Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined – Walkthrough Part 4: L’Arca’s Curse

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Walkthrough

In Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, you have to gather stone fragments and place them in the Shrine of Mysteries to unlock new islands. Each of these islands has gone through a different problem in the past, and getting rid of the said problem allows the island to mysteriously appear in the present in the surrounding oceans of Estard Island. For more information on the game, please check out the game’s official Steam page here.

You can unlock the L’Arca region after completing Emberdale’s quest. After acquiring the stone fragments from the present-day Emberdale, you can head to the Shrine of Mysteries to complete a pedestal, and doing so will allow you to travel to the L’Arca island.

An Odd Curse

As you’re teleported to the L’Arca region, everything seems normal at first. You have to look around to find the village. You can find it just a little north of the teleporter.

After arriving in the village, you’ll find a dog greeting you. The entire village is filled with animals. Even the shops have animals dealing with you instead of humans.

However, you’ll also find a few humans, but in unlikely places. There’s an old man in a stable. But none of these humans can talk to you.

There’s a barn in the north-east part of the village. The building stands out from the rest due to being made of plain wood. As you walk inside, you’ll find a young boy, but he’s unable to speak like the rest of the humans you’ve encountered here.

Sniffing Around The Town

You’ll have to talk to as many animals as possible and keep roaming around the area. After a little while, Kiefer will be done with the idea and ask you to find the inn and rest for the night.

Head to the inn and talk to the cow at the counter. You’ll be able to sleep peacefully for the night. The next morning, you’ll find the inn’s caretakers have turned back into humans.

However, that doesn’t last for long, as they’ll turn back into animals while talking to you. They’re at least able to tell you that the village is cursed and the animals have turned into humans, while the humans have turned into animals.

As you head out of the inn, you’ll have to talk to a few more people to find out what’s going on here. You’ll find out that the curse on this place has been cast by someone from the mountains towards the west.

The Wolf Cub

There’s a man near the north exit of the village. If you talk to him, he’ll give you the collar key to free the boy in the barn. So far from the villagers, it seems obvious that the young boy in the barn is actually a wolf, and he has been kept in the barn for his own safety.

Head to the barn to free the young boy. He’d have turned back into a wolf cub by now. However, he’ll turn back human shortly after you free him.

The wolf boy likely knows who caused the curse and dashes out of the barn. Now, you have to follow him to get to the bottom of this.

The boy leads you out of the village and towards the cave in the mountains to the west. Keep going until you reach the cave.

Grotta Del Sigillo

The wolf boy will lead you to the Grotta Del Sigillo, but you’ll have to search for him from here onwards. You’ll enter on Level 1 of the area, and keep moving straight towards the north to find the ladder leading further up.

Once you arrive on Level 2, there’s a short path leading to the left where you can find a red stone fragment. Keep going south after picking up the stone fragment to find the next ladder.

After reaching Level 3, the staircase leading to Level 4 is right ahead, but there’s also a chest on this level that you can open up.

Level 4 is where you need to be. There’s a path leading out of the cave, but there’s also a ladder here leading to Level 5. Level 5 has a chest with a mini medal in it, so pick it up and get back to Level 4 and head out of the exit.

Once you’re outside, circle the mountain, and you’ll find the wolf boy waiting for you on the path. The wolf boy uncovers a path leading into the cave, but before you head inside, you should move on ahead on the path and enter the mountain again from the entrance there.

Here, you’ll find a chest with the Wizard’s Staff in it, and it is easily one of the most useful weapons you’ve got so far. Have Maribel equip it and go to the path the wolf boy uncovered.

Wolf Mother

As you enter the cave from the path the wolf boy discovered, you’ll find an injured wolf inside. The boy approaches this wolf and attempts to comfort it. It appears whoever unleashed the curse on the village is just ahead.

In the end, the boy and the wolf both muster the courage and strength to stand up once again. Now, you have to take the ladder and fight against the enemy.

As you go upstairs, you’ll find a gigantic stone platform, as if it’s used to cover something up. Interact with it to remove the stone, and that will cause Hackrobat to come forth.

According to what you’ve heard from the villagers, the Hackrobat was sealed by a group of white wolves, and the wolf boy we know is one of those white wolves. However, something or someone released Hackrobat, and he unleashed a curse on the village.

Battle Against Hackrobat

You’ll then have to fight against Hackrobat. Make sure you’re at least level 10 before attempting to fight this boss, as it has a ton of HP.

Have Maribel repeatedly use the Crack spell. You can also use the Kerfrizz spell if you’ve unlocked it by now. Kiefer should keep using the Helm Splitter and the Cutting Edge skill until you run out of MP.

Once you run out of Kiefer’s MP, make him use regular attacks or have him use items to heal the party. For your character, you can buff Maribel and Kiefer’s attack to make them do more damage.

Don’t hesitate to use medicinal herbs to heal your characters while also saving up on MP. Maribel also learns heal if you’ve leveled up her vocation enough. Make sure the party members have at least 50% HP at all times, so they don’t end up being knocked out.

Hackrobat’s Grudge

Once you’ve defeated the boss, Hackrobat will get extremely upset. He’ll use what remains of his power to turn the wolf boy permanently human. He’ll then be sealed again inside the cave.

Now, you have to go and see if the village is back to normal. Once you arrive at the village, you’ll find that all of the villagers are human now.

Head to the barn where you first met the wolf boy. The barn’s owner would be here, and he’d be grateful for your help. He had to lock up the young wolf because he was a little too active while being injured.

The wolf boy then leaves, and you’ll also have to return to Estard Island to see if the island has appeared in the present or not.

An Unexpected Ally

When you arrive at the teleporter, you’ll find the wolf boy, alongside his pack. After a short sequence, the wolf boy will join your party and will be named Ruff.

Now, after you’ve returned to Estard Island, you have to go and visit L’Arca Island in the present day, after the island appears in the ocean. It would appear towards the west of Estard Island.

Hackrobat’s Redemption

In the present day, you can head to the L’Arca village, and you’ll find the people celebrating while wearing animal costumes. You can also find a stone fragment inside the house next to the barn.

Once you’ve picked up the stone fragment there, you’ll have to head to the cave where you fought Hackrobat.

You’ll also find a red stone fragment in Grotta Del Sigillo Level 1. It’s hard to miss, as you’ll have to pass by it if you want to reach Hackrobat’s chamber.

Once you’ve arrived in Hackrobat’s room, remove the stone there to release him. You’ll find out that Hackrobat has also turned into a human. He feels guilty of what he did to Ruff.

In an attempt to right his wrongs, Hackrobat will cast another spell to turn Ruff back into a wolf, but it ends up turning him even more of a human as he’s able to speak normally now.

Ruff turns out to be a talkative boy, and he tells Hackrobat that he wants to remain human from now on. Hackrobat will give you a red fragment.

After obtaining the red fragment from Hackrobat, you can Zoom directly to the Shrine of Mysteries. Here, you have to place all the fragments on the pedestal, and that will unlock the path for your next adventure.
