Join us at Into Indie Games as we make our way through the Prologue of Divinum.
Today, we begin our journey through Divinum, taking on the role of Fjor as her story begins.
With a mysterious world waiting for you to explore and plenty of challenges standing in her way, it’s time to see where Fjor’s journey takes her.

Hearthvale Village

The story starts with the protagonist, Fjor, speaking to one of her friends, Yarken. Their conversation is about some strange monsters that are spreading, and he suspects they are being controlled by someone.

Fjor, the guardian she is, wastes no time and decides to go and investigate. In the village, Hearthvale, you can speak to other villagers if you want.
Whenever you’re ready, head to the right to exit the village and enter the Wardenwood area.
Explore Wardenwood

In this area, you will learn the basics and mechanics of the game, so it will be simple to go through.
The path is straightforward to the right, and you will get tutorials on how to perform multiple attacks, jump, platform guard, parry, and so on.

At the end of this path, you will need to touch a wall and slide down carefully without getting hit by the thorns. At the bottom, the ground will break, and you will fall down if you don’t jump.

Either way, it’s fine. If you made the jump, because we did at first, you can just continue right and head up out of the underground. If you fell, you will find an enemy blocking your way, and here you will get a dodge tutorial.

In this game, when you dodge, you can pass through enemies instead of getting damaged when you touch them.
This will be a huge advantage that you need to keep in mind, especially coming from Hollow Knight or the likes of it, when touching an enemy causes you to take damage.

Back to the surface, keep going right and fight the enemies along the way until you enter the cave.
Go inside and follow the path to the right until you find an obelisk. This will glow and teleport Fjor to a strange location.

Fjor will have new powers and abilities here, and she will be attacked by a lot of enemies. You need to keep progressing right and defeat all the enemies along the way.

At the end of this, Fjor will go back to her world, and she will be confused. She has no idea what she experienced, but there is no time to waste; she has to find whoever is stirring the undead.
Keep heading right toward the obelisk. On the way, you will see a crystal. When you hit it, it will drop small chunks that you can pick up. This is Sanctite, the main currency of the game, and you will need it to get skills.

Of course, the enemies you defeat drop Sanctite as well, but whenever you find these crystals, you want to destroy them. The bigger they are, the more Sanctite you get.

Eventually, you will exit the cave and get back to the woods. Here, keep going right through the woods. The path is straightforward, so just defeat the enemies along the way and do some basic platforming.
You will reach a torch stand with a green flame, which will trigger a combat encounter. You will be limited to the area ahead, and you need to defeat all the enemies to clear the way forward.

Once this encounter is complete, continue to the right and you will encounter the witch who is responsible for the undead behavior. Fjor needs to defeat her.
Defeat Klyssa The Deathspeaker

Klyssa is a tutorial boss, so she is relatively easy to defeat. She will constantly transform into a green flame and teleport around the arena before firing two green magic orbs from each side.
These orbs are easy to track, so you can avoid them without much trouble.

After teleporting, she will raise her staff and thrust it forward, firing two more orbs. You can easily dodge to the opposite side to avoid the attack, giving you a good opportunity to land some hits while she recovers.
When you see Klyssa blinking, this is the sign that she is staggered, so you need to throw everything at her during this opening.

Once you take a third of her health, Klyssa will add a new attack. She will move her staff to the side, briefly charge it, and then launch a large orb directly at you.
Dodge as soon as she begins charging the attack, then move in and land some hits while she recovers.

Halfway through the fight, Klyssa will disappear and summon multiple enemies. You must progress to the right and defeat all these enemies until you encounter her again.
During this second encounter, Klyssa’s first attack will be a new one. Klyssa channels her staff, and several vertical green indicator lines will appear across the arena.

Quickly step into the safe gaps between these lines before they erupt into damaging pillars of green flame as they rise and then fall again to the ground.
If you manage to position yourself right when Klyssa is standing, since you can’t take damage from touching enemies, you can get a huge opening of attacks since this attack takes time.

The rest of the fight is still the same: dodge her attacks to the other side and land a few hits. When you need healing, make sure to back up and watch out for the orbs she throws at you.
Head Back To Hearthvale

After you defeat Klyssa, she will drop the Mysterious Amulet. Go to the edge, and Fjor will spot ships coming to her village. She will then run back.

To her surprise, Fjor will find the buildings burned and imperial soldiers waiting, and she will be surrounded. One of the guards will push her to the ground.

The next scene shows Executor Faust speaking to his lord and informing him that their operation is going smoothly. We have no idea what their plan is, but for now, we need to figure out where Fjor is.
And with that, we wrap up another walkthrough for Divinum. Thanks for checking it out!
