DragonSword: Awakening – Walkthrough Part 7: Chapter 6

This walkthrough will cover DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6.

Thanks to the information we received from the Dragon Worshippers’ letter, everyone at the Orbis Kingdom started preparing for the impending siege. However, they attacked unexpectedly early and caused serious damage to the Order’s Barrier Stone. It gave them enough time to swarm the Steelheart Fortress and summon one of the Origin Dragons: Gauron. Johnny and his party, King Kalsion and the royal army, and Ewald defeated Gauron. We have so much to unravel from this point, as Ryza, one of the Six Heroes, has finally shown herself.

The Final Quest

Talking To Anne.

After Johnny makes you a permanent member of the mercenaries, talk to Anne at the reception. Since she doesn’t have a quest for us (as usual), go to Roderic Castle. The guards outside will tell us that Lord Ewald awaits us, so head inside and talk to him.

He and the party finally have the time to catch up after the events of Steelheart Fortress. Additionally, he tells us about Ryza, one of the Six Heroes, and the party is left startled. Remember the hooded informant? That was Ryza, who was seeking Barduk, just like us.

Lord Ewald Telling Us About Ryza.

Since we have met all the heroes, Lord Ewald has one more request for us: To find Ropie. He gives us a letter and asks us to drop it off at the shed where he fought Saintess Ysera. With this information, the first quest of Chapter 6 ends.

The Old Cabin

The Path To Ropie’s Cabin.

Leave Roderic’s Castle and head towards the Forest of Shade. There is an Eona’s Legacy near the Shaded Forest, so teleport there and drop down to the objective’s location.

At the entrance, the party recalls their meeting with Saintess Ysera. However, they notice that the surroundings feel different, as if someone defeated all the monsters in this area. With precautionary measures, move through the forest to Ropie’s cabin.

Placing The Letter On The Table.

Numerous Orcs and Dragon Worshippers have surrounded the cabin, so deal with them. Aria explains they are also looking for Ropie because he has Arugal’s Heart. Johnny barges through the cabin’s door, but there is no one inside. Put the letter on the table, and Lute says he feels nostalgic, as he lived in a cabin like this before.

Look around the cabin, and when Lute sees a book on the table, Ropie will return. He seems calm and collected, and warns the party not to draw their swords against him. So, he ignores them and picks up the letter. He burns it after reading it and asks the party to tell Ewald to meet him at the “meeting spot.”

Ropie With The Johnny Mercenaries.

When Ropie leaves, return to the Royal Palace and report everything to Ewald. He immediately leaves to meet with Ropie, and the “The Old Cabin” quest ends.

Reunion

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Outside The Castle.

At Roderic’s Castle, talk to Johnny. He decides to follow Lord Ewald to the meeting spot, as it seems “fun.” Everyone is against the idea, but he reveals the real reason: recording everything about the Six Heroes. Since they’re the only ones to learn about how two heroes died, it should be natural for them to remain entangled in the inner matters of the Six Heroes.

Now, leave the castle and go to the Amber Trading Company Street. There, we see the hooded informant again; it’s Ryza. However, she’s falling for a scam, so the party decides to warn her. The seller proves that he’s not scamming. After this situation, go to the deserted street to meet Ryza. Everyone thanks her for helping them at the Steelheart Fortress.

Ryza, Hooded.

When this conversation ends, move outside the Royal Palace. Surprisingly, Ryza is following the party. Follow the path until everyone feels disturbed, and then talk to her. Johnny asks her to take off the hood.

Ryza Without The Hood.

The party asks about her motives. She has questions for both Ewald and Ropie, which is why she’s following us. Ryza knows about their location now, and the party decides to follow her instead, as they were trying to tail Ewald with vague directions.

Head to the meeting spot, and you will find Lord Ewald and Ropie having a conversation. The party and Ryza decide to eavesdrop on them, but Ropie notices Ryza’s presence and calls her out. The three heroes talk about the threat of the origin dragon, and when Ewald asks them to join everyone in this battle, they both refuse. As a gesture for being his ex-friend, Ropie gives Ewald a note containing information about the next attack.

Lord Ewald, Ropie, And Ryza.

Startled, Ewald says he needs to verify it first. After a small conversation with Ryza, both heroes leave, but Ropie is still standing at the meeting spot. The party’s legs give out as they were hiding for a long time, and they eventually reveal themselves to the rogue hero. Turns out, he knows Lute and asks whether he has found the “thing” he’s looking for.

