Divinum – Slumbering Depths Walkthrough

Join us at Into Indie Games as we make our way through the Slumbering Depths area of Divinum.

The Imperial soldiers have attacked Hearthvale Village, capturing all of its villagers in the process. By the time Fjor arrives, she finds her home burning and the village completely deserted, with only the soldiers remaining behind.

Fjor tries to stand her ground and fight back, but she is quickly captured and locked away in the dungeon alongside the rest of the villagers.

This is part of our Divinum – Walkthrough Hub, so if you want more content about the game, be sure to check it out.

Escape The Dungeon

Fjor was taken to the dungeon alongside the rest of the villagers. Just when she awakens, she finds herself in a cell next to Yarken. During their conversation, you will learn that they were after the ancestral shrines.

And since they refused to show them the way, this led to them being captured, as they stood no chance against the imperial army.

Yarken managed to snatch a key from a guard, but it doesn’t unlock his cell. He throws the key to Fjor, and luckily for us, it unlocks her cell.

Fjor, however, has no weapon, no nothing, but she promised that she will find a way to rescue them. After you get out, you can still talk to Yarken and tell him about the summoner that you found.

Now follow the way to the right, and you will encounter your villagers inside the cells, but for now, there is nothing to do.

Drop down, then go left, and the floor will collapse, dropping Fjor down. Keep going right until you exit the dungeon.

As you enter this area, go right until you reach a dead end. The imperial soldiers, alongside Faust, will catch up to you and put Fjor down.

Obtain Your New Weapon

At this moment, the statue in the room will begin to glow before breaking apart and shooting flames toward the ground. Fjor will take a long fall, with the flames following her as she descends.

Just before she reaches the ground, the flames will catch up to her and merge into her body, saving her from the fall.

Fjor wakes up in a dejected mood, feeling like she has failed in her duty as a guardian to protect these shrines. During this somber moment, she will stand up and figure out where she landed.

Go right and interact with the runes that you see. Then continue to the right, go up, and head right again. You will see the same runes from before, so interact with them once more.

This will unlock the way ahead. Fjor needs to continue right until the floor collapses, and down there, you will find the set of runes one more time.

Interact with the runes, and just when two enemies try to attack you, the runes will shoot flames at them and then disappear. From here, continue your way to the right.

You will see a flame sword here. Take it, and this will be your new weapon for this journey. It has the same movement as your regular sword, and it comes with a skill called Incinerate, which lets you shoot a flame orb.

Restore Your First Glyph

Now that Fjor is back on her feet, continue your way to the right and get used to your new weapon. You will reach a glyph that you can restore using the medallion you picked up.

This glyph acts as your regular bonfire, where you can rest, unlock new abilities and skills, and change runes as well. Feel free to explore the options here.

For now, you don’t have any Hero’s Sacrament to unlock any Mastery, but when you start collecting them, we highly recommend you pick up Dash: Quick Recovery as soon as possible because you will need it the most, and then Glyph Link later on when you have it available to unlock.

For skills, you only have Incinerate and Heal, and you haven’t found any rune yet.

When you’re done exploring the glyph, go right and you will find the runes once again. The message mentions finding Brother Arendith in the catacombs as this is his final will before passing out.

Disclaimer
Given this is our first time playing the game, chances are we might have missed something along the way. So, all our findings are based solely on what we encountered during our run.

Go right and go through the cave. You will see a wall with blue lines in it. This means it’s breakable, so attack it to destroy the wall.

Moving along, you will find a gap with metal thorns at the bottom, but there is another wall on the other side.

Use your weapon ability, Incinerate, to shoot the fire orb and destroy the wall. This will drop a platform for you to cross. Keep going right until you see the platforms that will help you reach the upper floor.

Grab The Salvation Rune

Before you do so, to the right, you will find a small edge where you can stand. Attack the wall to uncover a hidden location with your very own rune. Keep in mind, there are many hidden areas like this in the game.

Go all the way up and then right to reach the next room. Here, drop down, then go left to discover a hidden area where you will find a chunk of Sanctite.

Move to the right, attack the breakable wall, and follow the way down, then right until you find another Glyph. Restore it, and be sure to equip the rune that you just got.

Grab The Hatred Rune

From the Glyph, there are two paths, but you want to jump up where you will find another crystal. From here, hold jump to reveal a whole new area.

Work your way to the top and then go right, and you will spot another rune waiting for you, but it is guarded by a powerful enemy.

You can cheese this fight by going back to the previous platform and waiting for your mana to recharge. Use this opportunity to heal or use Incinerate, then return to the fight.

When your health gets low, retreat to the previous platform again and repeat the process until you defeat the enemy. When you defeat the enemy, destroy the barrier and pick up your new rune.

Locate The Cursed Seal

Go back to the Glyph and pick whether you want to keep the Salvation or equip the new one. We recommend keeping the Salvation so it can extend your survivability, especially since you’re still getting used to the combat.

Moving along, drop down all the way to the bottom and go left. You will spot a platform taking you up. Follow it to unlock a shortcut back to the Glyph.

But we’re not done yet. Head back down and go to the left, where you will find a large sword thrust into the ground. Interacting with it will bring up a list of challenges.

Throughout the game, you will find multiple of these called Cursed Seals. Each one has three challenges, with the difficulty increasing as you progress from one challenge to the next.

The rewards are usually worth it, as they start with Sanctite and can later reward you with Runes, Life Orb Shards, Manastone Shards, and even Hero’s Sacraments.

The good part is that you might struggle to finish Challenge Two or Three, but there is no need to worry, as you can always come back and attempt these challenges again when you are more powerful.

The Cursed Seal challenge is simply about defeating waves of enemies. There is no time limit or anything else to worry about, just survive and defeat everyone.

