The Burner

To power the burner, you will have to activate three switches. Head back and enter the power supply room. Then move forward and hide behind the nearby object to avoid getting caught by Stafford. Even if you do get caught, simply press the correct button prompt to stun him for a short while and escape safely.

Either way, the first switch will be directly ahead, so activate it and continue forward. The second switch will be nearby as well, so head over there and activate it too. Even if you do not want to use the stealth approach, that is perfectly fine. Activate the final switch and then head in the opposite direction afterward.

As you proceed, a cutscene will commence, and the objective of powering the burner will be completed. Right after that, you will return to the present timeline immediately after Cooper and Young shoot the monster that shapeshifted into Simms. Another cutscene will then begin, and afterward, you will start playing as Cooper.

Talk To Anders

Talk to Anders to proceed to episode 5, Mr. Williams in Directive 8020.

Simply head to where Anders went, and as soon as you enter the room, a cutscene will commence. After the conversation ends, she will ask you to retrieve a sedative for a test she wants to conduct.

Synthesize A Sedative

Head back into the room you were previously in and follow the objective marker. Interact with the terminal there. Once you have viewed the sequence, you will need to identify the correct chemical agents.

Find The Correct Chemical Agents

You can search around the room to discover the names of the chemical agents that you need. The correct agents were displayed on the terminal you viewed earlier, so now you only need to identify their names properly. There are several other panels throughout the room containing information about the agents, so make sure to inspect them carefully.

The correct agents are Dimethyl Sulfate, Chloroacetyl Chloride, and Ammonia. Therefore, the correct code is 168. Enter this code to synthesize the sedative Anders needs. Once you have it, head back to Anders and hand over the sedative to her. After that, you will have to choose between two dialogue options.

You can either consider what Anders is saying or doubt her entirely. I went with the consider option. Then, after a short conversation, you will once again have to choose between two different options. I selected the approve method because what Anders did seemed reasonable under the circumstances.

Afterward, you will receive two more dialogue choices. I chose the question option during this section.

Regroup With Anders

Head back into the room, and you will find Anders waiting there. Interact with her, and shortly afterward, Eisele will appear. Following a fairly long cutscene, you will be faced with another important choice. You can either save Mitchell or save Anders.

If you disabled the Landing Computer in the Episode 2, then choose the save Anders option. However, if you chose to disable Fire Control System, choose the save Mitchell option. By doing this you will be able to save both of the characters.

After the following cutscene, you will begin playing as Cernan, and your next objective will be to locate the rest of the crew.

Find The Rest Of The Crew

Follow the quest marker, and you will eventually reach the elevator. Once you arrive there, head inside and interact with the panel directly ahead. After that, another cutscene will commence, and when it finally ends, you will need to continue your search for the remaining crew members.

Continue following the quest marker once again, and as you approach the Crew Lounge, you will spot Cooper. However, the door will suddenly close as she enters. Interact with the door, and another cutscene will begin. You will then discover that Williams is in his office, completely safe and unharmed. At this point, you will receive two dialogue choices.

You can either ask how he managed to get there or directly tell him that he is dead. I personally went with the inquire option. Then, after another cutscene, you will have to make an important decision as Eisele. You can either volunteer to go with Stafford or suggest sending Cernan instead. I chose the volunteer option during this sequence.

With that, Episode 5, Mr. Williams, in Directive 8020, will come to an end.

Directive 8020 Walkthrough – Episode 6: Hostile Takeover

As Episode 6, Hostile Takeover, starts in Directive 8020, a cutscene will begin. During the cutscene, you will get to choose an option, but it will not be a turning point decision. You can choose any option you like, but I went with the sympathize option. Once the cutscene is over, you will be back in the present day.

Find a Power Cell

find a power in episode 6 Directive 8020

You will be playing as Stafford, and your objective will be to find a power cell so you can unlock the door. To do that, head inside the vent on the left side of the circuit and move through it. Ahead, you will find a control panel, so use it to monitor the area through the CCTV system.

The third camera will reveal the location of the power cell. From the control panel, head right and interact with the door. After that, you will receive a new objective.

Find a Way to Cross the Gap

Use the crane control to make your way ahead in Directive 8020, episode 6, hostile takeover.

You need to cross the gap in order to retrieve the power cell from inside. Head down the stairs, drop to the lower area, and go through the narrow passage on the right. Then head right again and continue straight until you find a terminal. Once you interact with the crane controls, you will learn that there is not enough power available.

What you need to do now is scan the area and follow the red wire. Simply head right from the terminal and then take another right to locate the console. Make sure the current is flowing in a straight line. Once you have done that, head back, but do not return to the terminal just yet.

From the console, move to the opposite side and face the crane. Then interact with it using the utility belt. After that, return to the console and redirect the current from the right side to power the crane operations console. Then, using the terminal, move the container to the right, then north, and finally to the left.

After that, cross the gap and pick up the Power Cell. Once you have done that, you will receive another objective.

Access Hydroponics

Head to Science Central by following the quest marker and continue moving forward. Then insert the power cell into the circuit and head inside Hydroponics. Keep going straight and interact with the door ahead to trigger a cutscene. When the cutscene ends, you will be playing as Eisele, and your objective will be to reach the ladder.

Get to the Ladder

You now have to reach the ladder without getting caught by the monster. Wait for the monster to move near the ladder, and after it shifts to the right side, that is your cue to start moving forward. Then head to the left side and wait for the monster to move to the area where you were previously hiding.

Once it moves there, quickly head toward the ladder area. Do not continue moving forward carelessly because another similar stealth section will begin shortly after. When that happens, head right and hide because the monster will be directly in front of you. You can use your utility belt to distract the monster, and once it is distracted, move past it and hide on the right side.

Then, when you notice the monster approaching from the opposite direction, use the scanner to track its location and head toward the ladder. However, the monster will suddenly emerge from the ground right in front of the ladder, so backtrack immediately and wait for it to move away. Once the monster starts patrolling toward the left side again, quickly run to the ladder and interact with it.

Should You Shoot Williams or Not

shoot or stand down episode 6 Directive 8020

After that, you will have to make an important decision as Stafford. You must choose whether to shoot Williams or stand down. Based on the information currently available, it seems that he really is Williams because Landers gave him a sedative, and he was unconscious in the office afterward. Because of that, it is highly likely that he is telling the truth. That is why choosing to stand down feels like the better option here.

Williams will then ask who gave him the drug, and Landers will confess. After that, as Stafford, you will need to decide whether to side with Williams or give Landers a chance to prove herself. I chose the defend option.

As everyone goes through the scanner, another Eisele suddenly appears when it is Eisele’s turn. You will then have to make another choice. You can either test them or order both of them to go through the scanner. The second option feels much riskier since the rest of the crew is nearby, so I chose the former option instead.

After that, you will have to shoot one of them. The newcomer is actually the real Eisele, so shoot the one on the left. Once the cutscene ends, you will begin playing as Young.

Speak With Stafford

You now need to speak with Stafford, although you can also talk to the rest of the crew first if you want. To find Stafford, head up the stairs and enter the cockpit. There, you will have to choose between two dialogue options. I went with the Inspire option.

Then, after another cutscene, you will once again play as Stafford and face another important choice.

I selected the Hope option, which sends out a distress call. With that decision, Episode 6, Hostile Takeover, in Directive 8020 comes to an end.