Here, a jaw-dropping plot twist is revealed: Ropie is Lute’s grandpa, who sent him to Orbis. He politely asks the party to let him talk to Lute alone. Johnny accepts his request, and the “Reunion” quest ends.

The Order’s Decision

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Lute And Ropie, His Grandpa, Talking.

Meet Ropie on the distant island from the cliff. Lute and Ropie reunite after a long time, and they catch up with each other. He offers Lute to come with him to live a safe life, and he promises that no one will be able to hurt him, but he decides to stay with the Party, as he wants to help the people of Orbis Kingdom defeat the Origin Dragons.

Ropie laughs and thinks to himself that kids do grow up really fast. So, after this conversation, Lute leaves, but there’s someone else who was listening to their conversation: Rubens, an Origin Dragon who talked with Gauron. Ropie and Rubens are acquainted in some way, and Ropie warns him that if he causes further delay to “that” matter, he might have to consider his “options”; everything seems vague.

Castella Talking To Lute.

After this reunion, return to your party. Lute will tell everything he has discussed with Ropie, and reveals he will be staying with Johnny Mercenaries for good. He still wants to learn the reason why his grandpa betrayed the Six Heroes, as he believes there must be a reason behind it.

Return to Roderic’s Castle and meet with Lord Ewald. He thanks us for completing his quest in finding the Six Heroes, and asks the party to remain active near the castle, as he might summon them again. Leave the castle, and Theresia will tell us that Saintess Ornette has summoned the party at the cathedral. She’s busy finding the traitor within the order, but no breakthrough has been reported.

Lute Saying He’s Seeking The Reason For Ropie’s

Visit the cathedral and talk to Ornette. She needs our help to find numerous Dragon Worshippers’ ancient texts that would help them learn more about the origin of dragons and the worshippers’ goal. To accompany us, she has hired the Red Fox Mercenaries. Leave the Cathedral, and the party decides to accept their help. With this, “The Order’s Decision” quest ends.

The Red Fox Mercenaries

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Ornette Sending Us For A Quest With The Mercenaries.

For Saintess Ornette’s quest, we need to go to the Quiet Wind Plains, which is pretty far from the Cathedral. Open the map and teleport to the Warp Point near the objective, and then move towards the north watchtower.

Talk to the Orbis Soldier. He will thank us for protecting the Steelheart Fortress and tell us about the last known location of the Red Fox Mercenaries. Move forward to their location and defeat the monsters blocking your path. Go deeper into the Orcs’ settlement to find two mysterious mercenaries who have defeated multiple Orcs before.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Going To The Ancient Temple.

This turns into a mind-boggling situation, as it is revealed that there are two Red Fox Mercenaries; Anne has given them the same name due to an issue within the guild. Kalien, the Red Fox Mercenary who has accepted this quest to aid us, thinks highly of herself. As Johnny talks to her, Roxy and Alex arrive. Roxy explains the situation, and since they’re also called the Red Fox Mercenaries, Kalien and her partner, Dana, also decide to aid us; three bands for one quest is very rare.

After this fiasco, head to the ruined temple to find the texts. At the entrance, both Red Fox mercenaries will have yet another argument. Investigate the ruined temple while defeating the monsters, and examine the dragon statue. Suddenly, we hear Kalien and Roxy fighting again, so go deeper into the temple and check the commotion.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Kalien.

Converse with them, and the “The Red Fox Mercenaries” quest will end.

The Underground Temple

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
The Ancient Temple.

Follow Johnny downstairs to enter the underground temple. Pull the lever before you to open the door to your left. Since the temple is full of unrequired books, the parties decide to split and look for the right information they came here for.

When the others leave, check the sparkles on the floor to find information about forging Dragon Dust and the recruitment of Organa Order’s Knights. The parties reunite after it, and they find a mural that catches their interest. This mural is a hint to complete the next puzzle, where you have to put two of three pots on fire.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Lute Talking To The Party.

Stand on the top left and bottom platforms to complete it. Now, descend the staircase to your left to find ghouls. They can’t see, but are sensitive to noise. So, defeat them, then talk to Dana. As everyone talks about how the temple was occupied by the Dragon Worshippers, Dana opens the next door. Head inside to end the “The Underground Temple” quest.

