Welcome to Discounty. Your aunt’s handed you the keys to her discount supermarket, and now it’s your job to keep the shelves stocked, the customers happy, and maybe make a bit of money along the way. You’ll be arranging displays, cutting deals, and getting to know the locals — each with their quirks and opinions about your store.
In this walkthrough we cover all the interactions, quests and side quests needed to complete the story of Discounty. In this part of the walkthrough we cover day 3 and 4 we learn how to use Discounty reward points and how to deal with the marketing report.

Day 4
Task: Way back home (continued)
As day 4 starts, go and check the status of the tree blocking the path to the farm. Once you get there you will see the tree has been removed, so run off to the farm to talk to Karl. He is north past the silos at his homestead.

This will complete the task “Way back home” and get you the trade deal. He sells Rolled Oats. Again, the challenge is to sell 15 of these to get perk points. You can buy 2 boxes at a time. Oats are restocked every Friday.

Pick up the Oats and head back to the store.
Tip: Head to the hardware store to get some shelves as well.
You might meet Derek Lapley, director of the bank on your way. As the bank has now opened due to the roadblock being removed.

You can pick up the poster at the town hall printer as well and que up some more. If you do you will run into Elmer who will complain about a delinquent kid, Chester. You can find him either at the farm or near the bar, which is where you can also put up the poster you have on you.

Task: Settling in (continued)
Once you get to the store, Grace will introduce you to the Discounty Rewards Program.

The more challenges you complete the more points you get. You can redeem points for various things like new items for the store or upgrades. There are 2 daily challenges and 1 weekly challenge. You can reject a challenge to get a new one – but that’s only for 1 challenge a day. Once you complete a challenge, redeeming it gets you a new challenge.
Task: The Fishy Fisherman
Check you stock and shelves and open the store. Our goal is to sell Fishy Sticks, Fishmas Sticks and Rolled Oats. The priority item to sell is the Fishmas Sticks for the trade deal.
Tip: You can remove any items and just push your goal items if you want to optimize the game.

Finish the shift. I almost sold all the required Fishmas Sticks. So close.
Tip: Product boosters (seafood, produce, drinks etc) are essential to move products that you are targeting.
I then added the empty cold boxes to the recycle bin and ordered 5 crates to complete the daily challenges. My other challenge was to sell 5 Fishy Sticks. With 2 points in my hand, I decided to save up for the Extra Pocket upgrade.

End the shift and go exploring. At the very north of the farm is a mine. Interesting, I wonder if that’s a reference.

Once you are done exploring, go to bed
Day 5
Check the news paper and head out.
Task: The Fishy Fisherman (continued)
The goal is to sell 10 Fishmas Sticks to complete the trade deal. I needed to sell 4 more. Head out for work. I put up some posters as the old ones were starting to fade.
Task: Settling In (Continued)
Once you enter the store Grace will tell you about cleaning the store. Take the bucket and clean the dirty spots.

Remember to return the sponge to the bucket once you are done. Load up inventory on your toolbelt and start the shift.
Once you are done with the shift you will see the Marketing tab on the PDA. It will rate your performance and provide bonus shills (gold). The update is for the week.
Tip: Keep your CAR high to get more customers.

I didn’t meet the daily challenge today. Anyway, head out to talk to Barbara to complete “The Fishy Fisherman”. Head to the harbor to talk to Barbara. Tell her about the completion of her task.
Tip: If you have sold enough Fishy Sticks you can get a perk point. I used it to unlock the 25% discount.

Next, speak to Fisher, and it will complete “The Fishy Fisherman.” Additionally it will complete the “Shop Locally” goal.
The trade deal will be for Boney Herring. The challenge again, is to sell 15 of these. You can buy 2 crates everytime and it restocks Wednesdays.
Goal: Shopping Locally (continued)
Go to Aunt Tellar’s house and inform her that you have completed 3 trade deals. Once you see her, she will provide you with a plastic bag and now you can pick up litter and drop it off at the recycling center for some extra cash. Tell her about the completion of three trade deals.

Now we have to wait till tomorrow before she will tell us the next steps. Head to the store and set up the display for the Boney Herring for tomorrow.

Tip: Two Seafood boosters are pretty helpful as there are multiple seafood produce at the early stages of the game.
Explore the town now – there might be a Blue Calcite for sale at Antique Antiques.

Not much is happening in town so go to bed.
This concludes this part of the walkthrough for Discounty.
