Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is a turn-based RPG where you play the role of an adventurer who’s trying to restore islands to the ocean by traveling between the past and the present. In doing so, you have to get rid of the Demon King’s influence and solve the problems of each region. For more information on the game, check out their official Steam page here.
By now, you should’ve mastered the default Vocations of your characters. As soon as you step into this region, you’ll hear people talking about how you can change your vocations in the Abbey. However, if only things were so simple.
Table of contents
Pilgrim’s Rest
As you arrive in the region, you’ll first reach Pilgrim’s Rest. It is a small stop for people heading towards the Alltrades Abbey. You can talk to the people here to find out that you can change your vocations at the Abbey.
There’s also a well here. If you head down to the well, you can find a mini-game location. Talk to the man on the counter here, and you’ll be able to play the game of matching cards for rewards. You can get some interesting equipment through this mini-game.

High Priest Of The Alltrades Abbey
From the Pilgrim’s Rest, make your way forward towards the Alltrades Abbey. As you arrive in the location, all you have to do is head straight to the High Priest.
He’ll ask you which Vocation you want to equip, and then, once you’ve confirmed everything, he’ll ask you to step into the water behind him.

The water will start glowing, and the high priest will have stolen all of your skills. You’ll then wake up inside a cottage where you’ll find a pair of siblings quarrelling.
Nava and Zev have been keeping you in their house after you were thrown down here and were unconscious. Nava is sick, while Zev takes care of her. Zev asks you to head out of the house.

Pilgrim’s Perdition
There’s a stone fragment in the northwest corner of the town, alongside two locked chests. There’s another stone fragment in a building, but the lady on the counter won’t let you touch it yet.
There’s a staircase leading underground to the east of the village; you have to approach it. You’ll find Eustace and Fingers here.

Fingers will suggest that you come with him to the cave, and that would allow you to escape this area and return to Alltrades Abbey.
Leave this town and head for the cave towards the east. Since you can’t use spells, it’s recommended that you purchase medicinal herbs for healing before leaving for the cave.

Western Cave
As you enter the Cave, you’ll find the stairs leading to level 2 on the north side of the level. Once you’re on level 3, you can take the stairs going back down to level 2 on the east side of the level to get the chest.
In level 3 of the cave, you’ll find around three stairs going further up. You have to take the one on the north to progress ahead.

After you’re on Level 4, just walk a little further in, and you’ll encounter the guards. These two monsters are appointed here by the impostor High Priest.
Fingers will betray you here, sneaking into the Abbey while the monsters are occupied with you. These monsters will defeat you in no time, and you’re expected to be defeated here.

Soulstealer
After being defeated, you’ll once again find yourself in Nava and Zev’s house. There’s some drama going on here. You have to go to the stairs leading underground, where you’ll find Zev and Eustace.
Try to move towards Nava’s house, and you’ll immediately hear screaming that monsters have arrived. It’s just one monster, though. They’re handing out a soulstealer, a sword that makes people lose their minds.

The night goes on as a man takes the sword and manages to harm Zev, who’s still alive, but the monsters take him as well. Eustace and Nava plan with you to head to the cave again to rescue Zev.
Head to the Western Cave again, using the same route. However, you’ll find that the two guards from before aren’t present right now, and you’ll be able to enter the Precipice Pass.

The Precipice Pass
When you arrive here, Nava will settle in the church for the time being. It appears that the real High Priestess of Alltrades Abbey is imprisoned somewhere.
Talk with Eustace and Fingers before heading for the Alltrades Abbey. Once you head there, you’ll find the gate locked. However, you have to go further down first.

Take the stairs on the left going downwards. You’ll find a dungeon here. Keep progressing deeper into the dungeon until you find the High Priestess.
Head to level 3 of the dungeon. You can find a path here that leads to the High Priestess, who’s stuck behind a barrier.

High Priestess’ Barrier
To break the barrier, you’ll have to head upstairs. There are two crystals, one on the left and one on the right. There’s a laser coming out of the south, and there are also many pedestals with mirrors on them that you can move.
First, you have to destroy the crystal on the left. It’s fairly easy, but the real challenge is the crystal on the right.

For the crystal on the right, the mirror pedestals aren’t enough on the right side, so you’ll have to utilize the pedestals on the left side as well to make up for a path so that the laser can travel to the crystal.
Once you’ve destroyed both of the crystals, the barrier will be disabled, and the High Priestess will be free. Go ahead downstairs to see if it worked.

