Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined has you traveling centuries into the past to islands that have long disappeared from the present-day ocean due to the Demon King. You’ll have to get there and get rid of whatever is causing the problems on those islands, but doing that can be quite a challenge in some cases. The Foggy Village Of Vogograd
As you arrive in Vogograd, you’ll have to talk to the villager in front of the gate. He immediately asks you to go south from the village and rescue a man who had gone there just a while ago and might have been attacked by monsters.
Exit the village and head south. There’s a small forest here, and you’ll find the missing man here. However, he is being attacked by a group of monsters.

After witnessing that you’re capable of defeating monsters, the man is overjoyed and returns to the village to tell everyone about your efforts. He asks you to talk to the Elder in the village once you return.
Return to Vogograd and make your way to the elder’s house. As you enter the house, you’ll find that the man you rescued is telling the mayor that you have the capability to defeat a certain individual.

The Monster In The Church
The elder tells you about a monster that has been inhabiting the local church. He doesn’t harm anyone, but since it’s a monster, they want to get rid of it; none of the villagers are capable fighters.
As you approach the church in the town to check it out, you’ll find a little boy here. The little boy is mad at the monster for killing his parents, but the monster doesn’t do anything; it can’t speak and doesn’t harm the boy.

You’ll then have to find the boy in his house. He’s mad at the monster, but also curious. He doesn’t think the monster is evil.
However, you’ll have to return to the elder’s house, where he has gathered all the villagers to enact a plan to get rid of the monster in the church.

The Plan
This boy, Luka, asks you to talk to him in private. Once you’re in the room with him, he’ll tell you that this monster inside the church is different from regular monsters. However, the villagers are bent on getting rid of him.
After the meeting, you’ll have to talk to the elder, and he’ll ask if you’re ready or not. If you say you’re ready, it will be nighttime and you’ll have to head to the church where the villagers will have surrounded the monster.

They want you to help them defeat the monster, but since the monster isn’t fighting back, you refuse to step in. However, the villagers turn on you, thinking that you’re traitors.
They’ll knock you and Luka unconscious, throwing you to the backside of the village. From here, you have to find a way back into the village.

Mount Gora
Head to Mount Gora, and here you’ll have to make your way to the top. You’ll have to utilize the planks on the outside of the mountain, as well as the caves connecting from one end to the other, to make it to the summit.
Once you’re at the top, you’ll find the local human priest, as well as a group of monsters that are causing the fog. As you talk to this priest, he’ll tell you about a man who sacrificed his humanity to make a pact with the monsters.

He says that the original priest made a pact with him that as long as he lives in the village, the monsters will not harm the village or the villagers. But now, the villagers themselves want to get rid of the priest who has been made to look like a monster by him.
The human priest in front of you will then reveal his true form, Gasputin, as you get ready for battle.

Gasputin
Gasputin is weak to Earth and Ice magic, and resistant to Wind magic. Have Maribel and Aishe cast Kacrack repeatedly to bring down its HP.
Once Gasputin becomes fired up and starts to glow, he’ll cause your party to become silenced. You’ll be unable to cast spells then.

You’ll then have to rely on physical attacks to defeat Gasputin for the duration of the debuff. Note that Gasputin also inflicts poison with some of its attacks.
Once Gapsputin has been defeated, the monsters creating the fog around the village will run away. You’ll then have to return to the village.

The Human Priest
As you return to the village with Luka, you’ll find that the villagers plan to get rid of the monster priest for good. As you talk to them, they’ll be mad at you for being traitors.
However, since you’ve defeated Gasputin, his magic on the priest will wear off, and he’ll turn human once again. The villagers will finally believe you and see the error of their ways.

Go and talk to the elder. He’ll apologize to you and ask you to explain the entire situation. Anyhow, you’ll have to return to the church, and you’ll find that the human priest called Bathyushka is trying to leave the village.
He’ll ask you to lead him to the village exit. Luka will also arrive to give him his mother’s keepsake. Once the priest leaves for good, the elder will come, wanting to apologize to the priest.

To The Present
Now that you’ve gotten rid of the issues in this era, it’s time to head to the present and see what’s going on in the Vogograd of the present.
As you arrive here, you’ll find a monument in the middle of the village. The monument is tampered with, detailing a false story of how the villagers protected the priest, while the adventurers were the ones trying to harm them.

One of Luka’s descendants, a child called Lev, is also here, and he’s trying to tell the truth to the children, but everyone thinks he’s lying.
Talk to Lev in his house, and he’ll tell you that his grandfather and his father told him a different version of the story than what the rest of the town believes. He’s doubting them, unable to believe it’s the truth.

Corruption
If you go and talk to the mayor, he’ll refuse to believe that the monument has been tampered with and will dismiss you quite quickly.
Go out of the mayor’s house, and you’ll see a young boy standing guard outside the door. Talk to him, and he’ll let you in to meet the high and mighty Sashsa, the leader of all the children in Vogograd.

Sasha uncovers an inscription from the ground, a stone tablet. The stone tablets tell the true story of how the villagers had harmed the priest, and the adventurers saved them all.
Sasha and his friends finally believe that Lev was telling the truth all along, and they want to spread the truth to everyone in the village, but everyone refuses to believe.

The Stone Tablet
You’ll now have a choice to give the stone tablet to the mayor of Vagograd in the present or the elder of Vagograd in the past. I picked the option to give the mayor of Vagograd in the present.
He took the stone tablet and smashed it with a club, claiming how could such a piece of evidence have left his sight. He’ll then dismiss you again due to lack of proof, the proof that he just destroyed.

If you go and talk to Sasha again, he’d have made up with Lev. They know that the entire village doesn’t want to believe them, and there’s not much they can do about it, but at least the future generations will know the truth.
You can then return to the Shrine of Mysteries and continue your journey to the other islands.
