Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined features an interesting journey where you start on an isolated island in the middle of the endless ocean. The residents here firmly believe that there’s no other piece of land out there, and it’s just endless waters. However, some ambitious friends here have different ideas. Close Friends
As the story begins, you’ll be playing the role of a fisherman’s son, who’s also a close friend of Prince Kiefer of the Estard Kingdom and the local Mayor’s daughter, Maribel.
In the intro cutscene, you’ll be escaping your secret base with Prince Kiefer, where you had been working on a secret project. However, just as you’re leaving, you’re caught by Maribel, who suspects that you’re up to no good.

She’ll shortly leave, allowing you to return home to your mother. Apparently, tomorrow is the day of the Pilchard Harvest, a day that only comes once a year.
As you enter your house, you’ll find your parents asleep. Head upstairs, and here you’ll find a chest with a set of Wayfarer’s Clothes. Interact with the bed to fall asleep.

The Day Of The Pilchard Harvest
In the morning, Pearl will wake you up. Mother Pearl informs you that your father has already made it to the jetty with the mayor, and you have to come downstairs right away.
Then, she’ll give you a Pilchard Sandwich, asking you to deliver it to your father at the jetty. You can then head out of the house and look for the jetty.

Go towards the east after exiting your home, and you’ll find the jetty. As you arrive, you’ll notice your father Pollock arguing with the Mayor regarding the location for the harvest.
Once he notices you, you’ll be able to hand him the sandwich. He’ll then ask you to go downstairs and do a cleanup. There’s a staircase leading to the lower deck on the ship.

Here, you’ll find Mirable hiding behind a few breakable objects. There’s also a chest here with 50 gold coins. Once you find Maribel, she’ll be mad that she isn’t allowed to go with the adults on the harvest and will leave the ship.
You can then return to the upper deck to your father, who’ll reveal that the ship is about to sail and asks you to go back to your home and look after your mother, Pearl.

Invitation From The King
As you’re heading back to your home from the docks, you’ll encounter a soldier. The soldier brings an invitation from Kiefer’s father, the King of the Estard Kingdom.
Maribel seems to have heard of the invitation and asks to join you on your journey to Estard. The city lies to the north-west of Pilchard Bay.

Once you arrive in Estard, Maribel will part ways with you. You’ll have to head straight to the castle, which is a little deeper into the city.

Kiefer’s Plan
After arriving in the castle, Kiefer will soon approach you. Kiefer clarifies that the adults believe that this is the only island in the world, surrounded by endless ocean, and they had been repairing an old ship in the secret cave back at Pilchard Bay with you to set sail one day.
However, Kiefer has also been looking for other ways to prove that there’s an entire world outside of the island, and that’s why he had been searching through the castle archives. The prince has managed to find a piece of what appears to be a fragment of a stone tablet.

Kiefer has also found an ancient tome, and he is about to set off towards the eastern mountains, a place that has been off-limits to the island’s residents.
However, Kiefer wants you to keep his father occupied for as long as possible so he doesn’t notice the prince’s disappearance, and asks you to join him once you’re done.

King’s Worries
The king is on the second floor of the castle. Just keep going up the stairs in the middle of the castle, and you’ll find him. He’d be talking about Kiefer and is worried that he has gone missing again. However, he calms down after seeing that you have arrived.
King Donald sits you down on the throne and says that he’s going to ask something important. He asks if you’re hiding something from him. I chose to decline it.

The king then goes on to talk about how Prince Kiefer has been acting strangely, and he has also stolen his late mother’s precious ring.
He then asks you to talk some sense into the prince and watch out for him. You’ll then be free to leave the castle.

The Mysterious Statue
Once you leave the castle, head out of Estard city and go towards the east on the island. You’ll find a shrine here. Kiefer is standing next to a statue in here. There’s also a locked gate in the area.
As you talk with Kiefer, he’ll give you the ancient tome and say that the image of the person in the tome matches the statue.

Kiefer tries many different things to get a response from the statue. He presents a Sizzling Stone that he got from Pike, your uncle, the ring he stole from his father, as well as the fragment of the stone tablet.
However, the statue doesn’t give a response. After giving up, you and Kiefer will have to leave the area, but as you’re leaving, you’ll hear a voice.

The voice says that you’re lacking and only the chosen ones can enter the area. The voice then says that you have to find the three remaining fragments of the stone tablet. The statue also ensures that all the remaining fragments are currently present on the island.

