Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Dread Neighbor.
Dread Neighbor is a first-person psychological horror game that lets players experience multiple perspectives against one common villain. It puts you on edge in each and every one of these perspectives through its visuals, sound design, and jump scares. For more information, you can also visit the game’s official Steam page here.
This walkthrough of Dread Neighbor covers all of the perspectives available in the main story and contains solutions to all of the puzzles in every single story.
Lily’s Story

Once the game starts, familiarize yourself with the control scheme as it is displayed on the screen after the initial cutscene. Head left next and then take another left to enter a small hallway. Go inside the last room on your right and interact with the broken glass on the floor.

Your phone will start ringing after you investigate the broken glass. Go out of this room, turn left, head straight, and go inside the bathroom, which is the last room on your left. Interact with the toilet here to find your phone.
If the phone has not yet spawned inside the bathroom, then go inside the bedroom and interact with the toy rabbit on the shelf.

You’ll need to head to your bedroom now. Get out of the bathroom, turn right, head straight, and enter the room on your left. Interact with the bed here to look under it. You can find your house keys on the right side under the bed.

Once you’ve found your keys, you’ll start hearing some noise. Go through the entire apartment to look for the source and enter the kitchen to trigger some dialogue. Go back to your bedroom and sleep on your bed.
The Midnight Jumpscare

Something wakes you up in the middle of the night, and the power is also out at the moment. Go outside your bedroom, take a left, and interact with the drawer here to find a lighter, which you can use as a light source.Â

It’s time to search the house, so start with the room on your right, and search the cupboard here. Next, go through the sliding drawer inside the bedroom. Search the drawer and the fridge inside the kitchen as well.Â

Interact with your apartment door, too. Lastly, enter the bathroom, and interact with the shower curtains to find a toy rabbit inside. Go back to bed, and you’ll start hearing some noise again.

Make your way to the living room, and you’ll find that the television is turned on and it is showing weird static. Interact with the TV next to progress. Some dialogue plays out, after which you should head back and sleep.
A Weird Dream

You’ll wake up again during your sleep, but this time you will find yourself outside the apartment, in an alleyway. Keep heading straight ahead and take a right at the end to follow the man that you just spotted.

You will enter a different hallway, but you need to keep going forward. Take the first right at the end and click on the elevator that’s currently on the fifth floor. An enemy will stalk you on your left from the hallway, so quickly enter the elevator once it opens.Â

Keep interacting with the buttons inside the elevator to find out that it is actually broken. Go outside, take a right, and be ready for a jumpscare here.

The light goes out, and you’ll need to use the door on your left, in front of the elevator, to access the stairs. Keep climbing the stairs and take the first open left at the end. Go through the hallway ahead and take another left at the end to enter your apartment.

Go inside your bedroom to find something creepy waiting for you. Quickly run back to the stairs to call the police. However, another jumpscare will be waiting for you here, which marks the end of Lily’s story.
Anna’s Story

You will now switch to playing as Anna, who is currently inside her office. Wait for your telephone to start ringing and pick it up once it does. You’ll hear a lot of static, after which Anna goes back to working again.

Some weird noise will be heard again, so look around you to spot something out of the ordinary. Continue working on your computer, and eventually, the power goes out in the office. After some time, Anna turns on her flashlight. Use this light to look behind you for a jumpscare.

Anna stands up, and you’ll be tasked with finding the circuit breaker. Immediately turn around and spot the red exit sign in front of you. Run towards this sign, and you should find the circuit breaker on the right side under the sign. Interact with the breaker to restore the power.
Searching For The Culprit

Look around the office to search for the culprit who turned the lights off. Search the office area, reception area, and the cabins by the windows. You will eventually find nothing.


Head inside the warehouse next, and you can find the door on the right side of the only lamp inside the office. Go inside, pick up the checklist on your left on the table, and interact with all of the mannequins in this room.
Going Back Home

It’s time to leave the office now, so start heading towards the exit again. Your phone will start ringing again, so pick it up on the way. After answering the phone, turn left, head straight to the end, take another left, and finally a right to reach the exit.

Keep following the hallway to reach the elevator. Interact with the elevator to call it up. Once the elevator arrives, go inside and press the buttons here. You will find out that the elevator is not working.


Exit the elevator, go left to find the stairs, and start heading down. Keep descending until you arrive at door number 05, the sixth time consecutively. Interact with door number 05 when it appears for the third time, too. Go through this door and use the stairs on the other side to continue your descent.

You will find out that door number 01 is locked, and this is your exit. Go back up a floor and pass through door number 02. Climb the stairs here to find a key at the end. Use this key to unlock the front door. Once you unlock the front door, it completes Anna’s part of the game.
Felix’s Story

The story starts near a lake where Felix is currently fishing. Interact with your rod to make a catch. Keep interacting with your rod when the icon appears to find different things inside the lake.

Eventually, a red carrying bag appears to float on your left side. Interact with this bag to end your fishing trip and start heading back. Get up next, turn back, and start heading straight.

