DragonSword Awakening is an action-adventure RPG by Hound13 Inc., serving as the debut project for the developers. With an anime-style art style developed in Unreal Engine 5, the journey follows our protagonist, Lute, with his party to defeat the existential threat of a dragon that has recently awakened from its slumber. Prologue | To The Orbis Kingdom

DragonSword: Awakening Prologue
The Dragon Attacking The Party Members.

The entire party is nearly defeated during the fight with the Dragon, and the party leader decides to sacrifice himself to save Lute.

When he collapses, Lute wishes for extraordinary power and suddenly transforms into a demonic being. And with this, the perspective shifts to fifteen days before this battle.

Our first quest is “To The Orbis Kingdom.” After Lute wakes up, turn around and cross the bridge; press space to mantle the cliffs and keep moving along the path. Break the boxes to your right to find a treasure chest, and then go near the tree, press F to get into a pushing state, and hold W to push it to create a path forward.

Johnny serves as the captain of the Mercenaries, and after he learns that Lute has healing powers, he decides to show him the way to the Royal Palace; Lute is from a different region.

The Giant Door.

Numerous monsters are asleep inside the cave. Johnny asks us to surprise them with an attack. Move forward, defeat the goblins, and you will learn about quick-time events in combat. Whenever you see a command button at the mid-right of your screen, press it to initiate a powerful attack.

Once they’re all dealt with, follow Johnny to a giant door. Use the lever to the left to open it, and get ready to fight the Orc Warrior,

Orc Warrior – Boss Fight

The Goblins And Orc Warrior.

The Orc Warrior is a massive orc who calls goblins for its assistance during the fight. Since it’s the tutorial boss fight, you don’t have to be extremely defensive/offensive, as Johnny will assist you.

There are two bars: the HP and Shield. Before you can effectively drain the Orc Warrior’s HP, hit it continuously to break the shield. It will drop their defenses, and you will be able to defeat them efficiently. However, the shield recharges after a short duration.

Press Shift to dodge roll and move away from the boss’ attacks to avoid the hits, and then move forward to attack it. Johnny’s attacks will juggle the boss mid-air, and you can follow it up by jumping and then attacking the Orc Warrior; don’t forget to use Tag Combo attacks to end the fight faster.

Multiple Goblins Surrounding The Party.

After attacking the boss for a minute or two, the fight will end. However, after the Orc Warrior, multiple Goblins swarm the arena, surrounding Lute, Castella, and Johnny. For his ultimate trick to defeat them, Johnny whips out two bundles of bombs, blowing up the place.

While the goblins don’t survive the blast, Castella and Johnny barely manage to survive, but it leaves Lute unconscious. Castella comments on his problematic behaviour, and here, Johnny says that Lute and he are destined to meet; he can feel it.

Castella asks him about it, and suddenly, he calls his pet dragon to fly away to the Orbis Royal Castle. As they fly on the horizon, the game officially starts here with the title drop.

A New Companion

Orbis Royal Castle.

At the castle, Johnny asks Lute to join the mercenaries. However, Lute is hesitant, and Johnny tries to negotiate with him as he needs a place to stay, and he doesn’t know anyone in Orbis.

Still, Lute accepts his offer. Pick a name for your Mercenary Band, and with this, DragonSword – Awakening’s prologue comes to an end. You’re free to explore the world, the quest menu, and the inventory.

The prologue ends before the fifth quest of the first chapter.