Search For The Yellow Stone Fragments
Since you already have one, you need three more to form a complete tablet. You’ll immediately get lots of hints. You can ask the people in Estard City, or the hermit who lives on a cliff. Kiefer also suggests asking your father Pollock if he has seen anything like a stone fragment on his voyages to the sea.

The Infamous Uncle Pike
Return to Estard City and talk to the people. They’re all talking about Pike and how he’s short on rent. Kiefer suggests heading to the Tavern to search for more clues. The Tavern is in the north-east part of the city. Here, you’ll find Uncle Pike.
Uncle Pike explains his miserable situation to you, but Kiefer suggests that looking for the stone fragment is more important. However, Pike seems to have seen this stone fragment once. But he’s not going to help you for free.

Pike asks you to find 3 glass bottles in the city, and then meet him at the Rainbow Cove. Leave the tavern, and you can find the very first glass bottle next to the tavern’s exit. It will be represented by a golden sparkle on the ground.
The second bottle is next to the entrance to the church building in the city, while the third and final bottle is next to the city’s entrance. Once you’ve got three bottles, you can head to the Rainbow Cove, which is in the northern part of the island.

Once you’ve arrived at the cove, go deeper until you find water. Here, you’ll have to talk to Uncle Pike, who’ll ask you to fill up the glass bottles with water. Interact with the body of water to fill up the bottles.
Then, Uncle Pike will reveal a hidden area in the cove where you can find the stone fragment. There’s a short puzzle you have to solve. Just push the stone pillars through the holes, and that will drain the water in front of the gate, allowing you to enter the room with the stone fragment.

Once you’ve acquired the second yellow fragment, Uncle Pike will come rushing over, asking you to hand over what you’ve just found. However, while looking through your things, he’ll find the Sizzling Egg and leave. You will then have to find the remaining fragments.

Dermot The Hermit
If you talk to Kiefer, he’ll ask you to go and see Dermot to check if he knows anything about the stone fragments. Dermot lives on a cliff, isolated from the rest of the city.
To get to him, you’ll have to go through the stairs next to the church in Estard. You’ll find an orange icon with an exclamation mark on top of it.

The path will lead you to a house on a cliff, and here you’ll find Dermot downstairs. If you talk to him, he’ll immediately notice your ancient tome and ask if you’ve found a stone tablet with it.
Dermot then inquires more about your journey so far, as well as the strange voice near the statue. It appears that he has also heard the same voice.

Dermot is quite stubborn, but after a little convincing talk from you and the prince, he’ll hand over a key. This key can unlock one of the locked doors that you encountered in the tunnel while heading to Dermot’s house.
Here, you’ll find a puzzle. There are two pillars here. Each pillar has a different shape and size. You have to place them both in such a way that their shadow forms the shape of the slime in the back. Once you’ve placed the pillars in the right position, head up to the altar to stand on it to complete the shadow.

Once you’ve done that, the door will open, and you’ll find the third stone fragment. However, just as you approach the fragment, you’ll hear a voice, and some enemies will appear in front of you. This will be your first battle, but you can just keep attacking the enemies, and you’ll certainly come out victorious.
After that, pick up the stone fragment. You still have to find one stone fragment before you’re able to complete the statue’s puzzle.

Pollock’s Haul
For the last stone fragment, you have to go back to the Pilchard Bay and talk to your father. He’ll be inside your home.
As you talk to him, he’ll reveal that he had a massive harvest this year and he’s super happy about it. He’ll also reveal that he found a strange stone fragment alongside the fish.

He then asks you to take the fragment to the castle to have the scholars take a look at it, which is obviously not your and Kiefer’s plan.
Once you’ve acquired the final fragment, it’s time to head back to the strange statue in the Shrine of Mysteries to the east of the island.

The Door Of Destiny
You and Kiefer then present the stone fragments to the statue. The voice then answers your call once again, and the fragments start to glow. The statue turns around, shooting a magic ray towards the locked gate, unlocking it.
Just as you’re about to pass throughthe Door of Destiny, Mirable will appear and ask to join in. Maribel then forcibly joins your party, and then you’ll have to head straight through the shrine.

Here, you’ll find a strange being that looks something like a fly. There are many colored pedestals in the area. The being introduces itself as the caretaker of the shrine, and also reveals that it had been communicating with you through the statue so far.
The Caretaker will then ask you to place the fragments you’ve acquired on a relevant pedestal. You have to head over to one of the yellow pedestals and place each fragment here. Once you’ve placed all four fragments, you’ll be teleported to an unknown place, starting a new adventure.