Infiltrating The Abbey
You’ll have to battle with the guards from the Western Cave after freeing the High Priestess. She takes away most of their powers, so you can easily fight against them now, even without your spells.
The High Priestess gives you the key to the Abbey. Head back to the tunnel with the locked gate and use the key on it. You’ll then arrive at Abbey – Underground Level 4.

As you make your way to Underground Level 3, you’ll find Zev here. Zev is afflicted by a Soulstealer, but Eustace manages to destroy the sword, returning Zev’s soul to his body.
After that, the Priestess senses some magic in the ball of light nearby. It is all of your skills that were stolen by the imposter priest. Interact with the ball of light to get all of your skills back.

Allblades Arena
After escaping from the Alltrades Tunnel, you’ll find yourself in the Allblades Arena, where the winner is rewarded freedom from the Abbey. It appears that Nava is also taking part in the arena, and she has acquired a Soulstealer.
Go to the waiting room of the arena to talk to Nava. Nava will not be entirely herself due to the Soulstealer, but Eustace suggests that defeating her in the arena might be the key to restoring her.

Take part in the arena, and you’ll have to perform four battles in quick succession. Keep in mind that the High Priestess will offer to change your Vocations before entering the arena, but it’s not recommended.
Changing Vocations removes all the skills you’ve learned from the previous Vocation, and since the enemies in this area are strong, it’s better to change the vocation once you’ve defeated the High Priest.

Talk to the monster on the counter to initiate the battles. Nava will be fighting alongside three Cureslime Knights. Fortunately, Zev will be here to help you out in these battles.
Nava is quite strong and will often cast Repel magic on herself. It’s best to use physical attacks on her. If you’re using default Vocations, having Ruff repeatedly cast Call of the Wild can consistently bring her HP down.

Once you’ve defeated Nava, Zev will free her from the Soulstealer. Once the battle is complete, Eustace arrives with reinforcements, and the riot begins in the Allblades arena.
You’ll use this opportunity to head to the main building and confront the impostor High Priest.

The Fake High Priest
As you arrive in the main building and confront the High Priest, you’ll find out he’s a pawn of the Demon King, called Cardinal Sin.
You’ll have to battle against the Cardinal Sin. However, the High Priestess Jacqueline is on our side during the battle, and she’ll keep healing your party and dealing damage to the boss.

This boss often casts a magic barrier on itself. So it’s best to rely on physical attacks to do damage against this boss. The boss is weak to ice spells, and that’s what the High Priestess keeps using as well.
When Cardinal Sin powers up, it’ll start absorbing HP with its attacks, and the magic barrier around it gets stronger. Wait for the barrier to wear down, and then you can start using Crack or Crackle with Maribel.

After you’ve defeated Cardinal Sin in battle, everything will go back to normal, with Jacqueline now taking the role of the High Priestess for the Alltrades Abbey.

Wrapping Up In The Past
Talk to Jacqueline in the past, and she’ll thank you, allowing you to change your Vocations. She’ll also give you a stone fragment and ask you to pay a visit to the Alltrades Abbey of the present.
Before you leave, keep in mind that there’s a gray stone fragment in the Alltrades Abbey – Basement Level 1. It only becomes available after you’ve defeated the fake High Priest.

Return to the Pilgrim’s Perdition and go to the room where you found a stone fragment. The lady on the counter is not there anymore, and you can easily take the fragment, as well as the Thief’s Key, from the chest.
The Thief’s Key allows you to open most of the locked chests that you encounter on your journey and is an important key item.

To The Present
Now that you’ve got everything in the past, it’s time to head to the present. Travel to the newly appeared Alltrades Abbey. Here, you’ll find Jacqui, the new High Priestess.
She’s such a cool character. Jacqui gives you the Career Sphere. It lets you change your Vocations from anywhere and anytime, without having to visit the abbey.

Jacqui also gives you a stone fragment. If you go south from the Alltrades Abbey of the present, you’ll encounter small ruins. There are bandits here.
After you’ve defeated the bandits, they’ll retreat to the cave. You have to head to what used to be the Western Cave in the past.

The Bandits Of Alltrades Abbey
At the cave door, they’ll ask you which way is Alltrades Abbey? You have to answer “Get Lost!” to be granted entry to the bandit’s base.
If you go deeper into the cave, you’ll encounter The Mighty Pip. It’s a monster and also the current leader of the bandits, despite being very small.

The Mighty Pip uses big spells, but if you can tank the spells a few times, it’ll run out of MP and won’t be able to do much damage for the rest of the battle.
Once you’ve defeated the Mighty Pip, he’ll give you a stone fragment, and then you can return to the Shrine of Mysteries to continue your adventure.