The Abyss of Heresy

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
A Dragon Worshipper’s Logbook.

In this room, search all three clues on the ground. Once done, talk to Johnny. He will show you a book he has found about the Dragon Dust. According to the Dragon Worshippers, Dragon Dust is the “flesh and blood” of Gods, and they’ve been experimenting with it to get closer to them.

After that, talk to Roxy to explain everything you have found so far. See the ghouls? They were humans, experimented on by the Dragon Worshippers. Suddenly, the party notices the absence of Dana. So, leave the lab to find her in the previous room. Dana warns us about the presence of Dragon Worshippers in the temple; they’re behind the broken wall.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Breaking The Wall.

Aria sets up multiple bombs to expose the ruins behind that wall. When the next area is revealed, talk to Aria, and this quest will come to an end.

Rescue

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
The Barrier.

Go through the hole to enter a prison, and eight Ghouls will ambush you. Defeat them all, and now we have to solve a puzzle to break the prison barrier to free everyone inside.

There are three rotating switches with different signs. To unlock everyone, you will need to put the correct sign on every switch. For now, go back to the lab. There are three signs on the walls and roof. Check the images below for the correct sign placements.

After the barriers drop, talk to the prisoners. They will thank us for freeing them, but the loud explosion has attracted 12 ghouls. Defeat them all, and talk to the prisoners again. They will ask us to save the ghouls in the deepest chamber, as they were humans before. Since Lute is a healer, he says he can try doing it. To escort the prisoners to Orbis Kingdom, Roxy and Alex leave the temple. Before the prisoners leave, they tell us to stay vigilant, as the Dragon Worshippers have a monster in the deepest chamber.

So, the prisoners and Red Fox Mercenaries leave, and the “Rescue” quest ends.

Tomb of Greed

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Fighting Ghouls.

From the prison, go left and descend the staircase to reach the deepest area of this temple. Defeat the ghouls in your path and use the lever, which triggers a mechanism. Since there are multiple books in the basement, Johnny asks Castella and Aria to rummage through them for information, and he and Lute decide to look for the mechanism.

Now, go to the objective’s location and talk to Johnny. The mechanism has opened a door that leads to a dungeon named Tomb of Greed. Since it’s just you and Johnny, you won’t have to set up a team for it.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Entering The Tomb Of Greed.

In the Tomb of Greed, ascend the staircase to find a door. To unlock it, stand on the platforms below the staircase and the one near it; ignore the top platform. The next area is shrouded in darkness, and finding the next door can be a bit tricky. So, defeat all the ghouls, and follow the objective marker to ensure that you’re on the right path.

With that, move into the next room, and you’ll find another platform puzzle. Follow the mural’s order to unlock the next door. Inside the room, Johnny and Lute find numerous piles of treasures. When they decide to get Castella and Aria here, a giant ghoul named Ghoul Greed attacks them.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
A Dark Room.

It’s time to fight it. Ghoul Greed is slow and doesn’t attack you much since ghouls can’t see properly. The trick to fighting the boss is to attack it and dodge backwards. If it charges at you, move away and let it hit a wall, giving you enough time to deal staggering damage.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Using Kalien To Defeat Ghoul Greed.

When the boss reaches 40% HP, Kalien breaks through the roof with her fire foxes and helps you in the battle; she joins your team. Play as her to defeat Ghoul Greed faster. Once it’s defeated, talk to Kalien, and everyone will reunite. To prove that they killed the boss, Johnny picks up a necklace from the basement. With this, the party leaves the dungeon, and the quest ends.

The Life of a Mercenary

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Reporting To Ornette.

Return to the Antea Great Cathedral and report to Saintess Ornette. The party tells her there are two Red Fox Mercenaries, and she apologizes for the inconvenience. We give her the ancient texts, and then leave the cathedral.

Go to the Mercenary Guild Office and talk to Roxy. She tells us about where the survivors went, so go to the docks and talk to them. Most of them have already left Orbis, except one girl: Eira. She explains how Dragon Worshippers raided her village and experimented on everyone. The Ghoul Greed was her father, and the necklace that we found belonged to her sister.

DragonSword: Awakening Chapter 6
Eira, One Of The Survivors.

She thanks us for it and asks us to visit her village to help with reconstruction. Now, talk to Johnny. Through this quest, Lute appreciates how mercenaries work and decides to give it his all.