This first Cursed Seal is easy, and we managed to get all three, but give it an attempt and see how you do. Just don’t waste too much time trying to complete it if you are struggling because you can go back to it anytime.

On To The Next Glyph

From the Cursed Seal, go left and jump to the other side, where you will find a hidden area that has a big chunk of Sanctite. Now drop down and go right, and you will reach an area where the floor collapses.

At the bottom, go all the way to the right and drop down where you can see the Glyph. Restore it. From here, there are multiple ways that you can explore, and we’ll go over them.

Find The Trader Trok

From the Glyph, drop down and go to the left. You will reach a combat encounter, so complete it. After that’s done, keep going left to the next room.

Here, you will find what looks like an enemy, and just when Fjor tries to raise her weapon, he assures her that he is only here to trade and get some Sanctite.

This is your first trader, and he will have a lot of goodies to buy. The table below showcases a list of all his wares.

NamePrice
Life Orb Shard300
Manastone Shard200
Hero Sacrament100
Rune Slot720
Aegis Rune200
Focus Rune250
Might Rune400

Now you probably don’t have that much Sanctite to buy a lot of things, but if you happen to have 720, we highly recommend buying the Rune Slot first. This will allow you to equip a second rune to Fjor.

Alternatively, another easy recommendation is to grab the first three items: Life Orb Shard, Manastone Shard, and the Hero Sacrament.

After this first interaction, Trok will move to the nearby Glyph and be at his new location. His wares don’t update, and you will be able to see his icon on the map.

Unlock Wall Climb

Moving on, move to the left and past Trok. You will notice an enemy shooting the breakable ground. Drop down here, but be careful, as two enemies from each side will be waiting for you.

Go left and keep working your way down, and then take the left passage again until you spot a Glyph. Restore it, and then continue following the way to the left.

Shortly after, an enemy will break the wall and come your way. Fjor needs to defeat it, but be careful, as it has more HP than the regular enemies.

The only annoying attack is when it charges at you, and you need to time the dodge. You can also try to parry its attack if you’re comfortable with it, but dodging should do the trick.

After you defeat it, go left and let the floor collapse, then drop down. There, you will see a Glyph with a different symbol. Touch it to unlock Wall Climb.

Just as the name suggests, Wall Climb helps Fjor climb and jump off walls according to the movement direction. This means you will be able to reach new areas you couldn’t reach before.

This is also another reason why we prioritize getting Wall Climb first before exploring and encountering dead ends.

Grab The Manastone Shard

Now, to get out of here, you will need to rely on your new ability. So go left and use Wall Climb to reach the top.

You will see a breakable wall to the right. Use Wall Climb to detour and reach it, attack it to destroy it, and go on.

Jump across and climb up where you spot the Sanctite crystal. Attack the wall on the ceiling to unlock a shortcut.

Climb up using your ability and follow the way to the right until you encounter two enemies waiting for you. Defeat them and then climb up again to unlock another shortcut by attacking the breakable wall.

Go right and then drop down until you see a glowing blue object. This is a Manastone Shard, and you need to find two of them to increase your maximum mana. Here is a map showing the location.

Grab The Life Orb Shard

After you collect the shard, jump across and climb up. Attack the wall and go left until you spot a platform above you. Earlier, you couldn’t reach it, but now you can using Wall Climb.

Head to the top and then follow the way to the right until you find a gap. Jump to the other side by holding the jump button, and then when you see the metal thorns, climb up and move on to the next room.

Here, you will find your very first Life Orb Shard, so be sure to pick it up. There is a breakable wall that you can attack to unlock the shortcut back to where the Cursed Seal was.

Grab The Hero Sacrament

From here, backtrack to the Glyph with the multiple paths. If you have the Glyph Link ability, then fast travel to it. You will spot Trok has already moved to his new location.

Drop all the way down, but be careful of the metal thorns, and then go right. You will find a Hero Sacrament.

Locate The Trial Of Aspiration

Now that we have Wall Climb, there is a room that you can access now. Fast travel or backtrack all the way to the top-left Glyph, the first one in this area, and go right to the next room.

Keep going right and climb up where you find the platforms. You need to make your way to the top platform. At the top left, you will see a wall that you can climb to it.

Platform all the way here until you spot two arrows thrust into a rune. This is the Trial of Aspiration, and just like the Cursed Seal, you will have three challenges to complete for rewards.

This time, however, you don’t need to defeat enemies. Instead, you need to collect Warden Marks along the way and complete the objective. This is only the case for the first challenge, Search.

Both Pursuit and Breakthrough are time trials where you still need to collect the Warden Marks.

But the path will have new obstacles, and the time limit will become shorter with each challenge. Breakthrough gives you even less time than Pursuit.

These are some of the most annoying challenges you will have to complete in this game.

Search is easy since there is no time limit, but Pursuit can be frustrating, while Breakthrough basically requires you to perform a perfect run to complete it.

You will need to memorize the route and perform every jump perfectly while avoiding every obstacle along the way.

If you get hit by an obstacle or mess up a jump, it’s usually better to open the challenge menu, abandon the challenge, and restart rather than trying to recover because 99% of the time, you will not make it.

Just like the Cursed Seal, you don’t have to complete these challenges right away. They will remain available, so you can always come back and attempt them whenever you have the time and patience to go through them.

The rewards are worth the trouble, as you can earn Runes, Life Orb Shards, Manastone Shards, and even Hero’s Sacraments.

Progress To The Next Area

Now that we’ve collected most of the things in the Slumbering Depths, we can move on to the next area.

Go back to the Glyph where Trok is, jump across to the first right entrance, and follow the way to reach the new area.

And with that, we wrap up another walkthrough for Divinum. Thanks for checking it out!