Once you spot barriers at the end of your path, take a right from there. Keep going straight and interact with the rock here to spot something creepy. Immediately, take a left and start going straight ahead. An enemy appears at the end, which leads to the completion of Felix’s narrative.
Sherry’s Story

Welcome back to Pleasant Harbor Apartments for Sherry’s story. Run down the hallway, take your first right, and open the elevator. Go inside and press the button to go up.

Get out of the elevator, take two rights, and you’ll arrive outside your room. Interact with the door to learn that Sherry had left her keys at the office.

There is supposed to be a spare outside. Interact with the small box on the right side of the door and check inside for the keys. The key won’t be inside the box either.

Go back to the elevator and turn back around when you hear some noise. Go back down the hallway, and you’ll find the keys on your left next to the trash.
Inside Your Room


Use the keys to enter your room and then turn left to find a switch at the end that turns on the lights. Go inside the hallway in your room and use the switches here as well. There is another switch at the end of the living room as well.

After turning the lights on, watch the television in the living room. Head left next to go in the kitchen and interact with the box on the table to find a cake inside. You’ll need to find some candles for the cake.

Enter the room on the opposite side of the kitchen, which is to the right of the television. Use the switch on your right inside the room to turn the lights on. Interact with the drawer on your right side to find some candles inside.

Place the candles on the cake to update your objective. You will need a lighter, which can be found near the front door. Make your way to the entrance and interact with the storage area on your right to find the lighter. Use this lighter to light the candles.

Sit on the chair to celebrate your last birthday inside this room. Interact with the music box on the table to play a song. Once the music ends, a cutscene plays, and you will find yourself in a new area.
Making An Escape

After you wake up, open the white door in front of you and go through it. There is an orange box here, which you’ll come back to later.

Go back and move the shelf on your left to clear a path. Head through and take a left at the end to find a locked door.

In order to open this door, head back to the orange box. On the left side of the box, a doll will be waiting inside the cupboard with the key in her hand. Open her hand to get access to the key and use it to unlock the door.

Head through the newly unlocked door and take two rights to trigger a cutscene. This is the final cutscene in Sherry’s part of the story.
Sophia’s Story

This is another story that starts inside Pleasant Harbor Apartments. Once the dialogue ends, you’re tasked with taking out the trash. Begin by cleaning the litter box in front of you inside the living room.

Go to the bedroom on your left next. Pick up the trash on the table at the end. Go outside and pick up the garbage from the living room table on your right.Â

Enter the bathroom, which is just behind the living room table. Pick up the trash from the washing machine and the basket inside. Lastly, go inside the kitchen and pick up the rubbish from the table here.
Throwing The Trash Away

After picking up all the trash in your apartment, use the front door to go outside. Keep heading straight through the hallway ahead, take a right at the end, and call the elevator up.

Wait for the NPC inside the elevator to leave, then head inside and press the button to go down. Exit the elevator next and take a right, followed by a left to leave the apartment building.Â

Once you’re outside, head left to spot the trash can where you can dispose of the garbage. Go back right after this to get back inside the building.
Going Back To The Room

Run straight ahead inside the hallway, take the first right, and use the elevator to get back up to your floor. Exit the elevator and take a right, followed by a left to enter your room at the end.

Take a left at the end of the hall, inside your room, to spot some eyes on the roof of your living room. Interact with these eyes to start a dialogue.Â

You’ll be tasked with using the bathroom and then heading to sleep. Turn around from your current location and go to the bathroom at the end.

A small cutscene plays inside the bathroom, after which you need to go check your front door. Spy through the hole in your front door to spot a package outside.

Open your door, pick the package up, turn around, and place the package on top of the living room table at the end. Open the package to find a toy rabbit inside.

Interact with the toy rabbit, then head left to feed your cat. After feeding your cat, enter the bedroom and head to sleep.
A New Day

After going to sleep, you’ll find yourself outside the apartment building. Pick up the phone that is ringing on your left in this alley. You will only hear static, so put the phone back and start heading right to head back inside the apartment building.

Take a right at the end of the hallway inside the building, and use the elevator to go back up to your floor again. Once the elevator opens, you will spot a suspicious person waiting outside.

Do not leave; instead, use the elevator’s buttons to go up even higher inside the building. The elevator door opens on the fourth floor, too. Do not leave the elevator just yet. Press the buttons again to reach up to the fifth floor.Â

Once you reach the fifth floor, take a right followed by a left to get back to your room. Read the complaint letter on your front door and then enter your room.

Use the air freshener near the television inside the living room to deal with the stench inside your apartment.Â

Use the freshener on the bedroom table, the living room table, and the kitchen table. These locations are marked on your screen too. Feed the cat next and head back to sleep.
Another Day Passes

You’ll find yourself in the alley outside the apartment again. Go straight ahead and dispose of the garbage in the trash can on your right. Turn back after and take a right at the end to enter your apartment building.

Reach the elevator again and call it down. Once the elevator opens, be ready for a jumpscare. Enter the elevator and go back to the fifth floor. Exit the elevator when it reaches the top and take a right, followed by a left to get back inside your room.


