DuneCrawl Full Walkthrough – Defend Sanctuary Hill

In this chapter of the DuneCrawl Full Walkthrough we cover the tutorial. This is where your journey through the desert begins — learning the basics, getting your bearings, and figuring out how not to get wiped out in the opening hours. We’ll cover what to do first, where to go, and the early choices that make surviving the sands a whole lot easier.

As you start the game, select your chosen difficulty level. We played on medium. Once you have control, learn to walk around on your chosen controller scheme. We played using a Dual Sense controller. Speak to the villager next.

Defend Sanctuary Hill

We have to get to the Steedle farm. Break open the weapons crates up the path.

Next, take out the enemies that rush you. You can switch opens with either the weapon wheel or the hot bar – its L1 and R1 on the Dual Sense. Practice shooting the Hunting Bow on the target set up at the north end.

This will unlock the door on the right. Break every crate and debris to get junk and gold. These will be useful later. Go through the door and clear the next area. A wave of enemies will show up.

Use the Cutlass or the bow to take them down. Remember to dodge roll, its X on the Dual Sense. Once the wave is clear, check the are down south for a chest containing 15 Gold.

Head through the door now and clear the debris on the left to find a Scattergun. Go up the stairs and past the sign that tells you how to run. Go up the left ramp and clear the enemies here and then pick up the loot from the crates on the east side. Now go up and straight to reach Steedle Farm. Pick up the green bug gack from the corner and feed it to a Nymph.

Now mount a Nymph and make your way to the docks. On the Nymph you cannot do melee attacks. Just ranged. Break the weapon crate and feed a bug gack to the Beetle blocking the way. You can mount the beetle.

Go south past the waterfall, after discovering the shrine. Take out the enemies down here now. Head south down the ramp and take out the two enemies here – one has a shield. After they are taken care of, check the chest down here for 15 Gold and hand cannon.

Head north now and when you try to cross the bridge, two more waves of enemies will show up.

Once the waves are done head up the bridge. In the next area, climb up the vines.

Up there you will find a chest with gold and a Gilded Mask. This makes enemies drop extra gold. Next, pick up a bombflower and open the path up. After you find the next shrine, go down the ramp to the Docks. Avoid the explosions and make your way down to the south west.

You will find a bunch of crates here and a Shrine. Go down the ramp on the right now and at the far end you will find a chest with 50 gold.

Now head South East to the cannon bay.

Carry a cannon ball to one of the canons. Load it up and then mount it. Now aim for the clay tower on the Dune Crawler.

Get over to the Dune Crawler now. Speak to the Old Keeper to heal up the Dune Crawler. Pick up the the bug gack from the back and heal the legs of the Dunecrawler and soon you can name her.

Open up the map and check where the next Clay Tower is.

Mount the Dune Crawler and check the controls on how to order the Old Keeper (if you are playing solo). Go over to the Vassal Tower and destroy it.

Once all the enemies are down, climb into the cannon and shoot yourself over.

Go to the right and pick up the Det Pack Blueprint and the Royal Honey jar and jump down and back on to the Dune Crawler.

You can load the Royal Honey Jar at the front of the Dune Crawler. It’s worth 60 gold to a trader. Shoot yourself back over to the other side and pick up the Iron Bark armour and load it on any of the legs of the Dunecrawler you see fit – I suggest the left front leg. The next bit is optional. If you dock at the Docks now, you can take out a Shielded enemy that drops a canon upgrade.

Ask the Old Keeper (if you are playing solo) to shoot at the Shielded enemy. Most of the attacks will bounce back. Meanwhile you can launch yourself behind the enemy and take it out with haste.

Once it’s down you can pick up the Star Shot Upgrade.

Load up the Star Shot upgrade on one of the canons. Now make your way over to the Kiln Crawler and take out the tower.

Once that’s done you should get 10 Sparkflies. Go down and pick up the loot. Now dock at the village again and talk to the Shaman.

This will open up a bunch of quests and complete the current one.

This concludes the first part of the DuneCrawl walkthrough.
