Welcome to Discounty. Your aunt’s handed you the keys to her discount supermarket, and now it’s your job to keep the shelves stocked, the customers happy, and maybe make a bit of money along the way. You’ll be arranging displays, cutting deals, and getting to know the locals — each with their quirks and opinions about your store.
In this walkthrough, we cover all the interactions, quests, and side quests needed to complete the story of Discounty. In this part of the walkthrough, we cover Day 16 and 17, we find Ruffles for Karl, complete the trade deal with Tammy, finish our streak of high CAR and install the scanner.

Day 16
Check the newspaper at your doorstep and see that the Ragged Forest has now been opened for access.
Task: Ramifications
If you visit the Ragged Forest now and head north to Solruna’s lab you will find Ruffles, Karl’s lost sheep. Inspecting him will return him to Karl – go talk to him later about it.
Task: A Factory Enshrouded
In the middle of the map you will find Tammy and her factory. Speak to Tammy.
Once you ask her about the trade deal, she will give you her newest product, Flouride Toothpaste. This will complete the Task: A Factory Enshrouded. This will also update the Goal: Operating as a Real Supermarket. Pick up the sample toothpaste and buy more stock. Tammy restocks every Sunday.
Head back to the store, its time to open the shop.
Goal: Known as a Real Supermarket
Today should be the last day where you need maintain a CAR-rating over 50%. So make sure most people leave the store happy.
If you do succeed in keeping the rating about 50%, speak to Derek about it.
Tip: Before leaving the store I upgraded the till with a Scanner from the Discounty Rewards section.
How to use the scanner:
You have to identify the kind of product that is coming through the till and rotate the barcode accordingly, so the machine can scan the product. On the item, one side will be glowing – make sure that side is facing the scanner.
Go to the bank and speak to Derek. Tell him that you are now known as a real supermarket. This should conclude the Goal: Known as a Real Supermarket.
Task: Ramifications (Continued)
Go talk to Karl about his sheep that we found earlier in the forest. Once he tells you how special Ruffles is he will ask for your help with the culling of the sheep. If you help him he will let you sell their famous roast at the store.
If you choose not to help with the culling you will be given the option to ask Hilda, who has always helped with the culling – why she stopped. I refused and went to talk to Hilda about it.
She will propose you mark Ruffles along with the other sheep to teach Karl a lesson about his hypocrisy. Go back and speak to Karl now. The task will update to mark all sheep, including Ruffles. Go to the barn and mark all the sheep. Once they are marked come back tomorrow.
Goal: Operating as Real Supermarket (continued) and Task: Man Overboard
Head to the harbor now to speak to Fisher. Once you get there, you will see Fisher is missing and his boat is a mess. He is not at home either, you have to speak to Karl or Hilda about his whereabouts. Head to the bar and talk to Hilda.
Head to the Klintmoor farm and speak to Karl now. He will tell you that you need to knock on Fisher’s door three times or else he wont answer. Head back to the harbor now. Knock on Fisher’s door three times. Once it opens, speak to Fisher. You need to leave him alone for now. Go back to midtown and you will run into half the town, running an intervention on Fisher. Your task will be clean Fisher’s Boat.
End the day as it is getting close to bed time.
Day 17
Task: Man Overboard (continued)
Head to the harbor first thing in the morning and clean Fisher’s boat. You need to clean 8 spots but you also need to keep it clean till he is back on his feet.
Also note that you can’t buy Boney Herring from Fisher during this time.
Tip: Before heading to the store, stop by the Town Hall and upgrade the printer if you have the shills. Posters will be printed much quicker now.
Head to the store- check the challenges once you get there and keep an eye out for Gina for the Task: The Old Staircase.
Task: Ramifications and Goal: Operating as a Real Supermarket
Once the shift ends go talk to Karl.
This will open up Tier 2 of trade with Karl and complete the Task: Ramifications.
You should have made progress on the Goal: Operating as a Real Supermarket as well.
Tip: You need the sheep’s cheese to feed the rats at the recycling center.
Refresh the posters around town and then end the night.