Head inside your kitchen and interact with a cupboard at the end to trigger a small cutscene. Make your way near the litter box inside the living room, and next, pick up a mop.

Use the mop to clean the floor in the living room. Clean the floor in the kitchen as well, and interact with the freezer to clean its insides too.

Once you exit the kitchen, the power will go out. Go to your bedroom and use the candles on the table as a light source. Make your way to the bathroom next and close the shower inside.

Next, go near the front door, and you should start hearing someone crying. Use the spyhole to peek outside and look at the crying woman. Open the door to talk to the woman.

The woman disappears, and another door on your right opens. Head inside this newly opened room and interact with all of the interactable items inside. Start making your way back outside after.

You will spot the enemy coming inside, and when you do, stop moving. Wait for the enemy to leave the room first and then make an exit.
Finding Lucky

Interact with your room’s door to find out that Lucky, your cat, has run away. Follow Lucky to your right to spot stairs, which will allow you to progress.

Use the stairs to go two levels down and enter the open door in front of you. Take three rights after entering through this door to reach the next set of stairs.

Use the stairs to ascend a level and enter the hallway at the end. Take a left from the hallway and enter the room with the half-open door.

Head inside this room and check the cupboards here to look for Lucky. There are three cupboards in the living room and one in the kitchen.

You will be unsuccessful in finding Lucky here, but you’ll start hearing another crying noise coming from the bathroom. Head inside the bathroom and interact with the shower curtains to discover the source of the smell that has been contaminating your own room.Â

Leave the bathroom, and you’ll start hearing your cat’s meow coming from the bedroom. Head inside the bedroom to start the next section in this story.
Trying To Escape

You’ll find yourself inside a confined space, which you need to get out of. Go ahead, turn right and open the drawer on your left to find a screwdriver inside.Â

On the opposite side of this drawer, you’ll find an orange box. Use the screwdriver to open this box and obtain the key inside.

Get out of this room, turn left, and move the shelf blocking the door aside. Pick up another key inside. Leave this room, take a right, and then go through the door on your left to progress.Â

You’ll find your cat inside this room. Pick it up, leave the room, go right to the very end, and turn left to try to exit from the door here.Â

You’ll realize that someone is coming and that you need to hide. Immediately, turn back and run towards the red table in front of you. You’re gonna have to hide under this table.

Wait for the enemy to leave and then use the same door that he used to exit. Interact with the door in front of you after leaving to trigger a cutscene here.

Once the cutscene ends, turn around, head straight, and then take a right to reach the stairs. Use the stairs to descend a level and go left at the end to enter your room.

Use the spyhole on your front door to look outside and interact with the enemy. After the dialogue, enter your bedroom, and pick up your cellphone to call the police. Go back and peek through your front door to see the bad guy leaving.
Packing Up Your Stuff

It is time to pack your things and get ready to leave the apartment. Pick up the box on the living room table on your right. Then head left and enter the closet room on your right. Put the clothes inside the box.

Turn back next, head inside the bedroom, and pick up the stuff from the table here as well. Enter the bathroom next and pick things up from the washbasin here.

Interact with the breaker right next to the living room table to turn the power off. Then leave through your room’s front door.Â

Go to the elevator, and call it up. Use the elevator to descend to the ground floor. Take a right, followed by a left to leave the apartment building.

Keep heading left and run towards the car at the end to place your stuff inside and leave. The car travels for a good while before crashing down at the end.
Finding Help

Once the car crashes, get out and interact with your friend to check up on her. You’ll need to call for help, but your phone will not have network at this point.

Look towards the opposite side of the driver’s seat, and you should spot a signal tower in the distance. The red light on top of the tower continues to flash. Start running towards this light.

You will eventually cross a road and go through a broken wall to reach the tower. Keep moving towards this tower, and a cutscene should play when you get cell network at the end.

Once you make a call to the police, start retracing your steps back to your friend. Just turn around and keep heading straight through the wall. There’s a small problem, however, the enemy is waiting for you near the broken wall, and he will have fixed the wall to block your path.

Sophia takes her pepper spray out, and you can use it to stop the enemy for some time, which allows you to escape.Â

Run towards the signal tower and take a left at the end, followed by another left. You will find wire cutters inside a cart on your left. Pick these up, head straight ahead, take another left, and start cutting the wires that are blocking your path. Â

You’ll have to interact with the wires again and again to cut them. Make sure to run away when the enemy gets close and use your pepper spray as well. When the wires are cut, crawl through the hole to get to the other side.

Once you crawl through, start running straight ahead because the enemy will start chasing you. A cutscene plays at the end, where the enemy gets hit by a car. Pick up the killer’s weapon and give him a taste of his own medicine.
Epilogue

You’ll be back in another apartment now. Turn the TV off and feed your cat, first and foremost. The cat’s food can be found on the right side of the television.

Next, head to the kitchen and interact with the freezer to pick up some eggs. Interact with the stove right next to the freezer to cook these eggs. Your doorbell will start ringing. Go peek through the spyhole in your front door to complete the main story of Dread Neighbor.
